i've only been out of the country once, and that was when i was two, so unfortunatly i have only rode roller coasters in the u.s.

Am I the only one envisioning "Pilot Snoopy" in place of Avatar on the gondola for that ride next year?
no, i actually said that in another thread, i just accidentally called him the red baron insted of pilot snoopy.:
so if Cedar Fair does remove nick u. next year, will the web-cam be turned so we can watch the re-construction of it?and i just had a great idea for avatar: the last airbender, paint the track and car/buggie/or whatever you call it, and then replace the giant avatar with the red baron

congrats terpy, and topgun, maybe it's because my brain isn't working right at 11:45 at night, but i don't get the picture.
-
this makes me wonder, why on earth did they not design these with platforms so that if something like this does happen the riders can be easily removed?
-
beatle, i think he was talking about the Son of Beast logo not being in the box.

The Firehawk was first opened in February 2007

just because it first opened in a parking lot doesn't mean it opened in ours.

title of story:'Son of Beast' To Remain Closed, Possibly For Good
State inspectors have cleared a Kings Island roller coaster for reopening, but park officials said the ride would remain closed through the end of the season – if not longer.so channel five bent the truth, they said that the ride could be closed for good, but the park said it will be closed the rest of the season, and maybe into next season, that doesn't mean forever

woops, computer went crazy, double post.

if i worked at an amusment park, this is the job that i would want to have, i think it would be so much fun getting to climb to the top of top thrill dragster everyday.
quick question, when they inspect wicked twister, do they just climb in the middle of the track, using it as if it's a ladder?

DiamondbackLover, I don't really know how to say this without being blunt. But you're making yourself look like an idiot right now. If you're still here in the future posting, you'll probably remember this and feel so embarrassed.
i agree with this comment 100%, not because i'm trying to make Diamondbacklover mad, but because i know it's true, just look at some of my first post, and even now i post some things and then wish that there was a way that i myself could go back and remove one of my comments and erase one of the many arguements that i had/have/and most likely will have created.
and with the creation of this thread it makes me want to say i'm sorry for any argument that i have started.

i'm at 10, i wish i had more rides on it, but i never got to get to the park on one of the days where the line ended at the bottom of the stairs.

is it bad i miss King Cobra in the Action Zone...... BTW does anyone have any photos of the Action Zone before SOB was built? But after the Safari Thing ended. I can not remember what it looked like.
um... i might be wrong but that area of the park was never Action Zone until Son of Beast construction had started, did't it become paramount's Action Zone when they opened Invertigo and Drop Tower to the public and didn't they have Son of Beast partially constructed that year?

i'll vote racer and wildcat (at Cedar Point), i don't know why but wildcat is one of my must rides at Cedar Point, way before maverick and almost infront of millie
-
i'm barely a coaster pro, with somewhere around thrity five to fourty coasters, i can't really remember how many coasters i rode when i was smaller.

guy in line for Flight of Fear: "this ride doesn't go upside down"
girl with him: "how do you know?"
guy: "it doesn't have those big bulky harnesses that go over your shoulders"
girl: "what does that have to do with going upside down?"
guy: "for insurance reasons, just look at Son of Beast, it only had the lap belt and the insurance companies told Cedar Point that they needed to either remove the loop or put on the shoulder harness, so Cedar Point just took out the loop."

i remember i was on my way back from Cedar Point, and i really wanted my dad to stop at the park on the way home, but he wouldn't so as soon as i got home i got on here and found everything out.

paperg, The Son of Beast lovers have been lighter on the "Leave Son of Beast alone" comments. They have realized that people in this thread lately are NOT bashing Son of Beast. You, however, do not seem to get it. We are NOT bashing Son of Beast. We are having a reasonable and polite discussion about the maintenance, design and status of the ride. However bleak it may be for the said ride, we are not bashing it. We are not bashing it. You seem to think that whenever someone does not say something positive about the ride, they are bashing it and it gives you the right to tell them in essence to shut up. We have a right to voice our opinion anyway. I do agree some take it to far, but this thread is not all trashing sob. Others have realized that, and some have even joined in the discussion. You don't seem to get that yet.
Jackson, trying to sound as polite as he can, for he does not wish to throw stones, rather, to inform of their actions in hopes that they will improve....
jackson, i don't believe that your reason for us Son of Beast lovers being lighter is true. insted the reason, or at least mine, is because it doesn't mater what we say some (not all) Son of Beast haters take it and go on a giant rampage like the tazmanian devil and tear a thread apart with all of the "Son of Beast isn't safe" and "Son of Beast needs to be burned down", sometimes when we say something about Son of Beast some Son of Beast haters act just like those same park guest that we all get annoyed with in the park that no mater how hard you try to tell them something they just reject it and feel the need to keep on pointing a "fact" out even though you know that it isn't, but it doesn't matter what you know, it's what the people hear (i.e. the press that are taking quotes from here saying they are fact) that they believe.
coaster_junky, who still doesn't understand how he can have so many enjoyable rides on Son of Beast, and haters come off feeling like they have been trampled by an elephant.
[/confusing rant]

for me, the only rides that give me a true thrill are drop rides and launched coasters (except maverick), expecially the drop rides, i love it when you know how long you stay at the top and the feeling you get when you count at the top too fast and your like, "oh god how are they going to get us down from here now", but maybe i'm the only one like that.

The problem isn't that there was one incident- there has been a pattern of incidents since the ride opening...
if it is a pattern, could you please point it out to Kings Island so another one of these accidents doesn't happen?
-
i could have had a night ride on Diamondback durning the fireworks, but the crew stopped the ride and sent through and empty train, but it was kinda neat seeing the reflection of the fireworks in the splashdown pool.

^where are you going to be in urgent scare or do they not tell you what area of the maze you're working in?
if so i will try to look for you this year, that is if my sister doesn't go, and pretty much shove me through the mazes.
we honesty got threw urgent scare in about ten minutes because of her.

that clown thingy had to be the most creepy thing i have ever seen.
coaster_junky, who for some reason is freaked out by porcelain dolls, puppets, life size wax models of people, and now paper mache clowns.
Holiday World to get new ride in 2010?
