Flight Deck is the only roller coaster on Kings Island's site without a photo section, if that means anything.
-
Screamscape reports that track is ready to be shipped to Gardaland: Correct me if I'm wrong, but Batavia's plant serves for the fabrication of steel for all rides in North America (Or is it all rides in the western hemisphere?)
-
At nighttime it takes longer for a digital camera to take a picture, and you end up moving before the pic is developed and therefore the image turns out blurry. Jesse's right, tripod is the way to go.

I actually think it's overrated. I mean, come on, Drop Tower is a 4 and it's a 5! I'd call that an over- -oh, you mean in guest opinion? I don't really think it's overrated, just kind of...forgotten. Nearly all the coaster enthusiasts I know like it, but most of the GP I know doesn't hate it, just, really doesn't love it. I think it's great.

Kings Island has said many times that the program installed May 2009 was the one that has brought downtime to the smallest it's been and ridership to some of the highest it's been in a while. I think they like it, maybe they'll listen to us, the paying guests.

Beech Bend After Flooding

Since when is Kentucky Rumbler a record breaking wooden roller coaster? -
I abstained from voting, as I've only ridden Diamondback ( ) but if I would have to vote based on what I am most looking forward to, I'd have to say Goliath (SFOG), Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, Behemoth.

Timberliners Delayed

If this were any other park, with any other ride, I'd be mad beyond belief. But this is Holiday World, Voyage is still open, and it's a prototype train, so I'll let it go. I don't care if it takes untill 2011, I'm perfectly content with the ride and the park now. -
Diamondback was announced August 6. If I'm not mistaken, season passes for next year went on sale shortly after. Why must people assume this is to shed negative light from Shoot the Rapids? This could be for a great number of reasons. I like the Season Pass idea myself, as it makes the most sense from a business standpoint.

And Great American Scream Machine is 2 years younger then Vortex. Shockwave was one year younger.
-
I don't ride Vortex too often because of how it rides, but when I do ride it, it's usually pretty fun. It's a bit jerky and rough, but it has a nostalgic feel to it that I think Kings Island should be proud of. There are only a few of those left and even if it is rough, it'll always be a charm from the past. http://www.rcdb.com/111.htm?dt=126&d=321 There's a great circle of life here.

Aside from their rather unique B&M Floorless, classic wooden coasters Thunderbolt and Cyclone, and their family spinner?
-
As cool a thought as it is, I still don't like the idea of Vortex being removed.
-
Steel doesn't rust, it corrodes. Granted, it doesn't rot, but it looks like it's rotting.
-
Yikes. IMO there's a difference between "Needs a new paint job" (Racer, Vortex in 2001) and "Currently corroding and rotting to death".
-
Sigh. Flame wars are becoming too common on here. How can we manage to argue over a ride that's been collecting dust for over a year?

Holiday World 2011
Beast1979 replied to Diamondback96's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I wouldn't mind to see a GCI in the field near Pilgrims Plunge, or a Prowler-type one in the woods behind Splashin' Safari. I agree, before I went to Holiday World I thought they needed a steel, but after going I think they should stick to wood. -
Are you talking about the lights used for Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular or the multi-colored floodlights they shine on the tower at night? Because the Starlight Spectacular lights only occupy the back side of the tower. As for the floodlights, I don't know if they still use those with Starlight going on behind it.

Coasting for Kids is coming to Kings Island July 29th

Is there a registration deadline? -
Hey everyone! Our family will be taking a trip to Sea World Orlando sometime in the next month. This is our first trip to Sea World in nearly a decade. We're planning on spending one day at the park, buying our tickets online, and riding all the thrill rides while still seeing all of the other sights. Hopefully we'll be going on a weekday, late in July. Are there are any tips or advice to give out on places to eat, what to see, what to ride, etc? Any help is greatly appreciated. Expect a PTR when we come back! Thanks everyone!
