  1. *happy dance* Go Hart! It looks like all of rcfreak339's senseless optimism has paid off! In all seriousness, I can't wait for 2011. It'll be great to see what they do with the park in the next year, and all of the things to come in future years. Go Kentucky Kingdom!
  2. Have fun! The crowds for morning ERT on DB and Beast is usually minimal. Beast is typically a walk on with Diamondback not much longer. You'll be sure to enjoy yourself in that epic half hour. Be sure to make time to do other things besides the thrills of the park. Kings Island has some hidden treasures, like the 1920's Classic, the Grand Carosuel. A lot of the rides along Coney Mall are pretty fun, and Planet Snoopy is a real treat, plus Boo Blasters is a fantastic dark ride. Don't forget to do Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular, a walk through light show after dusk. Also, if I were you, I might want to spend another half day at Boomerang Bay. It's not the best waterpark in the world, but it's pretty decent. Enjoy your trip, even if you are from Pittsburg.
  3. I would love to see Ed Heart running the park. From what I've seen (Mostly thanks to YouTube) he ran the park spectacularly. The entire park looked upbeat, clean and fun. The level of thrills was easily comparable to that of any other major park at the time, what with him adding Thunder Run, Chang, Twisted Twins, T2, and probably more planned. Not to mention that I think a private owner like Heart would do much better than a big chain like Six Flags.
  4. I hope he just means getting rid of the "Six Flags" part....
  5. Looks fine and dandy to me.....except for the fact that it's closed, of course.
  6. Ah ha ha ha ha. A: If you are a park employee, you aren't allowed to say anything on such things. It'll cost you your job. B: just because you work at the park does not make you a wealth of knowledge. See also: the dippin dots guy.
  7. Wait a sec. Why in the name of Stengel would the park be telling us? Remember, this is the park that said nothing when they closed it, said nothing when they got rid of the sign, removed it from the map, and got rid of the box. Why should they tell us that they're removing the darn thing?
  8. Pay no attention to the person behind the curtain! He'll say anything to stir up excitement! In all seriousness, I still find myself skeptical, however, this would not surprise me. It is way to early, though, to talk about replacements. And come on, Terpy, please don't pull us into the GCI mess of February! ;D
  9. I was there today and I didn't see anything, however, I was only there from the midway. I won't believe anything until I see pictures.
  10. For all those who complain about the 4,000 feet of dead track that is Millennium Island, you'll now have 2 things to look at this year. While going through the overbanks, you'll have a great view of Mantis and Shoot the Rapids!
  11. Millennium Force, for me when I first rode it in 2008, absolutely SHATTERED what I thought a coaster was. Having grown up with Paramount's Kings Island all my life, then going to Cedar Point, a park with much more diversity, and riding Millennium Force, the entire experience was just mindblowing. From the glowing red station to flying over the queue at 80 degrees, I was in awe. That experience has yet to be beat. Millennium Force will always be one of my favorite rides.
  12. When I went to Flashback: Totally 80's last year, I saw Peanut getting down to "Beat It", and I thought it was the most adorable thing ever. I think they should be able to, as long as they aren't a nuisance, which I don't think they are.
  13. I would bet that if the lights returned for a second year, they might go by the name "Starlight spectacular", dropping the Snoopy name because it'd be a year old by then. Or, it could very well retain the Snoopy name, depending on how much they incorperate the characters into the show.
  14. There is a small percentage of people who can't help it, like TombRaider said with Diabetes. But I don't see why manufacturers should change for the ones who can help it. And by the way, what's up with Cedar Point SHORTENING seatbelts? That's the opposite of helping.....
  15. Holiday World rox. Honestly, can you think of any other park that would do this? Way to go. I wonder how it will look with a red train... Edit: and the Timberlinders look Hawt on Voyage.
  16. I'm proud of Ohio and how we're nitpicked at. If people truly disliked Ohio, we'd either be ignored or treated like Texas....
  17. Wow...congratulations, you've successfully made me miss two of my favorite things on Earth....Florida and Universal Studios Florida. Islands of Adventure is my favorite amusement park (Cedar Point worshipers: It's better. Get over it.), and you did a fantastic job of capturing all of the wonder of the park, and all of the greatness of each island. I do disagree with you on a few things, like I thought Jurassic Park was actually a pretty decent area, and I hate water rides of all kinds, but for the most part, awesome Trip Report. Well Done, and glad you had fun!
  18. Well actually, considering pre-registration for HoliWood Nights ended last Wednesday, I'd assume a lot of plans are set. However, if they don't get the Timberliners ready for HWN, then I will be really, really really pi-... upset.
  19. So....can we still even maintain the notion that a new attraction is coming?
  20. Wait, isn't a burst blood vessel excuse enough? Oh, you're talking about the OTHER one....tee hee, I get my rumors mixed up.
  21. I wish that they'd stop marketing exclusivity, especially if they're going to use that exclusivity slogan at all of the parks in the chain. It comes off as almost arrogant to me when Kings Island tries to say they're the "Fun and Only" when Cedar Point, just 4 hours north, a park to which many people in Cincinnati have been to, says they're the "Fun and Only". Plus it shows a supreme lack of creativity. Why can't they do something that describes the park, like "Do it all!" or "The Best in Hollywood Entertainment - Now Playing"? That seems to make a lot more sense to me.
  22. The coaster used is Renegade from Valleyfair. So yes, one could easily fit back in that area.
