  1. Operator? Son of Beast will operate again! This is fun
  2. Hee Haw is how the sound horses make....horses....iron horse....Son of Beast is being renovated with iron horse rails! Oh, how I love rumors.
  3. I had been watching the project since the rumor first popped up during Haunt 2007. I kept stalking KIC and visitkingsisland.com like a hawk, and was sitting at the computer waiting come Agust 6, 2:00 pm. (Wow...thats kinda lame that I remember that) I freaked out!
  4. Photo is credited to Dave Wetterstroem (DaveStreom) taken by him May 29.
  5. GOOD! I hate cooperate endorsements like that. Park sponsored by Pepsi, ok. Pepsi ad in the Queue, fine. Put it as part of the ride name?! Uh...no. And as far as the 'Backstory'....wow. I just imagined it as a roller coaster at a small amusement park that is named Python. The Pepsi part is because Pepsi paid money for it. I really can't even find any other theming to support a 'backstory'.
  6. AHHH!!!! *head explodes* T2 is one of the few rides where I refuse to ride it. It's in the same boat as Son of Beast and Mean Streak.
  7. It's rough, but in an out of control sense. I thought Voyage in another seat besides 1-1 was WAY rougher then Legend.
  8. You know...this may have some accuracy to it...I mean, look what I found out by Son of Beast the other day! Just kidding. Those are sitting out in a field beside Voyage at Holiday World. In all seriousness, that post was from early April. Who knows what's going on now.
  9. I must disagree with a lot of people here. Ride Raven, then Legend, then Voyage. Voyage is the kind of ride where if you ride it first, Legend and Raven will seem like nothing afterwards. Not to mention, in my opinion, you'll be doing them in order of each one being better then the last. Of course, that is my opinion, I know there are some here who disagree. All 3 are spectacular rides, each with it's own experience. Don't forget poor old Howler! Ride Raven in the back, for the most G-Forces throughout the course. As pretty an element as the turn over lake Rudolph it is, it doesn't to much for the on-ride experience. Watch for the famous 5th drop, it's quite a pleasant surprise! Ride Legend near the back, same as Raven, for more G's. The way the ride works, whoever sits on the right will end up slamming the rider on the left, and the rider on the left will be squished into the side of the train. The end helix is both similar to Beast, and at the same time very different. Make sure to make your own choice to the superior! Ride Voyage in the front car, preferably front seat. I rode that ride 6 times (All but 1 were painful experiences) before I discovered 1-1. You'll find that seat to be smooth as glass. The Voyage itself is an absolutely incredible experience, enjoy it! I found myself searching for Pat and Will so I could personally thank them for the ride. As far as non-coaster suggestions, here's what I have to say: Unlike Kings Island, don't be afraid to eat in park. My mom and I both had a quality lunch for $13 total. No joke. It is the opposite of Cedar Fair, good food for a reasonably low price. The park is not to dissimilar to Dollywood in the aspect of there's so much more there then rides and coasters. Feel free to wander around the park and explore, it's a charming place. Stores, restraunts, you can even get your picture taken with Santa! Be sure not to miss Gobler Getaway, a dark ride by the same company of Boo Blasters (But very different, in a good way); The Lewis and Clark Trail, an antique car ride good for those who miss KI's, though not a good; and Eagles Flight, a set of flying scooters who some say are un-snappable, (I disagree) but would not suggest trying due to their policy on such things. Their waterpark is very good, the best I personally have been to so far. Great collection of rides, free sunscreen, a live band (Not waterpark related, but a great touch), and they play Beatles! Enjoy your time there, I know I did!
  10. I'm not saying Voyage isn't demanding. It's very wild, rough, and probably a maintenance nightmare. But I would think Son of Beast would be more demanding, at least for the first half. Remember, a timber even cracked from the stress.
  11. If they're having this much trouble getting the Timberliners to work on Voyage, a less demanding ride designed by the same company as the trains and at a park where there aren't very many other priorities, imagine Cedar Fair putting them on Son of Beast.... Jackson, who wishes that "Burn Son of Beast!" And "Put Timberliners on it!" Would die...
  12. Rock Band is only going until the 13th, so it's not a long term problem. However, I can see the issue here. I can typically hear Don't Stop The Music from where Starlight is, so there will be a "Noise Competition". If they could have them trade off on time slots, it would work a lot better.
  13. I would go 0 times, just to make a statement.
  14. The track is made in Batavia, right here near Cincinnati. I still lol every time this happens, track shows up and people automatically assume it's for park "X"'s new coaster.
  15. Dick Kinzel gives one big whit though. However, lord knows how long he'll be at Cedar Fair too...
  16. I honestly did not notice those. I wonder what they could be for....
  17. Fail. Seriously, I think a nice shiny B&M Flyer or a purdy GCI Twister would go over very well in Sandusky! And they would always open on time!
  18. Here is how the sign appeared on Friday Night. I see the opportunity for this sign to rock.
  19. ? I went on preview night on Friday, and not only did the lights sync to the music very well (And there was also a great playlist, everything from Peanuts theme to Guns and Roses) but the tower lit up to the music. When the music hit the grand finale, the entire area nearly went spastic. The Stars changed colors rapidly, the lights on the bushes and trees blinked in unison, the light arches near Backlot bounced back and forth and lights shot up and down the Tower wile the Stripe changed color. It was very cool. For the most part, the entire area worked very well. Maybe it was having difficulties on Saturday night. I highly suggest you try it again.
  20. I have a few photos, will upload them in the morning.
  21. Yep, it's a red arch about 12 feet high on grey supports. There's nothing on it yet though.
  22. I've always wanted to spend a night at Kings Island. Imagine sleeping in some of the station houses...awesome!
  23. What are you talking about? The fountains have been gone for a while. That entire area of the park has gone down the drain. And now people can smoke freely in it.... Oh, the I-Street fountains. I thought you ment Tower Lack Of Gardens.
