  1. I was on the Eiffel Tower Sunday and couldn't see them, even with the telescope.
  2. I also knew what it was from riding Texas Twister.
  3. I have never been there on a Saturday in October when it wasn't wasn't packed, day or night.
  4. Very good point. And, even on days when the park isn't crowded, its still a tradition to ride The Beast at night and there's always a line at the end of the day. The reduced capacity would have a HUGE effect after dark!
  5. It wouldn't be a good idea for CF to sell KI. With both CP, KI, and the park in Michigan, they, for all practical purposes, have a monopoly in this region of the country.
  6. I agree. But it's still a classic and always our first and last ride at the park every time we go....
  7. I'm 6'2", so I have to but XL's or else they don't cover my middle-aged gut....LOL!!!
  8. I watched it again and there does appear to be braking right at the end of the chain lift at the start of the drop. I do remember the ride going very slowly at that point when I was a kid. It apparently has just been repositioned. I also noticed that, on the hill between the first hill and the braking station, the braking used to be on the side of the hill and not at the top like it is now. That explains why I remember airtime on that hill when I was sitting in the back years ago......
  9. Wasn't everything like that back then? My kids wear some of my clothes that my parents saved from when I was young (at the kids' request, not out of necessity:)) and never wear them out, but the stuff I buy for them today always gets torn in a week....... Btw, I didn't mean any offense by my Beast video post in the other thread.....
  10. Last weekend, they were having a "sidewalk sale" of IJ:ST, Top Gun and TR:TR shirts with $16.99 price tags. They were 2 for $5.00!!! There were virtually no XL sizes and very few larges. Obviously, they are dumping this stuff and won't need these items next year. I think this is a very strong indication that CF will be retheming these 3 rides in the offseason. I can see discounting summer items at the end of the season, but this sale was limited to Paramount items and those with the 2007 date printed on them. And $2.50 for a T-shirt????!!!!! I don't think they were that cheap in 1972!!!!!
  11. And, if they were replacing all of the Paramount theming (which they are), wouldn't they have to "gut" the building?
  12. I have a 7 and an 8 year old and have taken them before (not into the haunts but for the rides). Just make sure you hold his hand. they have a lot of fog machines which make it VERY foggy. And it's always crowded. It would be very easy for a child to get lost. I've even gotten separated from other adults before.... But it IS a lot of fun!!!
  13. I agree. I like Interpreter's posts. I didn't intend to question anyone's credibility. I just wanted to provide the video so people could watch and compare for themselves.....
  14. The faster the better!!!!!!!!!! We'll see how the tests go....... Maybe (hopefully!!) they'll remove those horrible brakes and the ride will be more like it was in the "good old days."
  15. I've seen the screamscape pics and I'm still a little skeptical. They are closeup pics and there are no landmarks or any other way of telling where or when those were taken......
  16. Here is the original POV video of The Beast. It clearly shows the positioning of the original brakes.
  17. I took my kids last Sunday. Other than Scrambler and TR, White Water Canyon, Congo Falls, and Viking Fury were not running. But with the weather this coming weekend, I can't imagine the two water rides being high on anyone's wish list. Vortex and Adventure Express were down to 2 trains, but were still virtual walk ons all day. Everything else was running normally from what I could see.
  18. I have always loved the idea of a KI museum. I am 39 and I've been going to KI since the first season. Every time we go to the park, my kids are full of questions about what it was like when I was their age (and younger). A museum to show them would be phenonmenal.... They could build it several stories high, the top level being similar to the former 50 ft level of the Eiffel Tower with large picture windows overlooking the entire area from Coney Mall To Action Zone with a series of historical pictures between the windows showing the development of those areas fron 1972 to the present so that patrons could compare what they are looking at now to what it has looked like through the years. Just an idea....
  19. ...and the $29.95 per month "servicing fee", and the $10.95 per use "handling" change.... Great post!! LOL!!!
  20. This is my first post on here, but I don't think TR will be removed, for a number of reasons. First, as long as CF is billing the ride as the only Huss Giant Top Spin in the country (which is what the park people always say, I don't know whether this is true or not), it is a "one of a kind" attraction that they would not want to get rid of. Also, it is a ride that could easily be reprogramed and rethemed without the paramount connection. This would certainly cost CF less than removing TR and building something new. Finally, there is plenty of room to put a big ride in that area without removing TR. I did go to the park last weekend and you could see from The Beast that the theming is sitting outside the building, I was told by someone I know who works at the park that it was necessary to remove the theming in order to give the maintenance crews room to perform repairs to the ride without damaging any of the decor....
