It's a good thing you don't know me. You wouldn't be able to say that anymore. I really wanted to like it. We planned an entire trip around El Toro being our new #1. After we rode it, we were painfully disappointed, emphasis on the painful. We refer to it as "El Staple" in this house.

Here's a few from KIC Day in 2008: And this one that we took of our about 6 week old son in front of SOB during a Haunt Sunday last year, because I really thought it would be gone come Opening Day this year:

Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great Adventure. Halfway through the ride I casually yelled over to my husband "This sucks. It's boring." Other coasters that I will happily wait at the exit for you to ride include: Vortex at Carowinds, Sidewinder at Hersheypark, and Invertigo at Kings Island.

You can contact the park and ask, but the FAQ on the FunPerks site states All rewards must be redeemed by the end of the 2012 operating season (October 28). Rewards will not carry over to 2013. Here's the link: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/fun-perks-tips-help

Very entertaining. I enjoyed it!

I went on the 6th and they were checking bags, but it seemed to be pretty random. One of the security guards waved me through even though I had a bag in the bottom of the stroller. I saw him wave some other people through as I was approaching and they also had bags.

Just a heads up, I was on the Funperks website last night, and they are offering a pretty good discount on tickets for certain Cincinnati Reds games. If you enjoy that sort of thing, check it out.

As long as it isn't extremely expensive, I figure my family and I would partake in such a tour.

It's definitely an old article. 2007. Edit: You beat me to it, Titan!

$700 Backyard Roller Coaster
Ogrmac replied to Hank's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That's pretty awesome! I think the "lift hill" would get pretty tired after a while. LOL! -
It has been covered already. In this very thread, in fact. Thanks for sharing though.

I'm not sure I would chance losing a lens on any of the rides, but I used to work in the optical field, and that's something that we could fix quickly and for free. If you are able to get to the place where you got the glasses, I bet they could fix you up.

Disaster Transport Memories
Ogrmac replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I first rode it in 2009. My favorite memory of it is my husband causing an "up-bar" while we were loading because his leg somehow got stuck on the restraint. No idea how he managed that one. We still tease him about it. -
I also say "call the park" but I will say that I had an unprocessed season pass several years ago, and I was able to "upgrade" it for the next year for a minimal fee. This was several years ago though, so be sure to call the park to see what they will do about your particular situation.

The last time I was there, which was about a month ago, I saw a sign advertising said lockers. Either they removed them or GS is mistaken.

Ahhh, I see. Thank you for clearing that up.

I'm having a little trouble understanding what happened with the chairs. Did you move someone else's stuff? The end of your post makes no sense.

Sigh... This is not a chatroom. When someone reads your topic and has something worthwhile (or not, as the case seems to be lately) to post in it, they will.

Goodyellowkorn, I am out of likes, but in regards to your latest post: If the internet was real life, I would have stood up and started a slow clap in honor of what you just said. Also, Gordon Bombay... I want to say thanks for coming over here and trying to clean up the forums a bit. I quit visiting the site for some time because I was tired of sifting through the crap to find out if there was anything of real substance posted here. Due to the obvious lack of moderation (I know, people have priorities) I was close to giving up again, but for now I think I will stick around.

There IS a way kids these days are going to wait until they are 13 or 14. We have an almost 14 year old and a 12 year old. When the oldest turned 13, he was allowed to get his own Facebook profile (the age is 13.) The 12 year old will have to wait until he is 13 to get a Facebook profile. The rule in this house is that you have to wait until you are the age that the site requires you to be to sign up for anything. They also have parental monitoring software installed on their computers and I monitor it weekly, because there was NO WAY I was going to hand 2 children their ages computers and let them have free roam on the world wide web. They know that computer and internet usage is a privilege and NOT a right. If they don't abide by our rules, they lose the computers. Anyhow, I kind of got off on a tangent there, but the point is that some kids do have to wait, and for good reason. The internet is not full of people that have good intentions and want only the best for your child.

"Posting and You" should be required viewing for most new users... LOL (Warning: a few curse words are in this video.)

Welcome back to KIC! Awesome trip report, looks like you all had an excellent time. Can't wait to see the rest!

Premier Rides. Is that what you mean?

I was born in the early 80's, 83 to be exact. I grew up around Nintendo, and while I don't really remember how much, if any, marketing was geared toward females, I certainly don't remember ever feeling alienated or left out, like I wasn't supposed to play Nintendo simply because I am a girl. I feel I am rather familiar with the brand, if that helps answer your question.

It was. Monday afternoon, shortly before 3pm. I was standing by Vortex's exit waiting on my husband and kids. They loaded WindSeeker, it went up, the music stopped and a ride op got on the loudspeaker and said "We are experiencing technical difficulties." etc. I looked up, and it was stopped at the top. It was about 30 minutes before they slowly descended to the ground.
