  1. And your point would be what? For one, I think someone inside the park ought to be the first to know about one of the rides having issues. Secondly, it IS possible that they are retracking the turnaround for maintenance reasons while at the same time, insuring that an incedent doesn't happen again so the Teddy Bear will be more reliable. And thirdly, of course the train is off, because it would make perfect sense that since the Teddy Bear will not be running for the remaining part of the season, to go ahead and take the train off the track and get it into the shop. There shouldn't be any doubt involved when it doesn't have to be one or the other.
  2. Actually, according to Arlene, the lady that always operates The Tornado, the Teddy Bear got stuck there at some point during the season causing some of the boards on the track to tear loose. That is the reason for the refurbishment of the turnaround. She also mentioned the reason it wasn't immediately fixed was because the guy that works on it has to have a triple bipass. She did assure me that it would be fixed next season.
  3. You make it sound like there is no one in the park. I still bet they make a little money off the deal. The line this year at second session was usually about a two train wait for Tornado, and three when they started. Anyway, if there is a KICentral day at Stricker's Grove, I'm all over that! And...if Stricker's Grove can afford to put in a coaster and maintain it by only renting out the park to groups and opening three days a year, you will never be able to convince me that Coney Island couldn't figure out a way to put in a small wooden coaster. Even if it takes them a few seasons to do it...I'll wait!
  4. Which tells me that they need to have a wooden coaster to boost attendance!!
  5. Which is why I still say they should get Screechin' Eagle. Since it is right next to a river, it ought to be used to floods, and at least Coney Island would take care of it. They made it work before didn't they?
  6. Okay...yes parking is outrageous anyway. However at least season passes came with parking this year (for now). However...NO WAY should there be fewer metal detectors and ticket booths. The lines are long enough as it is. Personally I voted for games, but not for the park games, which are fine. The arcades need to be improved. Traditional skee ball would be great, since they removed all of those, and have more decent games and less crap. Actually, the main thing that I believe needs to be improved at Kings Island lies within the maintenance department. Top Gun for one needs painted BADLY, and there are several other things around the park that also need paint. I wouldn't complain if they would show a little love to The Racer either. It is starting to need some track work done before it gets as rough as it was before. Did anyone ride in the back seat later this season? There are some ouchies along the way, and the trains jolt going over the first small hill.
  7. In that case, maybe my 5's on everything except service, which received a 4, are all because I usually frequent Stunt Crew Grill. In my opinion, its got to be one of the best places to eat in the whole park. Admittedly, I pay well for it, but the portions are HUGE. My bacon cheddarburger platter fills me up with absolutely no problem, and I've never had a bad one. If I don't eat there, I eat at Chick-Fil-A, and I haven't had any problems there either. The stories you've shared--especially the phone and rap music, I find to be a little distressing. Hopefully they will improve the food experience overall.
  8. Are you serious or exaggerating? How often did they have to be replaced?
  9. I have to add this. I know that Tomb Raider is not dearly loved, but I want to see if anyone agrees with this. My first ride on Tomb Raider was during the 2003 season, and I rode it twice and loved it. When we went back in 2005 and I rode it again, I didn't like it so much. It seemed more rough and jerky, and not as much fun as before. Can I assume it was reprogrammed slightly in between those years? Or am I just ?
  10. Personally, I would like to see them buy The Screechin' Eagle from Americana. ...and before you tell me it isn't for sale--everyone has a price. Either way, they need a wooden coaster.
