Bro I'm talking about the only roller coaster not in Planet Snoopy that doesn't have FLP access. You make it sound like I'm saying some kind of outlandish statement. Candada's Wonderland added a new path for FL this offseason to one of their rides, so why not consider one for Flight Deck? I guess if they can do it for Racer, they can do it for Flight Deck.

Just do it with taste...please!!!

Speaking as someone who worked a lot of ERT sessions at The Beast in 2009 and 2011, there were some that came for the 30 minute ERTs, and it was actually just about right. The hour on Saturday, well...we usually sat in the drive box for at least 20 minutes after 9 before our first riders arrived. But The Beast was competing against a brand new ride at the time. Not in 2011 it wasn't. I remember waiting some days 30 minutes before the first person came.

The darker color makes it feel less spectacular to me...or maybe dirtier is the right word. I don't like Kings Dominion's fountains nearly as well because they're darker in color. That and I think ours are prettier in general.

Overall I tend to prefer my home away from home, KI, better. KD has nicer shade and many parts of the park are prettier and still have the old charm. Kings Island wins if for no other reason than they run more trains. The number of times I've had to wait in line at KD for one train operation...grrrrrr.... Plus I'm also partial to it after having worked there. I miss it a lot!

So it might save you 5 minutes, but since it takes 10 minutes to walk back there......lol If you want it, fine. I don't really see why they would redesign such a problematic queue though.

I have always loved the royal fountains exactly the way they are. I'm not a fan of the idea of changing them. If they insist on it, at least leave them the relaxing blue that they are!!
-
I would say that's probably a no, but I may be wrong. I think you may be looking into it a little bit too much. Well in that case, I would very much like for them to add a path for Fast Lane use. Most of the time Flight Deck is nearly a walk-on if not a walk-on anyway. Why would they add an extra queue?

It's people not realizing the obvious. If you'll ever notice, the restraints on Vortex are very stiff to open. Therefore often when you push up against them, you'll be able to push them up a smidge until it hits the lock mechanism. That's why everyone seems to think this is happening. It isn't. I have, however, had a couple restraints that have come up one click, just not the style restraints found anywhere at Kings Island. It's the principle behind why Cedar Fair requires 2 clicks on the rides. The Beast and The Racer are most commonly noticed because they only have 4 clicks - you'll hear people griping about that. Funny, they never seem to complain about Adventure Express having to be down 2 clicks. (The lap bar is practically not down at all when it's 2 clicks.)
-
They usually are that. They're also getting to the point where every ride is pretty much like the one before it, and the ones made within the last decade or so really don't have the forces on them that the older ones do. They're starting to get a bit monotonous.

New ReEntry Policy for Season Pass Holders

Dare I ask which three? If it was Geauga Lake, Cedar Point, and Kings Island I could see it. The others are pretty scattered. -
A Taste of What's To Come

I'm quite certain he's used to it by now. -
It's kind of a no-brainer that if you're going to go to a park, look to see when/whether they are open. It's not the park's fault if you don't take the time to look at the obvious first. Way back in the day before everything was posted on the net, I could understand. In the modern world - it's your own fault.

I just have to comment to this. Pretty much every opening day, some of the sections to the trims on The Beast are removed as the trains are still breaking in for the season. Trust me, they were not all off. Likely there was one missing from the second hill, two gone from the brake shed, and either one or two off the helix, with none gone from the first drop. That's the typical pattern, though it does change some...and it's certainly not new. Also, the ones you claim are faster/smoother can probably be attributed to the recently re-coated wheels on the trains.

Kings Island should comment with, "You're welcome. Try reading the operating calendar next time. It has been posted for months and has not changed."

A Gravity Group would be the best choice, but I don't see them getting that.

The types of people who buy Fast Lane are the ones that the park will try to avoid ticking off. They've paid quite a bit of money, and they will make a very large scene when they think they're being inconvenienced. Fast Lane automatically gives them a sense of entitlement. You should have seen some of the scenes people caused at Dollywood over a $15 Q2Q when I told them to merge into the station at Blazing Fury. They griped up a storm that they were having to wait three or four trains. What I loved was when they griped to me about not having a line to skip on slow days. "Why'd I even pay for this thing?" Uh...that's what I want to know! Apparently reserved seating for shows, because that's all you'll be using it for today.

Oh, no...here we go again...

New ReEntry Policy for Season Pass Holders
dare-to-fly replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
A pass not scanning at Cedar Point...nah.... The number of times I've been in CP's guest relations department is unbelievable. This was my favorite. We bought platinum passes in October a couple years ago in October. (We did not have passes at the time.) We had thought that the same rule would apply that you still get one free visit with a platinum. We were told that only the regular season passes were good for a free visit and that platinum passes were not. We were then told that what we could do would be to buy Cedar Point regular season passes, go in, get a hand stamp and come back out and upgrade to Cedar Point Platinum Passes. When we did, the person at guest relations that was having us do all this simply opened a gate and let us through once we upgraded. What kind of IDIOTS run that park?? That was a bunch of time, effort, and patience wasted. This is why I usually only go to CP once a year, and spend the rest of my time at KI. I've never had too much trouble getting KI's guest relations to do what I want them to do. -
You do realize that this is very common and happens all the time, right? Usually when this happens, maintenance will be able to move the trains to get people off, or at least temporarily fix the problem so people can be taken off. Then the ride will be down for a few while they fix the problem that occurred. This is nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely nothing to worry about.

Man talk about having to eat my words on that one. I didn't miss the DB one by much, but...uh, The Beast I missed completely!! I didn't really expect it to be as busy as it was.
-
Thank goodness someone finally got it right.

And I'm wondering how crowded it is right now. Still another hour and 20 minutes of opening day left. I wish I was there.

New ReEntry Policy for Season Pass Holders

That's interesting news. Also, I will have a Kings Island platinum for the first time in several years again this season. It will be interesting to see if it was just the rotten luck of my previous pass, but the number of times I've had to go to guest relations because my pass didn't scan is too difficult to count. It has happened enough that it's funny. (Terpy's situation, not so much.)
