  1. No I feel better that everyone knows about our wild rampage around the midwest and I don't have to do a thing!!!!
  2. Patience, patience. She can only type 150 wam, and pictures take a little longer to upload.
  3. That would be one of the 4 people on the crew named Matt. That would be Caitlin (one of 2). She is often an advertisement for the park's blue ice cream.
  4. I'm glad one of us is doing a trip report. Other things are winning the battle for me at this point.
  5. There's a blacklight in the people dryer! They don't want to overcamp the next morning waiting for wet clothes! Tee hee! Campity, campity, camp!

  6. There's airtime on Thunder Run! Tee hee!

  7. I know who you're talking about and I agree with everything you say He is definitely my pick for the most entertaining ride op of the '09 season. Haha! My favorite Beast ride op. He had me cracking up a LOT today. The Beast crew rocks!
  8. ...And then there are also the days when Diamondback goes down and everyone flocks to Beast. Fun times! Since I have to comment on the original question, I can assure you that The Beast is still part of the morning ERT schedule. There are occasionally problems that arise that cannot be anticipated ahead of time. Maintenance goes over and above to try to make sure that the ride is operable and when such problems do occur, they are fixed as quickly as humanly possible. The electrical problems of this Thursday and Friday mornings would be the exception rather than the rule. The Beast just felt like sleeping in. Flyer, who gave away too much, but it's already in the open anyway!
  9. That can only mean one thing. We need to both ride together and spin it at record speeds!!!!
  10. Well...it figures. The one Family Day that I miss and they have Stricker's Grove T-shirts to sell. Congratulations on yours, though. It's a rare find! As for Tip Top...ride with me sometime if you want to experience a wild ride.
  11. They already mentioned that she has nuts and bolts from the ride. I thought I was borderline insane for talking to The Beast...and singing him the occasional lullaby.
  12. Your professor will mind...but it's whether he/she chooses to say/do anything about it that you should be concerned about. I'm sure you'll find a way to be able to work at least to some degree if that's your choosing. I happen to know for a fact that there might just be a certain ride op at The Beast that commutes an hour and a half one way to work his shift...and loves every minute of it, I might add.
  13. Cyclops at Mount Olympus. My #1 wooden coaster! Skyliner at Lakemont is also a religious experience. Flyer, who likes to fly free of trims!
  14. Dear CedarPointer, Some people do! Enjoy the park when it isn't Haunt! Flyer, who loves Haunt rides on The Beast.
  15. I found the most amusing height requirement sign at Knoebels during the Spring Preservation Conference. It was for 1001 Nachts, and it had a genie with a lamp on it. The sign read, "rub my lamp and make a wish to be ** inches tall to ride this ride. If your wish does not come true, you get a free wish next year." As for the restriction rule, you have to draw the line somewhere. They drew it, now follow it. It's for the safety of those who are too short, and if you make them ride too early, it can scare them enough to turn them off of roller coasters permanently. Just ask tycoonrebel7188.
  16. It looks like we're all in agreement. While this is true...how often does that really happen?
  17. Thursdays sound like fun, but I hope that doesn't affect the blissful days during that time of year. I won't mention what day of the week it is just to keep the crowds down.
  18. i'm going to ki pretty soon and is wondering should i ask or sneak my video camera on there. cause it will be my first pov Neither! If you ask, "no" is the response you will get. If you are sneaking on the video camera, you're breaking the law. And since I feel like spieling: Just as a reminder, the use of electronic devices such as cameras and cell phones is stricktly prohibited on all rides at Kings Island. Failure to follow all verbal and posted instructions is considered a misdemeanor under Ohio law. So there! Flyer, responding in the way that he feels he should!
  19. I like the new calendar. It's more like the ones that almost every other amusement park uses, and it's a lot easier to find what you need. Simplicity rules!
  20. I haven't taken any POV's or on-ride photos at parks that have policies against it. If they don't care, then neither do I...though usually it's too much trouble. Unfortunately...that completely depends on the mood of the ride op who catches them! Flyer, who usually isn't too moody!
  21. Same here, but it's a nice opportunity provided by GOCC. I don't have my schedule yet, but I'll likely be in the park one way or another so... 1. kjkjkj/ Kyle- Maybe going 2. Ashers/ Ashley- Maybe going 3. HTCO (maybe) 4. dare-to-fly
  22. You obviously don't know me! I talk to all of the coasters like they're my friends...mostly because they are. I have on many occasions said, "See ya later, Vortex." I should say your point is irrelevant because I can come up with a case against it, but I don't wish to be rude.
  23. Well you're in luck, because as was already mentioned, The Racer has the "the" in it and therefore is okay to say. Adding the word "the" unnecessarily to a ride name is annoying because it isn't the proper title of the ride. Using the name of the ride in a sentence is not any different than using a person's name without the word "the." I wouldn't say to you, enjoy your day the teenageninja. It's just not necessary. "Enjoy your ride on Vortex" works just fine. It's the name of the ride. Now, being rude to someone for expressing what they have issues with is not something that's in good spirits. We all have our own fetishes about things, and that's perfectly fine. I'm sure you have things that bother you. For me, adding a "the" is noticeable, but I don't throw a fit over it. I do, however, get very blunt with people who add an "s" to the end of The Racer. It's the same reason. The "s" isn't a part of the ride name and isn't necessary.
  24. Maybe because Diamondback has high capactiy. And because people still love The Beast...and by the way, it was great to ride DB with you yesterday, Diamondback FOF! You said it! With 36 riders per train, it has great capacity. It's slowed down by seatbelts, though...and those who don't seem to know how to fasten them.
  25. That's the "in thing" right now to try to get guests to say they like Beast more than Diamondback...and a good portion of them do! Another common speil that some may have heard is telling the train to scream so loud Diamondback can hear.
