  1. I've been a fan of that page since the beginning. I know Son of Beast will never be restored to us, but it's a fun little community of Kings Island fans on Facebook.
  2. I have the original video file. I don't know how legal it would be to put it on youtube though.
  3. That's not all the audio files. You're missing the hour long inside queue and the hour long outside queue as well as a few others. It's also cool to watch the original preshow movie. That really brings back the memories! That first time you ride TRTR in it's original state, it really is mind blowing. It was like nothing else anyone had seen. So awesome! Going to a shift soaking wet is the best. I once rode White Water Canyon about fifteen minutes before a close at Vortex. Looking back, I'm not sure why I did this. lol
  4. Thanks the info DeLorean rider. Very interesting read! I'll miss Tomb Raider. It really isn't harder for me now though. It died to me when they made it the Crypt. The last time I rode it was in early 2006, when it was still epic.
  5. Here's a photo of the ride outside of a box. http://www.geering-engineering.com/images/content/KI-GTS1.jpg
  6. I loved Son of Beast even if it did get insanely rough in the latter years. I once rode it fourteen times in one evening after work during fearfest. That night is still one of my fondest KI memories ever. Son of Beast, Tomb Raider: Theride (lol) and the Flying Eagles: three of my favorite rides. All gone. At least Vortex and Delirium are still there.
  7. I love the new color. It's a great ride. Hopefully it will stay around for many years to come.
  8. So, I found out the other day that my credit card company offers free personalization. So I took them up, and created a Vortex card! When you put the best roller coaster in the world on your credit card, you create the best credit card in the world! I suppose it could be outdone if somebody had a better shot of Vortex on theirs. Here's the photo I used.
  9. Happy birthday Vortex! 25 years and still the best!
  10. No coaster could ever replace the Flying Eagles.
  11. Indeed. I've lost a good deal of weight, but not as much as I would have liked. Hoping to get to Dragster/Millie size by next year!
  12. I love Wendy! How you doooooooooooin!? I didn't even know she came here.
  13. Vortex is rough because it's structure is barely able to contain the awesomeness. And here's a close-up of a footer. Hasn't sunk much since 1987 has it?
  14. I'm like a 24 and I can ride everything except Drop Zone. I can ride Drop Zone if I don't mind not being able to breathe even.
  15. The B&M manufacturing plant is in Batavia. They make track there that goes all over the world. I saw track there one time that was destined for China, as well as track for Sheikra, Silver Bullet and Patriot. The Sheikra track was incredibly massive.
  16. If the artists conception of the expansion is 100% realistic, then I'm pretty sure this is just the first phase in a bigger plan to upgrade it. If you compare it to Google Earth imagery, they're adding a second wide path back to that slide way back in the woods, and it seems redundant unless they intend the water park further back into that direction. It makes sense for them to add the wave pool and redesign the parking lot and the dedicated entrance, which will be a significant investment. Then in a couple years they can add more attractions as everything else will be all set: it will just be a matter of building the paths to the new slides, and building the actual ride. If the rendering is accurate, and they do move the employee entrance road to continue in the direction that it shows in the rendering, it will free up a huge amount of land for the water park to expand to; not to mention all the land going back toward Diamondback.
  17. Well it's windy as heck at the top. I noticed the wind going through my earrings was making a humming sound. Various things like this could lead to matrixing. People instinctively look for patterns in chaos, and can see and hear things that aren't there.
  18. It was a lot scarier than I thought it would be. It is very low on the intensity scale, but very high on the fight scale.
  19. Does this mean that riding by myself is no longer an option? I can deal with riding next to a stranger if I'm in a back row on Diamondback, but I won't sit next to a stranger on any ride where I have to be physically close to said stranger. Is this going to be applied to all of the rides eventually?
  20. I'm really hoping they put in a Zamperla Volare in that area behind Delirium. It would fit just fine, and it's something the park really needs!
