Maybe they are saying let the horse out of the barn so it can get away from the diamond back.

Any speculation as to what exactly the "tonic" is for. I mean the park wouldn't just tell people to bring it just so they are scrathing there heads about what it's for until media day, and then it not have any use at all would they?

There wasn't any activity that I saw today at the previous swan lake site. I guess they will be doing most of the vertical construction on weekdays.

^ kinda what I was thinking

I think I figured out the new coaster name!
masonguy21 replied to Young Gunz's topic in Kings Island
no it says "run for the hills" -
I'm sure it will be more crowded than usual, but nothing too out of hand.

Yesterday on my way to work at the park I saw that there was a news 5 truck parked in the executive parking lot, and I also saw a camera man and a reporter walking around around the front gate. Does anyone know what the story they were doing was about? Or see the story? I looked on channel 5's website but couldn't find anything that I thought was it, just a lot about the Kinevil jump.

Realy I see people walk in with them all the time in plain eye sight, I don't think they care since you can get water at the park for free.

Yeah the cicadas are absolutly terrible! I work at the park taking photos and it is crazy how many times I've been about to take a photo of a group and i cicada lands on someone and they freak out and then you have to wait for like 10 minutes for them to calm down again. It's already ridiculously hot and then you add incredibly annoying bugs to the mix, yeah it's bad.

Mason just got out Tuesday, so I am sure there will be quite a bit more people than there has been, but with the heat and humidity latly I think boomerang bay will be the most affected.
-
The only thing is that I don't think people would be able to understand what was going on, and why would there be sun in the middle of the night? I like the whole train ride concept though, but i think it makes more sense for it to be like ghost cowboys and stuff instead of vampires.

New 18 hole Mini-Golf to Great Wolf
masonguy21 replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
yeah its still there, well the pool that the boats were in at least. yeah i used to go there all the time when i was really little, but they didn't have bumber boats even then. does anyone know when they stopped using them? and it seems like its just been latly that that mini golf place right by the beach has just gotten over run. a couple years ago it still seemed usable but now the undergroth has just murdered the place. -
Another thing you might want to consider riding somewhat early on as well is Son of Beast, its been getting relitivly long lines latly.

During the jump ceremony I guess you could call it the announcer kept calling it Kings Island, Ohio. I wonder if he knows that Kings Island isn't a city. Sorry just had to point it out since I'm from Mason.

He did it! With a little bit of hesitation which is totally understandable, but he did it!

^^ I saw that too! Do you think he has completed the whole jump or he just did like a truck less?

I don't know, it looks to me like that crown piece isn't setting up a 90ยบ drop. I'm not going to pretend like I know much about the structure of coasters, but on the dive machine it dosn't look like its crown piece makes a 90 degree bend right off, so I think it is a reasonable guess that, that is what it could be. But does the track look wide enough to be a dive machine? Again I don't know that much about the design of coasters, just saying what I see.

It definantly depends on the coaster, although front seat is awesome on pretty much every coaster. But on wooden especially SOB and The Beast I normally sit near the front unless it is really corwded, which in that case I will settle for a seat more towards the middle, but back on a woody for me kills. On a steel though I like sitting near the back for more airtime. Almost everytime I ride Vortex it is in the back just so I can get a second or two of weightlessness, but front on a steel is still a good thrill too, cause you don't have anything in front of you.

But that 25-35 seconds adds up fast

I think this is incredibly unfortunate and terrible for the victims, but for all the people who don't ride carnival/amusment park ride b/c they are afraid of somthing mechanicly going worng thats just dumb. If the people who build and design rides found that a ride was more unsafe than not they wouldn't be distributing the ride in the first place. I do agree that there might need to be some more saftey checks and regulations, but if you honestly think that carnival rides are unsafe you are just kidding yourself. Do you really think some little mom and pop carnival ride lender really wants/could even afford to deal with a lawsuit? Even big corporations like CF, even though a lawsuit wouldn't affect them as much as some little ride lender, does almost everything they can to avoid one, meaning they do just about everything they can to make sure that their rides are in safe working order. Your probably more likely to get struck by lightning than be involved in an amusment park/carnival ride accident.

Thanks for that info

So they didn't think it was a problem?

Most would probably agree that long lines suck, so my question is what do you do to pass the time?

Has anyone noticed that some of the sections of floor up on the tower are warpped. There was this one section right when you walk out of the elevator that I and some other people steped onto at the same time and it made a popping noise and bent down, then when we stepped off it warpped back up again.

this is true
