Intresting CP Tweet

^ If you're talking about the Crystal Rock Bottling Company, we've known that for a little while now. -
Headed out to Kings Island on Friday, August 28 for my 11th visit of the season. I stopped on the way out and got something to eat then arrived at the park at about 5:45pm. After getting my pass scanned at the parking tolls, I headed to the GP lot and parked in GP 52. The parking lot was pretty empty, barely going past the huge Kings Island marquee. I headed up towards the front gate and there were only two turnstiles open, got my pass scanned and it looked empty when I entered. I headed over towards The Beast- it's been awhile since I've ridden it first. On recent trips to the park, that honor has gone to Diamondback. The station was mostly empty- and I hopped into the third row without even waiting! Always a good ride to start off your day at Kings Island. After this I headed to Diamondback where I spent most of my visit. Before this visit, I was standing at a measly 36 rides on Kings Island's tallest, meanest, and fastest roller coaster. At the end of the night- I ended up riding a total of 14 times bringing my total to an even 50. Most of my rides were towards the middle of the train- I think the airtime is a whole lot better there, but I got some in towards the front and the back as well. Gotta love the experience Diamondback delivers in Row 16! Little to no wait on all 14 rides, and Darlene was there as well. Her ride total is in the 700's, closer to 800. She was at 652 when me and Avatar saw her last Saturday, August 22. Once I got in my even 50, I decided to head over towards The Beast for a night ride. Haven't done one in quite awhile and it was awesome, just like it always is. The best night ride in the world as far as I'm concerned. After this, I headed over towards Vortex because I missed it on my last visit. Found another empty station here. Jumped into 1-1 without waiting, found it to be more faster and much more enjoyable than 5-1 in my opinion. Got back into the station, and hopped in 7-1 and went for another go. The airtime in 7-1 going down that first drop is absolutely amazing and it took me by surprize! By this time, it was almost 9:30pm, so I headed over towards Flight of Fear to see how the wait was there. You guessed it, another empty station. Got three laps in on this, two in the very front seat and one in the very back seat. I liked the very back seat much better than the front seat though. And that midcourse break was cooking tonight! It brought you to a complete standstill and slowly started moving again. Still a great ride nonetheless. As far as wait times go, this definitely has to be the best visit of them all. More TR's as I get out to the Island of Kings! Tee Hee! _________________ RIDE TOTALS Diamondback-14 Flight of Fear-3 Vortex- 2 The Beast- 2

King's Dominion Announces Planet Snoopy for 2010!
Hoeter replied to nhimes90's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well 4 out of the 5 former Paramount Parks have already announced that Planet Snoopy is coming to their parks next season. For some reason, I think that Nickelodeon Universe is staying at Kings Island. Call me crazy but I don't think that Kings Island would let their streak of "Best Kids Area in the World" go to the wayside. Just my two cents worth.... -
My favorite sound definitely has to be that distinct B&M roar. It's been even more noticeable on recent trips to the park.
-
As stated before, it will be available online here. Ryan will also post a link to it here on KIC. Hope that helps!

The Playstation 3 gaming system has a built in Blu-Ray player. The XBOX 360 does not. You can also get standalone Blu-Ray players at your favorite electronics store. Blu-Ray players will also play standard DVD's and will up-convert them to HD. If you decide to make copies of this documentary and sell them, count me in!

I second that corn4ahead! Why can't we be friends? -
Just got a call from a couple of friends who are going. I will go with them to support the cause!

Awesome! Can't wait til Friday when they post it on their website! Ryan, I got excited about this when me, you, and Jesse talked about it at the KIC event on Saturday. The only problem I'm going to have watching this is getting Zoomtown to play ball.

Great PTR.....thanks for sharing!

I almost won on that game last year. When it got towards the top, I got a little "trigger happy" and always missed stacking it in the correct position! Congratulations on winning a laptop, camcorder, and a PSP!

Kings Island should re-evaluate this IMO. Full price for a Gold Pass for 2010 is $104.99 and it does not include Haunt. This season, I paid $99.99 for a Gold Pass and it's got the usual benefits PLUS Haunt. They should lower the price on the pass then.

Thanks for sharing Avatar! I had an awesome time seeing familiar faces and meeting new people on Saturday. Here's to more KIC events in the future!

I've posted this in one of my trip reports but there was something that was said while in Diamondback's station by the person wearing the mic. "You are about to climb 230 feet into the air, and drop 215 feet and pass the world's largest indoor ferris wheel on the way!"
-
Sounds exciting. Can't wait to see what it is!

This is all starting to make sense to me now. We know that Kings Dominion is getting a NASCAR themed coaster and it's rumored that Carowinds is as well. Remember the website for Whyte Lightning? It said that Lightning Strikes Twyce. Then I just read an article that said NASCAR originated from the running of moonshine, also known as "White Lightning". Forgive me if I've come to the party a little bit late.

I've actually had the opportunity of riding The Beast with Gary earlier on in the season. Talked to him quite a bit and he's very friendly. Actually, that Beast ride occurred before I rode Diamondback for the first time, which was in early May. He had around 150 rides or so at that time. Congrats to Gary and to Andrew for reaching 1,000 rides on Diamondback. Darlene still has a way to go to catch up with her being around 650 rides.

When I was in the sign shop on Saturday, they had the sign for Son of Beast turned towards the wall.

I've never been to Cedar Point so I'm not familiar with Blue Streak. Obviously, I'm going to go with The Racer. Both sides are the same except for the turns, which are in opposite directions. Red seems much smoother than Blue on my recent experiences. And please keep in mind that The Racer sparked the second golden age of roller coasters, and it has an ACE plaque to show for it.

The menu boards in Rivertown Larosas changed from actual menu boards to LCD TV's. I've seen these throughout the park as well the entire season.

I think WCET is going to be at the park asking for your donations getting off of every ride since that's what they always do between shows. "You've just ridden The Beast- the longest wooden rollercoaster in the world. We here at WCET love being involved in the community, and if you make a generous donation to this station, we can make more events like this a reality. So please, support our involvement in the community, and support our fine programming such as Antiques Roadshow and Nova. Donate now, and we'll throw in this handy craft bag. Please support WCET and our efforts." Just kidding.

Also wanted to add that I took some videos yesterday and these can be found on my YouTube page.
