  1. Wait for Avatar to come in here and explain why he thinks the iPhone is a whole lot better than a Blackberry.
  2. Just curious as to which roller coaster at Kings Island has the best first drop. Here are my picks: 1. Diamondback 2. The Beast 3. Vortex 4. Racer 5. Son of Beast Which coaster, in your opinion, has the best first drop?
  3. 1. Flight of Fear 2. Vortex 3. Firehawk 4. Invertigo Not a big fan of Vekoma....
  4. Congratulations to Gary and Rich! If it wasn't for Gary, we wouldn't be here discussing Kings Island.
  5. ^ If you're talking about Red Racer, I noticed this on Friday night while riding in the front seat.
  6. Well, I've heard similar stories from people who call the park but Ryan confirmed from the park that it is included. Also, check this out. This pretty much confirms it. Sounds like Kings Island needs to bring this to the attention of their telephone representatives.
  7. On Friday, August 28, I decided to make a trip out to Kings Island because I figured that the lines would be fairly short due to schools being back in session, people working, and most high school football teams playing their first games of the season later that night. That being said, I decided to head up on Friday, September 4 after work for my 12th visit of the season because the lines would be fairly short like last time, but was a little leery of this because of it being Labor Day weekend. I arrived to the park around 4:15pm and found that the parking lot barely went passed the Kings Island marquee. I parked in Gold Pass 52 and headed up towards the front gate. It wasn't very busy up towards the front gate but I did notice that they had more turnstiles open figuring that it would be much busier with Labor Day weekend and some people maybe taking a vacation day resulting in a longer weekend. Started off at Diamondback- I got a total of 15 rides in on this trip bringing my season total to 65. Also, I never waited more than 5 minutes to ride Diamondback during this visit. During my 2nd ride, I got the chance to ride with Gary Coleman- one of the people that has already accrued over 1000 rides on Diamondback this season. I asked him how many rides he has so far and he said something in the 1000's or 1100's- I can't remember exactly. After this, I rode solo for three times and decided to head over towards The Beast where I walked on. The station was empty! After The Beast, I headed over towards Vortex where I walked on twice, once in 1-1 and 7-1. After experiencing 12 inversions in less than 10 minutes, I decided to stumble off Vortex and take a breather. I ran into one of my former co-workers who was visiting the park with his girlfriend, and I asked him if he's had the opportunity to check out Diamondback yet. He said no, and that he doesn't like rollercoasters all that well and the only coaster in the park he has ridden is Adventure Express. I offered to show him around and attempt to turn him into a "Ride Warrior" but he declined. We chatted for a little bit before we went our separate ways. After this, I headed up Coney Mall and headed back towards X-Base to see how the lines were here. Got in line for Flight of Fear and waited less than 5 minutes before I was on my way. Sat in the second to last seat and I think that the ride seems much faster back there. Following my ride on Flight of Fear, I decided to head back over towards Diamondback where I spent the majority of the remainder of the evening. On my first ride back, I got the opportunity to ride with Andrew Klenk, another person who has accrued 1000 rides on Diamondback so far this season. After this ride, I ran into Adam (PKIBoy) who was also with Gary Coleman and the three of us got a total of 7 rides in before me and Adam decided to head over towards Action Zone. Both of us headed over towards Action Zone. We went to check out how busy it was on this side of the park. Continuing through Oktoberfest, Adam and myself got a front seat ride on Red Racer on the way. We then headed back over towards Diamondback again. We ended up waiting less than 5 minutes before getting on and the line was almost back to the entrance with no switchbacks open. After this, I decided it was time to head over towards The Beast for a night ride, and Adam tagged along. Waited two trains for the front row and as always, The Beast delivers one hell of a night ride! After this, me and Adam headed over towards Diamondback once again and we got on the last train of the night. Following this, we saw Andrew Klenk once again coming up to us at Diamondback saying that he lost his wallet. While he looked through the bins that he put his wallet into, we got to watch maintenance put away the trains for Diamondback. It was pretty cool watching how this was done. More to come when I get out to the park again. Thanks for reading!
  8. Earlier on in this thread, post #41 to be exact- I stated that the B&M "roar" has been more noticeable on recent trips. I went out to Kings Island on Friday and there wasn't much of a "roar" that I noticed. Anybody else notice this?
  9. I've heard of Twitter, but I've never heard of Titter. Hee Hee!
  10. ^ If you're talking about the Crystal Rock Bottling Company, we've known that for a little while now.
  11. Headed out to Kings Island on Friday, August 28 for my 11th visit of the season. I stopped on the way out and got something to eat then arrived at the park at about 5:45pm. After getting my pass scanned at the parking tolls, I headed to the GP lot and parked in GP 52. The parking lot was pretty empty, barely going past the huge Kings Island marquee. I headed up towards the front gate and there were only two turnstiles open, got my pass scanned and it looked empty when I entered. I headed over towards The Beast- it's been awhile since I've ridden it first. On recent trips to the park, that honor has gone to Diamondback. The station was mostly empty- and I hopped into the third row without even waiting! Always a good ride to start off your day at Kings Island. After this I headed to Diamondback where I spent most of my visit. Before this visit, I was standing at a measly 36 rides on Kings Island's tallest, meanest, and fastest roller coaster. At the end of the night- I ended up riding a total of 14 times bringing my total to an even 50. Most of my rides were towards the middle of the train- I think the airtime is a whole lot better there, but I got some in towards the front and the back as well. Gotta love the experience Diamondback delivers in Row 16! Little to no wait on all 14 rides, and Darlene was there as well. Her ride total is in the 700's, closer to 800. She was at 652 when me and Avatar saw her last Saturday, August 22. Once I got in my even 50, I decided to head over towards The Beast for a night ride. Haven't done one in quite awhile and it was awesome, just like it always is. The best night ride in the world as far as I'm concerned. After this, I headed over towards Vortex because I missed it on my last visit. Found another empty station here. Jumped into 1-1 without waiting, found it to be more faster and much more enjoyable than 5-1 in my opinion. Got back into the station, and hopped in 7-1 and went for another go. The airtime in 7-1 going down that first drop is absolutely amazing and it took me by surprize! By this time, it was almost 9:30pm, so I headed over towards Flight of Fear to see how the wait was there. You guessed it, another empty station. Got three laps in on this, two in the very front seat and one in the very back seat. I liked the very back seat much better than the front seat though. And that midcourse break was cooking tonight! It brought you to a complete standstill and slowly started moving again. Still a great ride nonetheless. As far as wait times go, this definitely has to be the best visit of them all. More TR's as I get out to the Island of Kings! Tee Hee! _________________ RIDE TOTALS Diamondback-14 Flight of Fear-3 Vortex- 2 The Beast- 2
  12. There's a lot of interesting information in this documentary. Definitely a treat and was fun to watch! Thanks to all who were involved in making this documentary possible!
  13. Hope we can get an event organized with this. I haven't been in a couple of years and it's A LOT of fun!
  14. It also happened on my birthday as well, keep that in mind!
  15. Well 4 out of the 5 former Paramount Parks have already announced that Planet Snoopy is coming to their parks next season. For some reason, I think that Nickelodeon Universe is staying at Kings Island. Call me crazy but I don't think that Kings Island would let their streak of "Best Kids Area in the World" go to the wayside. Just my two cents worth....
  16. My favorite sound definitely has to be that distinct B&M roar. It's been even more noticeable on recent trips to the park.
  17. As stated before, it will be available online here. Ryan will also post a link to it here on KIC. Hope that helps!
  18. The Playstation 3 gaming system has a built in Blu-Ray player. The XBOX 360 does not. You can also get standalone Blu-Ray players at your favorite electronics store. Blu-Ray players will also play standard DVD's and will up-convert them to HD. If you decide to make copies of this documentary and sell them, count me in!
  19. I second that corn4ahead! Why can't we be friends?
  20. Just got a call from a couple of friends who are going. I will go with them to support the cause!
  21. Awesome! Can't wait til Friday when they post it on their website! Ryan, I got excited about this when me, you, and Jesse talked about it at the KIC event on Saturday. The only problem I'm going to have watching this is getting Zoomtown to play ball.
  22. Great PTR.....thanks for sharing!
  23. I almost won on that game last year. When it got towards the top, I got a little "trigger happy" and always missed stacking it in the correct position! Congratulations on winning a laptop, camcorder, and a PSP!
  24. Kings Island should re-evaluate this IMO. Full price for a Gold Pass for 2010 is $104.99 and it does not include Haunt. This season, I paid $99.99 for a Gold Pass and it's got the usual benefits PLUS Haunt. They should lower the price on the pass then.
