Boy I sure do love these polls! I was gonna go to the truck pulls tonight but thought that it would be more fun to sit here and wait for another poll to pop up! Andrew, sitting here waiting for another poll to be created. When will it happen? Only the OP knows.....

Welcome to KICentral Paul! I assume you've never been to Kings Island. If you haven't, you are in for a good time! Since you are new, I will share some things with you that will help make your visit more fun. Some of it has already been stated here. 1. Diamondback- So far this season, I have ridden Diamondback a total of 20 times. That being said, I have ridden it in almost every row but you must try row 1 or 2 and definitely row 16. The ride is smooth as glass in row 1 and 2 and you get good airtime, plus the thrill factor goes up because you have nothing in front of you but track. I highly recommend rows 1 and 2 but I also recommend row 16 as well because of the ejector air that you get, but it is a lot bumpier in row 16 than in the front. At the splashdown, you may get a little bit wet if you hold your hands up or down to the side. Diamondback is a ride that definitely must not be passed up! If you are going by yourself, there is a single rider line. This is a stand-by line only and will be used when odd numbered groups or solo riders are assigned seats by the separator. Preferred seating is not guaranteed and you may be able to request a row if you ask the separator nicely. 2. The Beast- Definitely ride this at night. I really don't care to ride this during the day. If you are going on Saturday, July 25- keep in mind that Kings Island will be open until Midnight and the best ride I've ever had on The Beast was after Midnight during Halloween Haunt. One of the best, if not the best, night rides in the world. That's all I have. Welcome to KICentral and have fun when you go out to Kings Island!

Rachel- Don't forget that first ride on Diamondback. That ride operator is our new best friend!
-
Don't forget what the ride operator said on the first Diamondback ride! "You will be passing near The Crypt- the world's largest indoor ferris wheel!" or something along those lines.

coaster_junky: Looks like the person riding in Row 15 is flipping somebody off.

Just to let you know, Darlene Bell is the woman's name. She has been mentioned on Kings Island Insider and she is also on KIC. Her name is darlagirl.

There's a phone in the elevator that goes up to the 275ft. level on the Eiffel Tower. Above the phone is a list of numbers, and Coney Mall is listed as "Coney Island" or "Old Coney".

Me and a couple of friends decided to go out to Kings Island on Sunday July 5th to celebrate my 22nd Birthday. My birthday is actually on July 7 but I decided to go yesterday because most people had the weekend off and I could get more people together. I actually thought that Kings Island would be an absolute madhouse with it being Independence Day weekend. Boy was I wrong! Me and my friend arrived about 11:00am and parked in the Gold Pass lot. There weren't many cars in the Gold Pass section, and even many cars in the parking lot for that matter. As always, my first ride of the day was The Beast. Two train wait in the station for the front row. Many rows on our train were empty. Next up was Vortex. They were running three trains, but only two were being dispatched with riders. I guess somebody threw up because every time the empty train returned to the station, 5-2 was cleaned and hosed down and sent on it's way. We ended up waiting 25 minutes for 5-1. We met up with a few more friends at this time and headed towards Flight of Fear. Waited 25 minutes for second row. After this, I needed to use the restroom. I had to walk down to the restrooms at the end of Coney Mall down by Vortex. They really need to put some restrooms back in X-Base. Following this, we went on Firehawk. Waited 30 minutes for second row on red train. Next up was three rides on Diamondback. All three rides had wait times of 20 minutes or less. Row 1, 3, and 15 on green train. After this, we headed to the other side of the park and walked right on Adventure Express. Then we headed to Delirium. This was my first time on Delirium, and it was awesome. From the ground, it looked like it didn't swing that high in the air. On the ride, totally different. Waited one cycle for Delirium. Flight Deck was next. Two train wait for front row. Short, but fun ride. Hope it isn't removed at the end of the season. The remainder of the day was spent at Diamondback. Got 5 more rides in: two in row 1, one in rows 4, 10, and 16. When I rode in Row 4, someone lost their phone and it flew off going down the first drop. I tried to catch it, but failed. Kudos to Kings Island for putting the big huge box of broken phones in the queue line. Ride Totals: DB-8, Beast-1, Vortex-1, FoF-1, FH-1, AE-1, Delirium-1, FD-1, Thanks for reading. More TR's as I get out to Kings Island!

Death At Disney World
Hoeter replied to WooferBearATL's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
So sad to hear. It must have been some sort of malfunction as Terpy stated. -
If you are tall, ride in 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, or 7-1 on Vortex. Any other seat will be downright brutal. Back on topic, I've never gotten a walk of shame on any ride yet. I'm 6'3'' and 280lbs. I have muscles, not all fat.

1. Trim brakes on Flight of Fear and The Beast. These are the two worst rides in the entire park when it comes to trims, IMO. 2. Basketballs- give it to the winner deflated. It drives me absolutely insane when someone repeatedly bounces a basketball. Also, when people throw said basketballs. I nearly got hit by one earlier on in the season and if one hits me, I'm tempted to pop the daggone thing. 3. Spitting on rides- this has happened to me twice this year, on the same ride go figure. If I see who did it- me, you, and KI security will be having a nice talk. Okay, I'm done now.

The Crypt gets my vote. It looked so cool when it was TR:TR, but we have none of that theming now and it downright sucks.

You could try taking the auto ferry from Augusta over to Brown County, or take KY 8 up and hit US 68 at the Harsha Bridge connecting Maysville to Aberdeen a few miles downstream.

I think someone needs to take a break! Andrew, he'll be here all week folks!

Thanks Diamondback FOF and Indianapolisman for the well wishes. He's been in the hospital off and on for the last couple months now. He is currently taking dialysis three or four days a week, and the doctor says even with dialysis that he could be gone in two or three months. Right now I am hoping for the best and praying for him every night before I go to bed.

^ I went out today after I got off work at 2. Started off with The Beast, and got an emergency call that my grandfather is being moved to Hospice, so I ended up only getting one ride in and that was on The Beast. Going to try again on Wednesday with some buddies from work, if everything is fine.

I haven't been to The Beach in about 5 years or so and I have never been to Boomerang Bay, even though I have a Gold Pass. The Beach was a lot of fun when I went before, especially the wave pool. It's definately worth checking out.

Thanks for sharing your PTR with us Sean! I haven't been out to Kings Island since last Sunday June 7, and that box full of cell phones wasn't there then. Way to go KI! Also, it saddens me that five people were line jumping while the security guard was checking his watch. Something needs to be done. And about that crane near Outer Hanks and Slingshot, it reminds me of a comment seen on here: "Bring in the cranes!" Yo enjoy-o trip report-o.

I think I've only blacked out on one ride, now that I come to think of it. I rode Invertigo a few weeks back and I seriously do not remember going through the loop. That being said, I think I did lose some brain matter because I'm crazy and stupid now more than I ever have been. Andrew, telling the truth.
-
This is off topic, but I consider it to be a little thing that I noticed: On the Kings Island page on Facebook, they say Diamondback has nearly given 500,000 rides so far this season!

Cedar Point puts Chaos flat up for sale
Hoeter replied to Brandon's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Angie will just love it if Chaos somehow comes to Kings Island! Green is a good color for you Angie! Andrew, shutting up now. -
As I stated in my 6/7 TR, I finally got the chance to ride The Crypt with the new program. The last time I rode The Crypt before this visit was last June. It was thrilling and had many fun inversions. The new ride, not so much. Swinging back and forth in an upright position and two inversions. Lame-O!

So you passed a 3 car pile-up on I-75 and a frietruck taking up two lanes? May I ask what restaurant these fries were going to? Andrew, just funnin' ya.

When going up the lift hills on Diamondback and Son of Beast, look towards the tennis center on the other side of I-71 and you'll see 700 WLW's diamond-shaped antenna.
