  1. I liked both Fury 325 and Intimidator 305. Fury 325 overall is the better coaster in my opinion. Intimidator 305, hands down, the most intense I've ridden. I didn't grey out on Fury 325. Rode I-305 six times back to back when I was at Kings Dominion in 2014. It took until lap # 6 for me not to grey out.
  2. This includes rides on Maverick and Valravn. If this included rides on Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force, it'd make it more worth it. Then again, you can always use the one-time Fast Lane for either or both.
  3. This was from Sandor Kernacs, Intamin's U.S. President http://articles.courant.com/2004-05-04/news/0405040040_1_roller-coaster-lap-bars-or-seat-superman-roller It's been discussed here before, wanted to add while on the subject. In a deposition in a lawsuit caused by an ejection from an INTAMIN roller coaster. Ejection--of which INTAMIN has had a number. B&M? None. At all. Building on what Terp said. How many B&M coasters have had to be redesigned right before opening or after it's opening season? None that I'm aware of. Intamin: 2007, Maverick and 2010, Intimidator 305 due to the forces placed on riders. http://www.coaster-net.com/news/1371-reworked-intimidator-305-opens/ http://www.wtol.com/story/6551773/cedar-point-making-changes-to-maverick-before-it-opens

  5. How many INTAMIN coasters have been installed in the United States since 2010? How many B&M coasters have been installed during the same time in the United States? INTAMIN: http://rcdb.com/r.htm?order=-8&ot=2&co=6837&page=1 B&M: http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&co=6831&page=1&order=-8
  6. "People will come. People will most definitely come" This is a quote from the movie "Field of Dreams" Remember this gem from 2013? https://www.instagram.com/p/abYpEJuOHj/?taken-by=kingsislandpr
  7. This reminds me of what Busch Gardens Williamsburg is offering. https://seaworldparks.com/en/buschgardens-williamsburg/book-online/extras/RollerCoastertours It's $80 and includes behind the scenes tours of 5 coasters. The below video features a tour of Loch Ness Monster, Alpengeist, Griffon, Apollo's Chariot (Fabio remembers it well), and Verbolten. I'd be down to experiencing this and what Cedar Point is offering.
  8. As previously stated by Don, an email will go out 5-7 days before the event, at which time additional events may or may not be announced. At the earliest, I would expect an email from him around the weekend, maybe next week closer to the event itself.
  9. Did it open up your eyes when you saw the sign? I know it did for Ace of Base. They did too. I walked right into this one. I got "Terpied" but not by the man himself...
  10. You'd be surprised all the old signs that they still have in the sign shop. Granted, the last time I was in there was 2009. Hopefully another tour is on the plate for Coasterstock! I'd love to see it. I remember hearing from a member here that some of the Red Racer or Blue Racer signs are there but sadly there aren't enough for all of the trains. Signs when Paramount Parks owned Kings Island. The sign for Top Gun was hanging on the wall. The sign to King Cobra also. The sign to Son of Beast, this should tell you what part of 2009 I took the tour. Just to name a few. This tour alone was worth the price of admission to the event. Was like the entire Son of Beast box shown?? All I saw was the sign.

  13. Nothing quite like riding the rails through a forest of dinosaurs, seeing that there's a huge time span of 60+ billion years in which dinosaurs last roamed this great land of ours and in which travel and shipment of goods by rail was conceived. At Cedar Point? Substitute train for an Intamin gigacoaster. At Carowinds? A B&M invert and a B&M hypercoaster. I don't see why they'd move Dinosaurs Alive from where it is currently. Just my two cents.
  14. Last year when I went to Myrtle Beach, I used my TomTom. Leaving from Eastgate, it had me take I-75 down to Knoxville, east on I-40 to Asheville, NC, I-26 to Columbia, I-20 there from there to Myrtle Beach. Seemed like forever to get down there. Return trip I took I-74 to I-77 up to Charleston, I-64 west from there and crossed over into Ohio at Aberdeen. I love that drive. One of the most beautiful in the world.
  15. TomTom gets me where I need to go. Bought it 5 years ago and gave $130 new for it- lifetime map updates and traffic included. It's paid for itself several times over.
  16. Root Beer Stand in Sharonville Jungle Jim's either in Eastgate or Fairfield If you're over near Putz's, may want to hit up J&J Restaurant on Glenway Avenue. Always a stop when I'm on that side of town.
  17. I know there are a couple of different ways to get there. My aunt lives over off of Blue Rock. Traffic, depending on what route you take, could be a nightmare. I-71 near Kenwood is a good example of this. Not sure if they're still working on I-75 around that area. It's been quite some time since I've been over that direction.
  18. From the park, take I-71 south to Exit 7, Norwood Lateral. Head west until the Lateral ends and then south on I-75 towards Downtown. Once on I-75 take Exit 4, I-74 West. Take I-74 to Exit 17, Montana Avenue. Keep going straight through the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Putz's is on the left.
  19. You do not receive an email when you register. A thank you notification appears on your screen upon submitting your registration. An email will go out 5-7 days before the event. Thanks for clarifying Don. I know that I've gotten some emails from you in the past with events I've signed up for. Wasn't able to participate in Coasterstock last year so I wasn't sure how it was being done.
  20. I did not receive an email.
  21. You're welcome. There's something I want to add. If Kings Island is getting a giga next year, I wouldn't expect track/supports to be visible or ready for shipment for a few more months. This picture was taken in August of 2011 when I lived in Mt. Orab. These are a couple of the many supports for Leviathan, the first of the B&M gigas for Cedar Fair.
  22. Perhaps I can yonder out that direction here in a bit and see if any new track is laying about. The last track I saw out there about 3 weeks ago was the track going to Asia for their new coaster.
  23. Check this out. http://clermontauditor.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StorytellingSwipe/index.html?appid=faba2e070a30404897820d1a9b54ba5e&webmap=424ea4b509b042ceb50dbc9774fa73a4 Comparison between 1972 in Clermont County and present day. East Fork was built around that time, I believe.
  24. Interesting. My grandparents owned a house over off of Twin Bridges Rd. in nearby Williamsburg. The State of Ohio bought their house (and many others around it), flooded the area, and the area as we know it is East Fork Lake today. From what I was told, very few (if any) of those houses were demolished Sorry to get off topic for a minute, but I wanted to add this to the conversation.
