Simply go on over to screamscape for a link to the survey, which includes the concept art, if you really want to see it. It really isn`t much to see. Just a couple pictures of cars and a sketch of the Addams family house. No sketches of actual rides, just the theme that would correspond to a ride.

I personally think that the Addams family ride concept looks pretty cool. I don`t know if we`ll see any of the rides for `05 or not. I don`t know about the italian job themed coaster/ride. It only has four people per train which could result in a low capacity ride with long lines, aka Face Off and Drop Zone. I think that PKI needs a long, high capacity steel coaster for 2005. We`ll just have to wait and see what the rest of 2004 has in store for this year and beyond in 2005. (BTW, the pictures over on thrill research are rather interesting, and if PKI were to theme an Intamin or B&M ride lto one of those themes, then wow!)

I don`t know where the PTC wood trains are stored, but the SoB trains were in the grove with the Top Gun, Vortex and Delirum stuff. When Jeff mentioned the Coney redevelopment, he also commented on how they have hired people to repaint the artwork on the Zephyr. Also, he mentioned how the Scrambler which is undergoing a major overhaul as already stated, will be painted a brighter color than the structures existing dull blue/gray. Instead, it will be painted, as I believe Jeff said, yellow. I have a hunch that these three rides are just the first part of a Coney renovation/expansion that will continue in 2005 with at least one new ride, possibly a coaster.

Just curious, but what is the squid? I take it is some ride in Hanna Barbera Land. But I don`t know of any ride that is refered to as the squid.

Out of all the areas at PKI, I most miss Rivertown. This is because it is the home of The Beast, the ride that got me hooked on roller coasters. Also, I consider The Beast to me my favorite wooden coaster that I`ve ever riden. I also like the feel of Rivertown with lots of trees close to the paths, and the forested line and remote location of White Water Canyon, which is one ride that you can`t see from the Eiffel Tower, because of all the trees that surround it. Even though I most miss Rivertown, I miss each area of the park as well. The park wouldn`t feel the same if an area was missing when it reopened. So in a sense, I equally miss all the areas.

I would have to say that out of those three, I most miss the Paramount Action Zone, because that is the only one of the three sections which have a roller coaster in them. Of those, the Action Zone contains a lot of good rides like Top Gun, Drop Zone, Face Off and Delirium, and a sometimes good Son of Beast. However, I still miss IS, with the fountains and the Eiffel Tower at the end of it with the Carousel tucked behind the tower. I miss Oktoberfest the least because it currently only consists of the Festhaus and Viking Fury. Adventure Express at one point was considered in Oktoberfest, but I believe the park considers it (at least in the rides department) to be in the Paramount Acction Zone.

Way back when that first opened, I too noticed the picking away of the wallpaper as well as the placing of garbage on the ledge before going down into tha main inside queue. Anyway, in the visitor feedback survey from Thrillresearch.com, I commented on those very things. Low and behold the next time I visited, they had fixed the wallpaper and placed plexiglass over it to prevent further picking. Also, they put a trash can by the ledge, to prevent a monster of gabage from collecting on the ledge.

GCI are the ones responsible for the Millenium Flyer trains as they are called. They allow for some nasty looking track layouts with severe and sudden banks. I personally have never ridden any of their rides, but I hope to experience them one day. As for CCI, they made some excellent woodies, however, that company has since been disolved and is currently existing under two different forms. Denise Dinn went out to Utah and is the head of S&S Power`s wood coaster division. I believe that they built one coaster in the Northwest. The other part of the defunct CCI is the Gravity Group, which I believe is based in Cincinnati like CCI was. They specialize in the design, and retracking/profiling of wooden coasters. I don`t know if they`ve designed any coasters yet, though. The manufacturer I would most like to see at PKI would have to be B&M because of their raw speed, height and elegant looking supports and track. Their rides always seem to look so graceful, and I wouldn`t mind one gracing PKI`s skyline in the near future. Also, since they have four across seating, they offer a high capacity. I haven`t ridden any Intamin coaters besides Volcano: The Blast Coaster and Superman Ultimate Escape at SF:WoA. I found those rides to be enjoyable (especially SUE as the lines were walk on all day I was there!). I really would like to experience Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster before I decide if I want PKI to get an Intamin coaster (I last made it up to Cedar Point in 1999!)

I`ve never tried Skyflyer or Slingshot yet I have seriously considered doing both of them, but each time I am not sure if they are worth the cost. Of the two, I think Slingshot would be more thrilling, and you have the added option of buying your on-ride video, for even more money. Sorry I couldn`t answer your question.

That is ture Beastfreak. They got rid of the old signs on the rides that used to have lights around them. I used to like that feature and I am sad that the only ride in which lights like that remain are on The Vortex. However, The Racer`s new sign looked really nice and catchy and fit perfectly with the Coney theme.

The new sign to replace the damaged one perhaps, or some fresh coats of blacktop to fix the old blacktop that has lots of potholes in it? Really the only sections of the park to not have an upgrade done lately are Oktoberfest and Coney Mall. (IS this past year with the foountains. Hanna Barbera Land this year with SDATHC and then tons of paint and work in `98. Nick Central in 2001, Rivertown in 2002, Action Zone in 1999, 2000, and 2003. Finally BB in 2004.) Bubba Gumps did open, but that is almost on the border of the two, and is an extremly nice improvement over the Oktoberfest Gardens. I think the next expansion/renovation/refurbishment of an area will occur in Coney Mall, possibly with the addition of a new ride in 2005, possibly of the thrill variety.

Just think how much the anticipation would gro if we had to wait another year? Besides, would you rather wait an extra year and get one world class coaster, or have the park rush things and build one in 2005 that is not world class? I don`t know if they are building a coaster in 2005, (I hope they are) but I will be happy with whatever the park decides to do.

I don`t know if AE ios being worked on other than its annual off season maintenance. But I don`t work at the park or in the maintenance department, so who knows.

Thank you derbeast. Yes, back to the characters now. Are there characters greeting kids anymore at the entrance on International Street? I only saw maybe one or two days this past year when there was a character on IS greeting kids. I believe it was Chuckie. I remember when they used to have two or three character greeting people at the gate.

Derbeast, a little off topic, but in your signature, what does T/S stand for? I know that The Beast is paired up with the Eagles, but that doesn`t help me figure out what T/S is. Does it denote that you are a supervisor? Sorry, if you`ve already answered this somewhere else. Thanks for the answer.

I still consider it a transportation ride, because it has the potential to stop at any point on its 1.1 mile circuit. Even though it may only stop in the Rivertown station, it is still transporting people through the woods, and past Water Works/Boomerang Bay. However, the definition of transportation rides is loosely defined and you can interperet it however you like. Whatever it is, flat ride or transportation ride, it is still a ride and is one of a dying breed: train rides in amusement parks.

The only thing on Adventure Express that would need painting is the track. I don`t think that the track necessarily needs painting as it is not terribly rusted and it doesn`t matter if its track is faded because it helps fit in with the wood that supports the track. Now if the track looked like one of the holding tracks on Goldrusher at Paramount`s Carowinds, then thney should repaint the track. Beastfreak, I know that the topic had been discussed before, in a thread about BB. Also, I know that the pictures came from the video they showed last fall. I`m anxiuosly awaiting to see the finished product of all the paint, landscaping and new rides when BB is complete in May of this year! I`m sure it will look awesome.

Speaking of the tower in BB, is that tan color the primer or is that going to be the finish color of the tower? In the video they showed in November and the pictures from their website, the tower is painted blue. Thos of us that are going on the tour on Friday might find out. Speaking of the tour, its going to be a bit nippy with a high around 32 on Friday!

BoddaH1994, as long as I can remember the tower has been its current teal color as well. If they painted the tower, they would apply pimer to the areas that have rust, before they put the finish coat on so that the rust won`t show through. I wonder how long it would take to paint the tower. Would it be able to be comletely painted during the off season? Or would they have to do some work in the post/pre seasons to have it completed?

Actually, the Eiffel Tower has been quite faded for several seasons now. You can especially notice the rust and fading by taking a ride up in the elevators. From pictures I`ve seen, the Eiffel Tower, when opened featured a color that was much darker and greener than the current teal color.

So both towers at the park are getting painted at the park over this offseason? I know the colors on Drop Zone were looking a little faded, but I would rather see Face Off be painted first as it has some visible areas of rust and is quite faded as well. But whatever the park does is ok. At least they have been focused on painting a lot of attractions an buildings lately!

I had heard that PKI`s Eiffel Tower was also supposed to be painted this year, but then I heard otherwise. The park will paint it when they see fit to do so. The paint color is called "Eiffel Tower Green" and I believe the original paint was supplied by Sherwin Williams.

Actually, most of the times I ride the train it is a round trip to relax. I haven`t been to Water Works in a couple seasons so I have had no need to utilizes the train to get back to WW. Especially since they built the entrance for pass holders from the parking lot. That has been one of the smartest things they did to the water park before this current renovation and transformation into BB. It was a major pain to walk all the way through HB and Nick and past the picnic groves with all the towels, sunscreen and change of clothes that are necessary with a trip to WW/BB. I will be returning to the water park this season for sure with the additions they are making. BB will be awesome, and I as many other probably are, will be getting a sneak peak on Friday. This past season, during Fear Fest, they had themed the train the best it had been since they removed the old animatronic figurines. All the halloween stuff they added made for a very entertaining ride and unique photo ops of the engine. Most people got off at the picnic groves to continue with the Halloween festivities under one of the shelters. I wouldn`t necessarily call the train a flat ride though. To me a flat ride is more like a spinning whirl-n-hurl type ride, although I do consider Drop Zone a ride. I guess I consider it more of a transportation ride since it has two stations. My most memorable train ride is when I rode it when a severe thunderstorm was passing overhead. Boy was there a lot of really close lightning. Everyone on the train was scrunched as close to the center of the car as they could get because the rain was raining sideways. By the time we returned to the Riv ertown station it looked like we had just riden White Water Canyon two times in a row. Boy, did I get way off topic. Sorry. Out of the two kiddie areas, what is the best ride to operate?
