  1. And how does the snake relate to the construction/removal of Italian Job Stunt Track and the Eagles? It seems they`ve wasted no time in preparing the site the Eagles sat on for the new entrance plaza.
  2. The lodge, if built, would be operated by Great Wolf, and not PKI. As a result, the indoor water park would not be open to PKI season pass holders, but guests staying at the resort only.
  3. Yes, the rumor is that the Great Wolf Lodge would be built on the current site of the PKI Campground with the park possibly relocating the campground elsewhere. If anyone took the recent survey from Paramount Parks, it focused on campgrounds, and restaurants. I thought I remembered hearing somewhere that the grassy area was not owned by the park. Thanks pkiDelirium for clearing that up.
  4. I don`t think IJST will be a well-themed Adventure Express. To me, it seems like the actual ride focuses more on a storyline of chasing cars. It is similar to Test Track down at Epcot. Personally, I think the concept of the ride looks awesome and so does the theming, if the park executes it well and maintains it. This ride will depend on the theming to produce a thrilling ride. This ride is similar to the rides at Disney, although the theming will not be elaborate. Clearly the park is headed in more of a themed attraction direction, with all the upgrades of late. Personally, I think it is working for the park, bringing a little taste of Orlando to Cincinnati. Granted, TR:TR and the other recent themed rides are no where near the detailing that Disney does, the theming does add to the ride.
  5. First of all, there is not enoughr room behind Boomerang Bay to build a new campgroud because Western Row Road is not too far to the south of the water park. Additionally, the grassy area in front of the water park and beyond the deep south park lot lacks trees for a campground (and it might not even be PKI`s land, I`m not sure if that is part of their land or not) Secondly, why would the park remove Top Gun just to put in a new coaster on it and the campground`s spot? True, Top Gun may require a hike to get to the station, but it is still a thrilling and fun ride. It would be sad to see the last Arrow Dynamic suspended coaster leave the park. Personally, I don`t see it going anywhere anytime soon. The Beast sits on 35 acres. Of those, I don`t know how many are wooded. A lot of the land The Beast sits on would be difficult to build a midway on top of because of the topography. And why would they want to build a ride back by The Beast, that would ruin the ride.
  6. The rumor that I have heard is that they will reappear in Nick Central and be themed to a Nick Toons Car wash. However, I personally, would rather see them reappear behind or near Fligh of Fear as I think they would fit the theme better there. Additionally, if they have a somewhat large amount of space between FoF, The Racer and AE. I don`t think that the space is large enough though for the Antique Cars to be relocated there. A flat ride would fit nicely there though, but then again, one would fit nicely on the old Flight Commander spot as well. There is also not a lot of room in Nick Central to expand, unless they removed something, either the Nick Theater, the splash maze or if they removed part of the picnic ground. Truth be told, we shouldn`t start to wander what the park is planning in 2006 yet. The park hasn`t even begun to vertical construction on their new ride for 2005.
  7. Well, from what I`ve heard, the park has already dismanteled the ride and part of the queue line for the Eagles. Do I agree with the dcision? No, but it is a decision that Paramoount Parks made, and Kings Island and us must live to deal without the Eagles. Besides, at least the park is getting a new coaster next year with what looks to be some decent theming.
  8. Well, in terms of the most recognisable pictures of Kings Island, I would say any that show the Royal Fountain and Eiffel Tower and pictures taken from atop The Best`s first lift hill.
  9. Any word on the status of the hotel? I know that Great Wolf and PKI were in talks about the campground site, but I never heard that anything was finalized and when it would open.
  10. Yes it was Pyscho Path, I rode The Racer yesterday around 9 o`clock and Pyscho Path was closed and gated off and there were a bunch of trucks on the path by it. I was wandering what was wrong because the trucks looked like firetrucks.
  11. i thought the film was pretty bad. There was no real story line to it, and the ending isn`t very climatic at all. The best part for me was seeing a couple of the Phantom Theater animatronics out, and actually working. I also liked how they were playing the old Phantom Theater music. It was great to see that they still had some of these in working order!
  12. I picked up a park map while I was at Fear Fest last night. When I got home and was looking at the map I came upon the listing for Tomb Raider: The Ride and this is what it said : "Tomb Raider: The Ride The Sequel- Experience a longer and more thrilling adventure as mystery and mayhem collide in an epic battle of fire and ice." Now I did not ride Tomb Raider last night, and I highly doubt that they changed the program on it this late into the season. But, could this be a hint that next year TRTR will have a new program? Did anyone else notice this in the park maps?
  13. I`m almost certain that the Eagles will remain in their current location throughout the remainder of the season. If they are moved next season, while the popular rumor is the old Flight Commander spot, the park could really move them anywhere in the park. I for one think the Flight Commander spot would be an excellent spot for them. If the Eagles are moved, it will be the second time they have moved to a new location at PKI. Originally, they sat where the Dogems were until the park built the new Dodgems building and moved the Eagles to their current location.
  14. I`ve always heard that it launches at 53 or 54 miles an hour. Not that 7 or 8 miles an houor really makes that much of a difference on that ride because it is enclosed.
  15. From the looks of the animation, the train will not be in the tunnel very long. Possibly only for two turns and a straightaway. As for the speed issue. I know that the PCW GM said the speed was higher, but I believe that the higher speed was in KPH and not MPH. I believe that 55 kph is right around 40 mph. IJST will not launch anywhere near as fast as what FoF does.
  16. And you know that the station is now gone how? Last I checked, the park wasn`t open during the week and the station was still standing on Sunday when I was there for P&G day.
  17. It is my understanding that the coaster will not be indoors. It will however pass through some sort of short tunnel before splashing down into/near the water, right before the end of the ride.
  18. That is true. I imagine that the lifts take up quite a bit of the track length. Since IJST won`t have any lifts, but launches which will be more thrilling than a slow 5mph lift hill. I can`t wait to ride this ride.
  19. Keep in mind that the top speed on Adventure Express is only 35 miles per hour. If this ride turns out to be close to 3,000 feet long, it will also be about as long if not a little longer than Adventure Express. True, it may not have a large thrill factor, but it looks to be a fun, reridable ride.
  20. I was up at PKI for P&G day on Saturday. I too saw that big white tent. They have a lot of work to get that thing ready for Fear Fest as there was absolutely nothing inside of the tent.
  21. Flight Commander was located in Coney Mall. The now dormant site where it once stood is right across the midway from Shake Rattle and Roll, a stonesthrow from the existing location of the Eagles. Flight Commander`s site is right next to the laser tag, which used to be home to a Cinema 180. Last year and for a couple season, the Flight Commander site was home to the Eurobungee trampolines. Before Flight Commander was built, the site was the home to the Zodiac, a giant double Ferris Wheel made by Intamin. That was probably more information than what you wanted, but I hoped I answered your question.
  22. Cool your jets, there is no need to shout! Anyway, time will tell if in fact the flyers will have a new location next year. I think that Flight Commander`s spot would make for a great location for the Flyers and give them some more visability to the midway.
  23. But that`s the thing. Relatively few people have made a trip down to Disney World and waited in the long, long lines for Test Track at Epcot. I for one didn`t find that ride as thrilling as Mission Space. PKI is bringing a unique, highly themed ride to the seasonal theme park market. I do dislike how lately they have been removing rides to install new ones, but I have heard that the decision to remove several of the last rides have been related to maintenance issues.
  24. Those are first generation Intamin drop rides. They do not have a large capacity and pale in comparison to the amount of thrills offered when compared to Drop Zone, which I believe is a 3rd generation Intamin free fall. Rides like the Hellavator at SFKK are 2nd generation drop rides by Intamin.
  25. I seem to recall a rumor a long time ago about making I-Street a separate part of the park with the shops and restaraunts open year round. There is one problem with doing an entertainment district on I-Street. It would make walking about the park very difficult. Say for example you were over in the Action Zone and wanted to go to The Beast. You would walk down I-Street and behind the tower into Rivertown. I don`t think logistically that would work. However, I do think they might do some retheming to International Street and make it like a Hollywood Boulevard at some point in the future. Didn`t PGA do that to there entrance plaza this season?
