  1. I don`t know how long Dollywood`s train is, but PKI`s track is 1.1 miles long.

    2005 Poll

Keep in mind that out of all the prototype rides PKI has installed, only one has been a flop. That would be The Bat which expereinced numerous mechanical problems which resulted in the park deciding to remove the ride rather than shell out the necessary money to fix it.
  3. First of all, I don`t consider Top Gun a kiddie coaster, thming or no theming. Also, Rivertown has more than three attractions. Actually it has 5 because the train and White Water Canyon are also parts of RT.
  4. Well there is the Chippery opening on International Street in a couple of weeks. Other than that, you will just have to wait and see when they announce next year`s ride. I`ve heard rumors around the middle to the end of summer. But those are rumors and may be completely false.
  5. If I`m not mistaken, the Goldpass preview weekend for Boomerang Bay (the 22 and 23 of May). I believe that the media preview is the Friday before BB opens to the public.
  6. I finally saw the entire video this past weekend. It was very well done in my opinion. I just wish I could have actually seen the entire thing. The glare off of some of the televisions was rather bad when I was in line. Also, there were some parts where I was standing in line too far away from a monitor see the video. I would like to have a copy of the documentary, if they are selling it.

    2005 Poll

I think that a tried and tru steel coaster would go over extremly well at the park. Maybe throw in a new looping element or something, but use exisiting proven technology. I think the park would benefit from having a new, large capacity steel roller coaster. I`m sure in time, the park will install that ride. After SoB, they are probably a little gunshy of adding a ride that will cost more than $10 million.
  8. Does Runaway Reptar have a maximum height restriction as well? I think it does but can`t seem to remember for sure, its been a long day.
  9. I wasn`t ripping everyone`s ideas. I was merely stating my opinion on the subject. I am sorry if I offended you. I do agree that Adventure Express is border line kiddie coaster. However, I also agree with the fact that it wouldn`t fit in Nick or Hanna Barbera Land. While it is possible to move coasters, it would be hard with Adventure Express because of its use of the hillside it was built on. Most of the land over by Nick and HB is relatively flat.
  10. They keep it. It is definantely not going anywhere after the new elevators they put in for this season, and the paint job they are in the process of giving it.
  11. Actually, I think it is Ann Donahue I believe, who is from Loveland. There is also an executive producer by the name of Carol Mendohlson. Ann Donahue is in fact also involved with CSI:Miami, and this fall she will also be involved with the new spin off, CSI: New York
  12. That`s right. I forgot about that. I forget her name, is it Carol Donahue? Or something similar to that. I remember reading about her being the producer for CSI and CSI:Miami. I think she is also the producer for another CBS show.
  13. I doubt it. I just don`t see palm trees being placed anywhere within PKI except for over in Boomerang Bay.
  14. I don`t think it could be the 17 year cicadas and The Bat. The math just doesn`t add up. Also, I remember hearing a cicada expert from the College of Mount St. Joe sayin that he would be surprised if more than a few stray cicadas found there ways to PKI. He said that most of these little critters will be within the 275 loop!
  15. Yeah, but they also mentioned the Steel Phantom at Kennywood, the Desperado at Bufallo Bills and a Six Flags park. Still very cool that they mentioned Kings Island, Son of Beast and The Beast in a national television show.
  16. What stops people from throwing stuff off of the Eiffel Tower is not the bars, although they do prevent the larger objects from being thrown. What stops people is the reminder in the elevator that dropping objects off of the tower is illegal. Additionally, there is signage on the top that reminds guests not to toss anything from the tower. If that was not enough, there is an operator stationed at the top who is in charge of walking around the platform to make sure that the guests are behaving and following the rules. While there is still a chance for someone to break the law, there, hopefully is enough of a deterrent in place to prevent them from doing so.
  17. I think during Winterfest they had some sort of live holiday show in the Paramount Theater. I don`t recall a 3D movie in the Paramount Theater. I do recall seeing a movie in what is now the laser tag building across from The Vortex.
  18. Monster always seems to have a line. This is in part due to the fact that it is a low capacity ride because only two of its six arms can be loaded at any given time.
  19. I don`t recall a laser show in the Paramount Theater. However, I seem to remember a Laser Light show on International Street. It might have been a special thing they had for Winterfest or something. I know it was a long time ago that they had the laser show.
  20. Are you refering to the Viking Ship? True, it might not be that exciting when compared to Delirium, but it is still a fun ride. Also, I believe that the Viking Ship has a fairly high capacity, and can fit 77 people per ride cycle.
  21. I don`t agree with the partial painting of the Tower. I`m assuming that the new paint will be a brighter green than the paint that is already on it. The two tones might just look awful. But, then again, you might only be able to tell the difference if you ride to the top in the elevator.
  22. I don`t think Adventure Express is going anywhere. It is still one of the highest capacity rides in the park. While it may not be the most thrilling coaster in the park, I find it to be an enjoyable, fun ride. An added plus about the ride is that smaller kids can ride since the height restriction is 44". Actually, the height limit for AE and The Racer used to be 42" a couple of seasons ago, but then they bumped it up to 44", I believe in 2000 maybe.
  23. Well, I haven`t been up to the island in the past couplr of weeks. So I don`t know how bad the Tower looked last week. I do find it odd that they didn`t do more painting on the Tower earlier. I understand they were putting in the new elevators, but I would have thought that they would have done some primer or preliminary work to prepare for the paint job in the winter. I just find it odd that they started painting the preseason is almost over. I hope the new paint makes the tower look good. PKI has been painting a lot of attractions the past couple of seasons.
  24. And at what park is this Spongebob`s Boatmobiles located at?
  25. If you miss the slide, then you can come to Coney and ride the 3 lane Super Slide. When that thing is running good, you get some serious air time on the final drop! Sometimes, we have to sprinkle some water on it to slow it down because people will coast off of the slide and the mat and onto the blacktop, almost hitting the fence by the exit.
