  1. Welcome! Don't feel bad, I always said that me and my mom's friend were going to play on one of those big electrical power station things on the side of the road. I always pictured us playing on it like a jungle gym and though I know it would never happen I always thought of it. Well I hope you enjoy the site!
  2. ^Maybe they were on the same train.
  3. http://www.kingsislandinsider.blogspot.com/ A jubilant Darlene Bell (front seat, left) takes her 500th ride on Kings Island's Diamondback roller coaster here, accompanied by a rides associate, Bryan Miller. The Dayton, Ohio native has visited Kings Island 28 times this season, averaging 18 rides per day on the park's new $22 million steel coaster. Lucky Bryan got to ride with her.
  4. 1. Flight Deck
  5. Since everyone was answered all of your other questions pretty good I will just answer your Crypt question. The Crypt at Kings Island is just like the one at Kings Dominion in this video except for a couple of differences. Instead of 2 rows facing different directions they are both facing the same direction. Also don't expect the free spinning flips that you see here, the flips that you get on our Crypt is where they lock the place where you sit in one place then the huge arms on each side turn you so you flip. Also the Crypt at Kings Island is indoors and used to have fabulous theming but now has almost nothing. Hope that helps.
  6. ^You would probably break a few ribs. Those otsr's are what keep you in one place during the ride.
  7. Sorry, my heart belongs to Flight Deck. Added 9 more rides to my count tonight!
  8. Great thread! Here's a couple of mine. During Haunt last year.
  9. ^hahahaha I used to live in Mason and pass that almost every day. Maybe that is why SOB is closed, he is going to walk from the structure to another ride that is always closed....The Crypt!
  10. Was Fabio there?
  11. ^I think it is like an automated attached signature that goes on every post. Or I could be completely wrong...
  12. You would think there would be some sort of announcement over the radio that the train is switching tracks so the drivers should be aware. Notice in the video I posted at about 1:30 that they could have been more aware and paying more attention to the radio and heard the problem.
  13. I never knew that DeLorean Rider! That is funny It was really a group error, everyone could have been taking the necessary precautions but were not. I know it was 2 AM but it is all about the safety.
  14. Fantasmic! is my all time favorite show! The music gives me chills and it is just a great family friendly show! We get to the arena 1 hour before the show starts and get good seats and every time the crowd starts to do the wave and it is a blast! Check out my video.
  15. ^They actually have a very smart system called MAPO and automatically stops the monorail if a train is too close. It is almost like block breaks on a roller coaster. In order to switch tracks the driver must override the MAPO and take the monorail into reverse over the switch track onto the new track. Well everything went bad that could have. Here is a great video explaining what happened and how this easily could have been avoided.
  16. Standing in line waiting for The Beast to re-open after the 4th of July fireworks a women points to the Crypt building and says "Look there is the Flight of Fear!" Not too bad of a mistake but I chuckled.
  17. The deal ended May 31st. Early bird gets the worm.
  18. Neither! Magic Kingdom baby!
  19. I'm working the concert Saturday!
  20. Being a ride associate is a very important job that requires a lot of responsibility. It is their job to make sure everything is running smooth and most of all safe. Some associates might find it a tad bit distracting when one person keeps coming back to the same ride and joking around and having fun with them. There are just some times where you must know when to stop so the associates can get back to doing their JOB. Yes part of their job is to guest relate, but not pay attention to just one guest and have fun with them. You have to realize they have a great amount of responsibility to run a brand new coaster that gets thousands of visitors a day. There are times when you can have fun with the associates and hang out and others when they feel that they should be working their hardest. As I said above, being a ride associate requires responsibility and safety, there are sometimes when an employee must be focused.
  21. My avatar looks more entertaining than what the Crypt is now.
  22. Very detailed and sounds like you had an amazing day. Hopefully I can see those crowds when I am up there July 23!
  23. Take it easy, the associate was probably just messing with you.
  24. There are pages and pages of different theories on one of my Disney World forums I belong too. I don't know what to think but I saw a video of the aftermath a guy too in the station right after it happened and it was very scary. They were yelling for the driver, who we now know was killed on impact, which is a very sad thing to think. Our deepest condolences to the loss aboard the Highway in the Sky- The Walt Disney World Monorail.
  25. Sarcasm....
