  1. I thought I was the only one. I was crushed when they closed Americana, my dad used to take me there when I was little. I know that there are several thrill rides and coasters that if they ever tore down, they would have to medicate me heavily from going into a severe depression.
  2. I even noticed that here. I looked out at our hummingbird feeder and there were at least 10 to 20 wasps and bees on the feeder when there's usually 1 to 3. The hummingbirds don't like them either, they won't go near the feeder if there's a bee or wasp on it.
  3. This is such a horribly sad incident. Although I don't know her, I can barely read anything relating to Kaitlyn's accident without tears welling up in my eyes.
  4. Bring a cooler with food and leave it in the car. And like Beast1979 said, there is no re-entry after 7 pm so eat before then. Bring gum, your mouth gets dry after screaming and yelling on coasters, and water isn't worth $3 a bottle (also prevents bad breath.. then again, I'm a girl and am rarely seen without a pack of gum ). Bring a few Tylenol (or whatever you take) just in case you get a headache. Riding coasters with a headache makes it a horrible experience, rather than an enjoyable one. If you can, try to wear pants with cargo, button, or zip pockets so your stuff doesn't fall out. Double, triple, and quadruple check those pockets before riding Invertigo, I've never in my life seen more junk under a coaster than that one. Don't wear loose fitting shoes either, some rides require that loose fitting shoes are removed. If you wear glasses, wear your contacts instead so you won't worry about losing your glasses. Bring sunblock anyway, and apply it in the car before entering the park. If it's sunny, regardless of the temperature, you will get burnt. The point is to have little to no loose articles, they are a pain and get in the way of riding time.
  5. *BUZZ* WRONG!!
  6. You took the words right out of my mouth. The few times I've been on a stand up coaster, I've come off with extremely sore calves. Doesn't make for a great experience trying to walk around a park.
  7. I love "Material Girl" by Madonna. It was my favorite song as a child, and it was the song that first got me to love music. So my mom would turn up the song whenever she heard it. Then I hear it played at a park I've been visiting for 12 years, and the nostalgia I feel can't be put into words.
  8. I retract my previous statements in the rumor thread. (I stated in a somewhat abrupt way that I doubted that this had ever happened, and I now feel as if I look like a moron.) The bottom of my shoe doesn't taste very good.
  9. I tried that.. I got so excited I couldn't sleep.
  10. I dated a guy who, when I asked him if he liked KI, said that he doesn't like heights or anything that goes upside down.. I was like, wow you just knocked out all my favorites in one shot..
  11. IMO Firehawk doesn't classify as an extreme terror ride. It's more exhilarating than anything else. If they wanted a ride that really scares some people, they should have featured Drop Tower and Slingshot.
  12. You might be a KI addict if you download songs you heard at the park, burn them onto a CD, and jam to it while you're driving. You might be a KI addict if you're at Cedar Point, see Maxair, and automatically think "Delirium!" You might be a KI addict if you no longer jump and get wide-eyed at the sound of the FOF launch. Guilty, guilty, and guilty.
  13. You might be a KI addict if you see a Mini Cooper and think "Backlot Stunt Coaster!" -Guilty.
  14. I have been visiting the park for almost 13 years and have never once seen it happen, or been on it when it happened. This "thingy" you speak of is called the car. They are not wires, they are cables, and I just looked it up to see absolutely no citation of when this supposedly happened. I'm going to pass that off as yet another silly rumor. You may want to consider switching to Firefox for your browser, they have a spell checker. I get very annoyed very quickly by people who are old enough to understand how to use a computer, yet they can't type to save their life.
  15. Saturday I was in line for Drop Tower, and I heard this guy loudly telling people around him that one time it got stuck going halfway up.. yeah, I'm sure that happened. I also heard someone say that they were tearing down Magnum from CP and hauling it over to KI, and that would be KI's new coaster.
  16. I drew MF's entire layout on the misty shower mirror yesterday. Does that count as a doodle?
  17. I figured it wasn't too busy because of Howl-O-Fest. I saw a lot of parents with small children, and a lot of the crowd headed for Nick U after they went through the entrance gate. FOF and Firehawk's lines were atrocious. I love Drop Tower. I even miss it when I'm at CP, Power Tower just isn't the same. I'll ride both sides of PT, but I'll get off it craving the rush I get from DT.. the taller and faster the ride, the happier I am. Jasper, I really am not trying to outdo you. I am just severely addicted to that ride.
  18. On one of my trips to KI this summer, I was in line for Drop Tower (imagine that), when I saw this guy grab the rails with his hands and literally jump and swing his legs over the rail. I called him stupid and smacked him with my empty water bottle as I passed him in the queue. I will admit that was pretty daring of me, and I don't plan on doing that again. Idiots like that just make me so angry. I'm not afraid to yell LINE JUMPER at the top of my lungs, or point them out to ride ops. Wait your turn like everyone else, or go home. We don't want you here.
  19. Drop Tower! I love the hum it makes going up and the way it rotates like an observation tower, the incredible view from the top (especially at night), the way my heart still does that little skip when I realize what I'm riding, the thrill I get from leaning over a little to look straight down from the very top, the adrenaline surge you get from the downward jolt when the latch releases you, the roar it makes coming down, and the way you thirst for that adrenaline rush so badly that you just have to get back in line and do it again.
  20. Jasper's being mean to me! *bursts into tears* It was so great: On my 11th ride, I ran all the way through the queue, up to the gate, and was the first person to get on the next ride. I leaned on the gate and just watched it until it was my turn. I was the only person in the whole queue, this was sometime a little after midnight. That was the single most amazing moment of my entire day at the park yesterday.
  21. I was eating Advil like candy for the next 2 days after my first ride on SOB. I cramp easily as it is, and I woke up the next morning with a back so sore I could barely move. I'm only 26, I'm too young for that! I only rode it the second time because I was with a friend that I don't see very often, and she likes SOB so I went along to make her happy.
  22. Not really, go check out my TR from yesterday. I got 22 rides in 13 hours. I vote for a backward Millennium Force.
  23. NO! MINE! You should have seen me jumping off my seat and running right back into the queue yesterday. You would have been so proud. Every single time, I screamed WOOHOOOOOOOO on the way down with my hands in the air and a huge smile on my face, I'm a little hoarse today but it was so worth it. That ride never gets old.
