^^ I'm guessing you wouldn't like this, then. The thing I love about the Dent Schoolhouse is that the entire 30 minute walk through is themed to a haunted school... the best lighting I've seen in my life, some of the best animatronics, and actors that really know what they're doing. (Not that Halloween Haunt screaming nonsense.) For those people that rode this in 2008, the 2009 season saw a lot of awesome changes... They moved the nurses' office to later in the haunt and made the (small) room a classroom. I counted over ten animatronics! My friend's mom knows someone who works here, so there's a good chance I'll be getting this job next October. I am truly afraid of working there! Edit- and for younger children, the dent story is staged/ not true .

I normally don't post if I don't have anything positive to say... As a Dark Ride Enthusiast, this news blows my mind. (In a very bad way) Now, being an optimist, maybe Cedar Fair is just gauging our reaction? ()

It seems like you had a great time! I won't be going to Kings Island for at least a month, but every time I think (or read) about KI my heartbeat picks up.

Ahh! The old truck gag. Believe it or not, this same effect has been used in Dark Rides since the 1950s (or earlier). Did some searching on DAFE and found the earliest one I could find. Wonderful website, by the way.

Actually, the only thing I was interested in was fixing ride theming and I think many people feel the same way... So this is a no go?

They've been saying that since the slide opened in/around 1985. They were the first, so I suppose they never got around to changing the slide's billing. Aztec Adventure is a very unique slide and interestingly does not use any sort of launch as modern water coasters do. Tubes get stuck all the time, but the airtime is AMAZING. This ride has more air time than most of the roller coasters at Kings Island... And watch out for the final drop!

The Beach Waterpark | rides & attractions: PARK MAP The title explains all. Something I find very interesting, a popular slide is missing, from the map AND the website. The slide beyond Snake River Rapids and the goat farm is not listed anywhere... Maybe this means something? Edit- Nevermind. I overlooked Snake River Rapids. Most of the slides have videos and POVs. It also appears The Beach will be getting a webcam.

You really got Charlie Brown to kick the football? Thats awesome! I'm happy to see the new characters are giving more than just hugs and pictures.

I have never heard of the band Hanson, but I am very interesting in going, to see how Coney Island handles the event. I'm thinking Hanson has a hit song or two? (Maybe not...?)

Working on a ride with such a bad history is a big risk (lawsuits, mostly), so the companies naturally will charge quite a bit more. Wether Cedar Fair is willing to pay the amount of cash companies are offering, I do not know.

Snoopy is famous for grabbing Linus' blanket and 'launching' him quite a way, sometimes in an attempt to steal the blanket, other times, just because he enjoys doing so. Charlie Brown is known for being the pitcher (and manager) of their never winning baseball team. Snoopy does surf in quite a few strips, but is often thrown off the beach before he has a chance to. ("No Dogs on the Beach") IMO- Race for your Life Charlie Brown' and 'Boo Blasters on Boo Hill' are both poor names. The rest of the ride names are very catchy, and pretty good.

When I first saw this topic, I felt like I was on Drop Tower waiting for the car to drop... I'm fine now, though. Thanks for this info on New York's Coney Island.

I personally do not see Death Row getting changed till next season... Its rated very well, and had its name changed only a few years ago. It seems that Kings Island often changes one outdoor haunt and one indoor haunt. (And they did hint toward two new haunt attractions in a 5@5.) I really see Kings Island getting a 'Doll Factory', with all the buzz going on in Sandusky. (And Carnevil already 'sort of' matches.) This leaves one outdoor haunt... Corn Stalkers is generally disliked by the many.

^ The problem with that: Its hard to keep people moving inside the Haunted House, unless there's someone to keep them moving through the entire attraction... People (mostly teenagers) love to hang out in those places, disrupting other patrons, messing with the animatronics, and who knows what else! Seriously, Kings Island has enough trouble with teenagers during haunt, anyway. (Though I wish the employees would stop stereotyping teenagers... One employee in particular acted extremely rudely to me last Haunt, because of my age)

I thought this would be an interesting poll... What type of KI season pass do you have? Also, what do you all think about the different pass options?

I guess this leaves two options. 1. SOB will reopen in a few years with steel track, and also a different name. 2. SOB is done for... The more likely of the two, you decide. _________ I myself go with the 2nd option, and I believe the following happened during the offseason: 1. Last winter Cedar Fair had been 'looking in to' different options for making the ride experience better. 2. Cedar Fair's management decided the only good option would be contracting Intamin to steel track Son of Beast. 3. A few weeks before opening day, Cedar Fair received the information on what retracking would require. 4. A few days before opening day, Cedar Fair management decided they could not afford whatever Intamin had been offering. 5. Having forgotten about the sign, a manager noticed the SOB box on an opening day PTR, and had it removed the next day. Seriously there is only one reason to me thinking the first option is unlikely... Cedar Fair hates renaming rides!

Actually, something like that could happen... What if KI were to receive the first launched wooden coaster? I know GrandSon of Beast would not be a suitable name, but maybe someone could play the words, to sound better and mean the same thing... Beast Baby, Anyone?
