  1. Methinks someone from Cedar Fair saw this thread... And to combat what people said earlier, They actually Cared. I'm not being sarcastic, here. I really believe the program they use for their passes is really bad, and it has taken Cedar Fair this long to make the fix. See Power School used by Cincinnati Public Schools... A horrible grading program that continuously gives out problems for students and teachers, and is almost never correct. (4 out of my 6 teachers complain openly, and often about Power School.) Why the State of Ohio did away with Parent Connect in the first place, I shall never know.
  2. Thanks for that information. I'd most like to be a landscaping/ watering guy, though I'd enjoy operating the rides as well. Would I have the opportunity to suggest rides I would like to run? I myself would most enjoy running the Tilt- A- Whirl, Tempest, or Carousel.
  3. I had known you knew what you were talking about, and was just wondering what the ride was. For a second I was thinking Coney had had KI styled antique cars. Edit- I'm going to start working at Coney Island next year (for the 2011 season.) Are 16 year olds allowed to be handymen? (As in people that dump trash, clean pathways, water gardens, etc.) I'll almost certainly be getting my eagle award this coming fall, so I'd think I'd be qualified.
  4. Now that school's out, I finally had a chance to look up Monster Mansion. ( )This ride looks awesome! Enchanted Voyage was themed this well?
  5. Quote from Coney Island Central- All I can say is, What!? Wasn't sure where to post this...
  6. I'm sure the park could advertise having wifi, even going on to saying Tower Gardens is a wonderfully peaceful place to finish your term paper or whatever... Seriously, things like this are awesome when convincing people to come to your park. KI's management just has to think outside the box.
  7. How would this effect you, if season passes were no more?
  8. Yet, there are Cedar Point test seats that don't match the real seats... I agree that seats should be getting larger as the average American does, but I don't agree the seats should be made to fit people who are really obese... Weight can be lost, much harder for some people than others, but it can be lost. Not being to be able to do all the things they love is a push for obese people to exercise and change their diet, to eventually become much healthier. If everything were made to fit for everyone, where is that push to become healthy? (And by obesity, I mean the top 10% in weight...) The main problem, many people lose hope early on in their weight loss program... There are commercials to stop smoking, so where are the commercials giving encouragement on losing weight? Obesity is much more serious of a problem, nowadays.
  9. Seems to me this is a combat for Kings Island's "Fun and Only" campaign. Coney Island's marketing team might be trying to get people to think whenever they see a Kings Island ad, "Kings Island is not the 'fun' and only... What about Coney Island?" I suppose this works both ways... Some people might see a Coney ad and think, "What about King Island?" This is a very clever move. (If, of course, I'm not thinking this too far out.) Edit ^ I suppose Americana was not profitable during the Park River Corporation Era? What's the point of being angry at Mr. Couch? He closed and then tried to sell an amusement park that was losing money. I would do the same thing. (I know he did screw up Americana's marketing, but still...)
  10. I had a dream that The Interpreter decided he no longer loves Volcano: The Blast Coaster... Thus creating havoc on the forums!
  11. Kings Mills log flume was located in Rivertown before Nick Central moved in, but the actual ride was not relocated. Nick simply swallowed up part of Rivertown.
  12. ^ Hear! Hear! There's a good chance that I'll be too tall to ride the stuff with over the shoulder restraints. For most rides you can slouch a ton in order to fit, but it really takes away from the ride experience... And Vortex hurts like heck if you're 6' 9'' and still manage to fit. My father has this problem with height. My grandfather and uncle are even taller. I'm going to have to ride all the rides I can ride before I turn 18.
  13. ^ Is Coney Island planning on keeping the Kiddie Circle Freeway in storage, along with the Spin-A-Ree? And having the fire truck as a photo opportunity, thats a great idea!
  14. ^ I had thought ride assignment was a very new thing. The more you know!
  15. Rebuild the Cedar Point Cyclone! « The Coaster Blog
  16. We all know KI has a large variety of great family rides. Now, which one is your favorite? I left out AE, BLSC, BBOBH, and the Eiffel Tower.
  17. ^You've got me there! *Goes to post a newer, fresher Pooh*
  18. This park looks awesome! Sort of like a mix between 1970s KI and Magic Kingdom. Now I must ask, which do you prefer, Kings Island or Europa Park?
  19. I had no idea how well themed Europa Park was. Can't wait for more pictures!
  20. I love these comics, too! They used to be syndicated by GoComics, but were removed a while back. The ones I'm posting are from Truthandbeautybombs.com (http://www.truthandbeautybombs.com/bb2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2534&hilit=garfield)

  21. Flight of Fear's alien test tubes... a very neat piece of theme to the ride. I'm wondering what exactly these 'aliens' are. I'm guessing dressed up mannequins? I know the outfits these 'aliens' wear have been changed before. Also, does anyone have any good pictures? The RCDB pictures do not show the inside of the tubes. I remember a princess, a reds player, and a Bengals player...
  22. You all talking about Manhattan Express? Here's the
  23. Rust takes over faster than one might expect... I'd say this ride has no more than 10 more years, and thats a stretch. (Unless, of course, Cedar Fair decides to work on removing the rust/ painting.) It does appear the supports have been painted recently.
  24. ^ In relative terms... It is very expensive compared to most places outside of Kings Island. Around 4 bucks for chicken and rice, but the portions aren't all that big. Better than a $3.50 slice of pizza, but still...
