  1. Egads, it was the most painful ride ever prior to the seat dividers! I remember riding it back then and the guy next to me and I kept cracking each other's skulls together. FWIW, I rode Beast this weekend, and it was great. In comparison, when I rode SOB ("Unloved Son" as it was dubbed on the headstone on The Beast lol) the last year it was open, I came off feeling like someone had just beaten me with a pillowcase full of doorknobs.
  2. What was weird is that there wasn't a lot of wind on Friday night...but I noticed all the "tower" type rides (WS, DT, and the Eiffel Tower) were shut down.
  3. Was at Haunt on Friday night, and WindSeeker was down. I noticed that Drop Tower, which had been running earlier that night, appeared to be shut down as well. Wasn't sure if this was just coincidence, or is there a temperature or wind velocity at which they are closed?
  4. Did anyone go this weekend? If so, was it any different than last year? Wasn't sure with the Trick or Treat with the Dinos thing...
  5. There was like no one there on Friday. Probably due to it being 100 degrees! But it was a great time - walked on basically everything, including The Beast at night, which is the greatest ride on the planet.
  6. I renewed mine online last year with no problems. It's funny, because if we keep doing this year after year (and never getting new cards/reprocessing), I think they'll start looking at my son funny because he originally got his photo for the pass when he was 4. lol
  7. Can't wait for this. Long overdue, and the family changing rooms are a GREAT idea. Boomerang Bay is always jam packed on hot days, so it will be nice to see this happen. Thank you, Kings Island!
  8. I would guess it is safe to assume the water attractions in the main park will be running, right? White Water Canyon, Congo Falls, the thing in Planet Snoopy where kids run through and get drenched?
  9. Ah, ok, that makes sense. What a bummer. Maybe I should just delay going til Sunday...hmmm...
  10. I hopped on and was shocked to see Boomerang Bay is not open tomorrow per the KI site...can anyone verify this? It's going to be approximately 1 million degrees, will be quite bummed if we can't go over there.
  11. I can report it works great for the iPhone as well. RD
  12. Bummer. I have a five-year old that will be quite disappointed. Oh well, there's always YouTube! lol RD
  13. Was the You Mix It Icee stand there he last year in Coney Mall? I didn't remember that one...may have been there for years, though. RD
  14. All these great train shots make me really miss the theming that ride had.
  15. And he came through. Check out my new avatar.
  16. Not to sound more like a dope than I usually do, but where would I find this? Your help is appreciated, believe me!
  17. These photos are great! I just hope we get a Rotor photo to replace my (very non-KI) Rotor avatar!
  18. Ahh, gotcha. Going to be very crowded back that way this year! Thanks! RD
  19. So the entrance will be near Action Theater?
  20. Looked around a bit, but didn't see an answer to this...where is Dinosaurs Alive going to be located? Thanks, RD
  21. Agreed, and there are days at Disney where you can walk on rides with 5 minute waits as well. But there are also days at both WDW and KI where guests are waiting over an hour for the rides. Think about it from a non-season pass holder perspective. Let's say, for instance, you went during a weekend day in the middle of summer. Lines are generally long then. Some folks don't have the option (or knowledge) to go on a non-busy day. Why not make it more enjoyable for them? I guess I just don't understand why this would be a bad thing. It would cost a few more employees' wages. It would require some kiosks. And yes, it would require some planning to make sure that the system operates efficiently (which is probably the biggest risk of the entire proposition). These are all solvable problems, and the benefits would be great. Just the buzz of KI having a system that ensures you don't need to wait in line for an hour to ride Diamondback may sell a few more season passes. And wouldn't that be the goal? RD
  22. Exactly my point. So again I ask...other than some additional cost to the park (that will again, make guests HAPPIER), where are the negatives to this? Sure, the lines aren't as long at KI as they are at Disney (to be fair, though, earlier this summer I waited over an hour for Firehawk), but even if they shave 20 minutes off a wait, wouldn't we all like that? Isn't that the reason we go on 'non-busy' days in the first place? RD
  23. Interesting. I guess the folks I talk with about it simply understand how to use the FP system and thus love it. In fact, when my Dis friends go to KI they all, without exception, ask the same thing: why no FP system at KI? Thanks for chiming in, very interesting discussion we're all having here. RD
  24. Terpy, do you know the reason why the park doesn't want to use it? Just cost (staff + machines)? Wasn't sure if there was something more to it that I was missing... RD
