  1. I think you made the right decision. I like KI's atmosphere much more than CP's.
  2. Ah... Thanks! And here I was thinking it was some sort of thing between Vista and XP...but I don't remember ever clicking that. I feel like an idiot right now, haha.
  3. Okay so I think this changed maybe a month ago. I use a few computers to get on here. One has Windows Vista, and the other has XP. On the XP one, in a thread, there were just posts as you scrolled down. On the Vista computer, there would be the first post, and if you scrolled down, then there would be a list of posts with the first few words, and you could click on one if you wanted to read it. I really liked the layout of the Vista version. However, recently the Vista computer changed over to the layout of the XP forum: just posts as you scrolled down. Any chance of bringing this back? Anyone have an idea of what I'm talking about?
  4. It features the newer Vekoma track, in which the wheels run on the outside instead of the other ones that run on the inside. This makes me think the trains will be the new 4-across trains, which use that track. Here's the link.
  5. Is it just me, or does Xcelerator look very under supported? Oh and by the way, in our hotel in Atlanta, at the breakfast, they had Knott's strawberry and grape jam. Same exact font as the logo for Knott's Berry Farm. Does Knott's really have a berry farm?
  6. ^Yep, just like everything else that has to do with Haunt. Seriously though, there was no point in that show.
  7. On my first day of school, I had some good ones. First of all, I was in Jazz Band, 2nd period. My director, who goes to KI a lot said "How was your last day of summer? I was going to go to Kings Island but I couldn't," and a kid yelled out "I've ridden Diamondback 5 times!" You have to realize that I (who has ridden it 80+ times), my friend (who has ridden it 60+ times), and another girl were in the room (who had ridden it 100+ times) at the time. My friend and I just kinda looked at him. The second part is strikingly similar to one of Jackson's. I was in Language Arts, 7th period, when a kid I knew asked me if I had reached 100 on Diamondback. I said no, but I was at 87. I told him that people had already reached 1,000 though. He said "well I bet there were already people with 1,000 before it came out because they moved it from some Six Flags in Alabama." I was like "First off, there's no Six Flags in Alabama, second, do you know how much it would be to relocate a coaster over 200 feet?" Then, the same kid, said "I wish they would have put the loops in." I asked what he was talking about, and he said "They were planning to put loops in, but they got short on time so they just left it." I told him that I was in Rivertown on August 6th, 2008, when Diamondback was announced, and there were no loops. He told me that the model at the front of the park had loops, and I just said "Noo...".
  8. Well on topic, I think the employees at KI are friendly. Occasionally you'll find one that isn't. Like when a cashier at Skyline on I-Street thought my $10 was a fake, and was very rude about it...I'm a 13 year old, and I fully support the park.
  9. What?! When did this happen? Do you have any more information? How did you hear this?
  10. Perhaps about 10 minutes after each patron leaves the attraction, a scareactor, dressed as a postal employee, can present the most frightful part of most medical care these days....the bill. Wait a second...I remember waiting in line out by the Lazer Dome building and and man dressed as a postal man was riding around in a wheelchair...
  11. Inappropriate. We left quickly after seening a few scenes.
  12. I hope it's not like what they had last year, the Dead Awakening I think. That was really messed up.
  13. It'd be interesting at first, but after a few minutes don't you think it'd get boring?
  14. Probably Diamondback haha even though I've only ridden it 87 times. After that maybe Vortex, Beast, or Son of Beast. Or Racer. Edit: Oh and Beast1979, you're right, a trip does not cut unless you have a ride on The Beast. You know, I don't think I've ridden The Beast during the day since May.
  15. Yeah it's my #2 steel behind Griffon both are amazing. But I like Voyage more than both

  16. I picked DB for the finale. Racer is my least favorite. Dirty walls! Yay!
  17. ^That's not good. My mom said if I ever lose my phone she won't get me new one so I have a special pair of shorts with a zippered pocket that I take to all of the amusement parks. Last year during Haunt, I had lots of coins in my pockets, and when I sat down, the all emptied into the seat, sure enough, when we started moving, they were flying all over the place. I was a bit scared. Also, I had my pass in a cargo pocket on the Diamondback announcement, and we were about to go on Vortex, when I realized it wasn't in any of my pockets. We hadn't even ridden any inverting rides yet!
  18. Uhm....ok..... I just think that Diamondback will ever be able to beat Millennium in my opinion. Millennium doesn't have 5+ airtime hills but it's not meant to. It meant to just be about height, speed, and positive G-forces. Still, as of now I'm only speculating. Who knows? After I ride Diamondback it might be my favorite coaster forever. For now, though, I'm stickin' with Millie. It's all about opinions. Certain People like different elements better than others. Nobody is right. However I wholeheartedly agree with you. It is unfathomable to me how someone could like Diamondback better than Millennium Force, all factors considered. Kings Island is my home park, so I've ridden DB quite a few times. I just got back from Cedar Point a couple hours ago so my memory is fresh. Millennium Force is far, far, far superior in my book. After this visit to Cedar Point I still like MF, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum, and Raptor all better than DB. I think the only factor that DB edges MF in is Airtime. Speed = MF (close) Height/Drop = Diamondback (design of drop is better, but MF for height) Intensity = Diamondback (part in between the tunnels is kinda boring) Theme = Tie (both have pretty inexistent themes, both with themed stations and audio) Appearance= MF (DB just looks like another coaster at Kings Island. MF has this aura about it. Even though it is not the tallest at Cedar Point, It isn't really dwarfed by anything.) Trains/comfort = Diamondback (This isn't even close. Diamondback's restraints are so much better, and trains are more open). Smoothness = Diamondback. (Db is ultra-smooth. So is MF but it's shaky at the bottom of the drop.) The splashdown feature on DB is nice-looking, but does nothing on the ride unless you're in the very back seat. This is actually my least favorite feature of DB. Fixed . Again this is MY opinion.
  19. 1. Diamondback 2. Beast 3. Son of Beast 4. Vortex 5. Racer
  20. I only went into 3 (Urgent Scare, Trail of Terror, Worksite), and Trail of Terror was by far my favorite. Urgent Scare was just completely gory, not very scary, Worksite was horrible, no chainsaws at all (the logo had a chainsaw), nothing scary. However Trail of Terror was especially erie, and it had some really funny and scary moments, like when you had to crawl through the tunnel.
  21. Sweet! I think my dad and I are going to go to Halloweekends sometime this fall, and I won't miss these haunts.
  22. Acrophobia is a gyro drop where you're standing. It's in the TR. EDIT: Whoops I was beat to it.
  23. Not reridable? I rode Top Thrill Dragster 8 times within a matter of an hour one morning. Millennium Force I could ride all day. Not to mention Raptor or Wicked Twister. What can you ride over and over at KI? Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Flight Deck, maybe Beast. Big Bad Wolf is gone. Again, this is all my opinion, just like the Golden Ticket awards are someone's opinion. Take a look at the bolded words. I said that Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force lost some thrill for me, just like they did with DaveStroem. People can prefer different rides, you know. Diamondback, Vortex, Flight of Fear, Flight Deck, Drop Tower, Beast (especially at night), and Backlot Stunt Coaster all have relatively good reridability. In fact, I prefer Beast at night to anything at CP. And I'd take Diamondback over everything besides Maverick. Oh and it's quite a shame to see Big Bad Wolf go. That drop towards the river is priceless.
  24. Diamondback Beast Racer Flight of Fear Flight Deck Drop Tower Adventure Express Blue Streak Raptor maXair Wicked Twister Power Tower Magnum XL-200 Gemini Maverick Millennium Force Top Thrill Dragster Wildcat I said percentage. I guess I should have said proportion, but I didn't say which had more good rides. Not to mention you're missing some on both sides, IMO. And I don't think CP's rides are as reridable. Like Millennium Force and Top Thrill have definitely lost some thrill for me. Maverick and Magnum are the ones that I think deliver consistently. Ditto. They don't have many rides, but none of them are bad. Big Bad Wolf, Loch Ness Monster, Griffon, Alpengeist, Apollo's Chariot. Plus all of them are very reridable.
  25. Here are the pictures. My phone doesn't have the best quality but it's not bad. ESPN College Gameday. It was pretty sweet seeing it in person. Yes that is indeed a cow riding a blimp, giving out cow actuion figures. Superman's drop and going into the pretzel loop. Look at the cool queue theming. Great American Scream Machine. Pretty awesome. Best ride here: Goliath. Looks a bit like Diamondback, don't you think? The Batmobile with some awesome Gotham City theming in the background. Mind Bender's drop and loop. Batman going up the hill and a cool shot of the zero-G roll. Georgia Scorcher, the best stand up coaster ever! It's pretty twisty. Acrophobia is taller than Godzilla. I honestly can't say I knew that.
