Because Disney seems to be more kid-centric, whereas parks like Kings Island or Cedar Point seems to appeal to everybody. Disney's whole image is about family and kids. It just seems so below them to have an incident like this happen. As annoying as the woman in the video was, she had a point when she said "your in Disneyland, there are kids here."

Yet again, greed wins over everything else. If there's one place that shouldn't be serving alcohol, it's a Disney park. If people become upset about no alcohol being served, tough luck. I'm a drinker myself, but for God's sake if an adult can't go a couple of hours at a Disney park without having to have a drink, then they have issues. Also, I don't know if Disney has an actual police force or not, but if not, they need one. Sadly, with the way the world is these days, these type of places should have professional police forces and not just "Paul Blart the mall cop" types making minimum wage. That guy needed to be restrained and handcuffed because he was a danger to others. Hopefully, this forces Disney to review their policies.

That'd be great! I loved that haunt. Somebody refresh my memory. Did you have to go downstairs below for the Curse of the Crypt haunt? It's been so long ago that I can't remember exactly how it went.

I agree. This is a ride you'd expect at Disney. Not at a seasonal park. I'll never forget my first time on the ride. Everything about was just so new and revolutionary, at least to me.

What a sad ending to a once great ride. I remember when this ride first opened. It was such an immersive experience, almost on par with the likes of the Disney attractions. From the themeing to things such as the rock (for lack of a better term) movie screen raising up and the rock doors sliding open, it was such an amazing experience. For someone who is no fan of waste, whether material, monetary or otherwise, I hate to see something just go to waste like this. A waste of money, a waste of materials, needlessly taking out the Canal logflume ride, etc. They didn't even get ten years out of the ride. But hindsight is 20/20, I guess. And one could say this about many other things in this country besides The Crypt. However, I knew something had to be done about the ride. After riding it the past few years, it was just pitiful. I often felt as if they should've just shut it down, rather than continuing to run it as a half-ass ride. There's nothing worse than half-assing something. If you can't go full-bore with something, then don't do it at all. I do hope they eventually tear the "box" down and just start completely over. That's all they need is another dormant ride just sitting there year after year, while they drag their feet deciding what to do with it.

I totally agree with you on this. Unfortunately, it's a sign of the times in regards to society these days. People expect everybody else to do the work for them. Nobody likes to take the initiative anymore and do it themselves. I am completely different. I always try to find the information myself and only after exhausting all of my options and coming up empty would I actually call them up to ask about things such ticket prices or opening day. I don't know, I guess that's how I was raised. But I guess I'm part of a dying breed. And I'm not even that old!

As much as I admire your efforts, I have to agree with others in saying that I just don't see this petition doing much good. And I loved Phantom Theater as much as the next guy. However, here's another idea for you. It won't bring Phantom Theater back, but it may be the next best thing to Phantom Theater and probably actually would have a realistic chance of succeeding. A few years back at Halloween Haunt, they had a stage set up in front of the Eiffel Tower with all of the Phantom Theater figures on it. It almost brought me to tears just looking at it. I bet I stood there close to ten minutes just looking at it in awe. It was such an amazing set up and so haunting, yet magnificent. Why they decided to do away with that set up is beyond me. But, enough of that mushiness, lol. Anyways, you may want to think about starting a petition to have this set up brought back. At the very least, it brought all of the Phantom Theater characters into one place again instead of scattered all over the park like they have been for the past couple of seasons now. Believe me, I would be the first in line to sign it. Also, another idea is to start a petition asking to build a dark ride or put one in an existing building. Now, the chances of this succeeding are probably not that great either, but it's probably more realistic than them bringing Phantom Theater back. Just some ideas for you that may actually work.

I agree about the Terror of London. I saw a Youtube clip of a walkthrough of Knotts' Terror of London maze and the attention to detail in the maze was just stunning. I actually felt like I was really there in London during the Victorian era and that's just from watching the Youtube video. I would love to actually experience it firsthand. With the way Cedar Fair has taken a "boilerplate" approach in regards to adding rides to their parks and naming attractions (ie: installing WindSeeker in all of their parks, naming all the waterparks Soak City), you would think that Cedar Fair would have the same mazes in all of their parks. Anyways, this may be a little off topic, but I wish and hope that they put the Phantom Theater figures together up on the stage again, like they did a couple of years ago. That was so awesome and a pretty eerie scene all the same. I wonder who I could contact to petition that they do this again? They probably wouldn't give me the time of day, but I'd love to tell them how much I enjoyed it and ask if they could do create that scene again. As far as new mazes go, it would be cool if they could create a maze in the Boo Blasters building. Like basically just supplementing the ride itself with a bunch of scareactors, adding some more props, things like that. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember them having a maze down below the Eiffel Tower when they first started doing Fear Fest? I think that would be cool also. It would also be cool if they did a maze where the good old fashioned monsters like Frankenstein, Wolfman, the Mummy and Dracula roamed together. Something with puppets would be cool too if done the right way. I'll never forget seeing the old Twilight Zone episode with the vantriliquist puppet that talked. Scared me to death as a kid and still gives me chills to this day, lol.

Halloween Haunt. I just love the atmosphere of the park during Haunt. The fog, the scenes and props, the crisp, cold air hitting my face while riding The Beast at night, the leaves changing colors. There may be better haunted attractions out there, but you won't find a better overall haunted attraction experience around than at Haunt. The atmosphere is second to none.

I don't go to Kings Island nearly as much as most you guys. I go maybe once every 2 years. And I'm definitely not a KI fanatic. I've just always been interested in the inner workings of the industry and I enjoy learning something new everyday from all of you, which is why I joined. Therefore, I don't have anything original to add to this topic, but I agree with what previous posters have mentioned: --Do something, anything with Tower Gardens; has so much potential, yet sitting there wasting away. I remember when it used to have the Paramount movie signs in there. It was such a nice little area. --Do something, anything with SOB. Gives the company a black eye just sitting there idle. --Paint Racers. --I don't know if it was just that night or if it's like this all the time, but when I was at Haunt this year, one side of the park (WindSeeker to Rivertown Junction) was crowded and the other side (formerly called Action Zone area) was dead. This is more of a long term thing, but I think they need to add some more rides and spruce up the former Action Zone area. That side seems to be the red-headed step child area, so to speak. I understand why one side of the park is more heavily populated, because that's where the more popular and new/er rides are, such as Beast, WindSeeker and Diamondback. I'm just saying they need to balance it out some. That's all I have.

A couple of years ago, they had the Phantom Theater figures set up on a stage at the end of International Street right after the fountains by the Eiffel Tower. They also had the music and character voices from the ride playing. I stood there in awe for minutes! It was a very eerie, yet very beautifully put together scene. It's one of the best scenes Kings Island has put together and I've been going to Fearfest/Haunt since it started. I hope, hope, hope they put the Phantom Theater figures back to that same set up next year. I understand why and am glad that they change the scenes each year, but this is one that didn't need to change.

Had a great time at Halloween Haunt last Sat. Loved how they dressed up the place. The fog throughout the whole park was just awesome; really gave it a creepy feeling throughout. My favorite was the monster orchestra at the end of the fountain pool. That was awesome and freaky!! At closing, I stood in front of the orchestra watching it and it was almost like they were actually talking directly to you. I know some of you who work the haunt have posted to the forums. Just want to say all of you did a great job with your acts. You really put everything you had into your characters and it showed. I thought about working the Haunt this year, but after watching some of your acting skills, glad I didn't because I can't act!! As far as the attractions go, didn't get to make it through all of them. Probably could have hit all, but I had to ride The Beast after dark. Would highly recommend to everybody. Rode it at 12:30 a.m. and it was awesome!! Everybody was bundled up; I didn't. Wanted to get the whole experience. Was well worth waiting for 2 hours and sacrificing some of the Haunts. Anyways, really liked Urgent Scare. And Club Blood was cool. By the way, can anybody hook me up with one of the exotic dancers in Club Blood:) HA HA!! Well, that's my 2 cents.
