  1. Tell us how you really feel CedarPointer, haha. No need to be rude. Although I don't agree with everything involved in this case, I'm happy to see the lady wasn't awarded anything monetarily that would of been over the top, as in a 6 figure settlement. It could of been a lot worse. for whom? Worse for you the average park goer? worse for the park that it would have to pay her money for riding a ride at their park that broke? worse for the lady who, may or may not, be able to continue a 100% normal life? remember folks there are still a few people out of the 28 people who have not settled...... Personally I think she got about what she deserved, money to pay her bills and heaven forbid, if she needs a hip replacement she has the money to do it, even if someone posted earlier that she may not need it - arthroscopic may be all she needs. Either way be glad you were not on that train when it all went down.... Not sure what your trying to say, as I was just typing a general blanket statement that it could of been worse for the lady of topic, and for the park, or any other under lying synonym I may have missed. Usually, the average park goer doesn't surf fan sites such as KICentral, pointbuzz, or anywhere else for that matter, IMO. I beleive you may have taken my post the wrong way. To each his/her own I suppose. Although, I do wish her the best of luck, hopefully she will lead a 100% normal life, or anyone else injured for that matter.

  3. Interesting, well, I'm sure it couldn't be more crowded then it is on Saturday Haunts. Looking forward to going the 18th and the 25th!
  4. For those of you that attended Haunt on Sunday's last year, do you recall how busy the park was? I know Sundays are usually good days to go, but with Haunt, I would expect it to be buiser then the average Sunday.
  5. I went thru Trail of Terror Sat night around 9:45. I really liked it. One of my favorites! I really liked how it was outdoors in the woods instead of in a building. I liked the doghouse with Vick's name over the door. I laughed pretty hard at that one. While waiting in line it was great to hear the chainsaws revving up and hearing everyone scream. I thought most of the scareactors hiding spots were really creative as I hardly spotted anyone before they jumped out. Only thing I would change was the girl that was counting and allowing people thru the attraction acted like she wasn't dressed up at all. I know its not a huge deal, but most of the other haunts I went thru had the greeters all in character and helps set the tone. Other then that, great job!
  6. Thanks for the info. Next question, does Toyota's event have the option to attend haunt included in their admission for the day? Or will they have to purchase a regular admission ticket like the GP? I'm just trying to gauge how heavy crowds will be.
  7. Is the park closed for a private event on this Saturday till Haunt starts at 7? Or is it closed until 7 to everyone?
  8. Haha, I love reading everyone's responses. Everyone is so pumped! It's gonna make Haunt really fun for everyone! This will be my first haunt attending, on Saturday. I don't know what to expect, as I am trying to not read too much into the details of some of the mazes and attractions to surprise myself. See you all there!
  9. I'm looking forward to seeing the PP renewal cost whenever its released.
  10. I have to agree somewhat that it would be a former shell of itself if/ when changes are made. However, I believe it has been discussed before that it has been trimmed before and it caused the ride to valley, so I can't really imagine that scenario playing out. I guess they could add trims if the ride is drastically changed, but again, the train would have to be able to complete the circuit. We all know what happens when Cedar Fair attempts to rehash a ride. The Crypt anyone? Ok, bad example, its a flat vs a woodie. But if we never rode TR:TR before, one may think The Crypt's new rotation isn't so bad. But since we have something to compare it to, most people will not think its a fun ride. Given that logic, if they take out the helix, or whatever other element to the ride and tone it down, then people will complain about how its not what it used to be and not as fun. IMO, CF is darned if they do(rehash or demo) and darned if they don't(possible lawsuits and future injuries).
  11. As much as I don't want it to be a flume, I think thats what it is too. I guess we will find out soon enough.
  12. Nice to see small parks with simple rides that still thrill many people to this day. Reminds me of Camden Park, the only "small" park I've been to, which was over 15 years ago. Looking forward to the rest of your TR!
  13. Nice TR. You've made me want to pony up the $375 for the VIP tour, lol. I can dream can't I? When I was at CP on July 15th, I walked right past Tony Stewart as I was walking down the exit of Magnum and he was walking towards the ride. I beleive he had the VIP tour lol.
  14. I was at the park yesterday(the 30th). I was wearing my KIC shirt. I saw one other person who was alone, riding Vortex. I thought the park was rather crowded yesterday given all the rain that came down. I was hoping to get some short waits on DB after the rain, but once I walked over there, I saw the queue line was nearly full. Even with the rain and the crowds, still had a great day at KI with friends and family.
  15. Nice trip report! Your pictures from the Giant Wheel are wonderful. Reading this has moved my Cedar Point trip up to possibly this weekend!
  16. I really enjoy reading everyone's own personal story about how they overcame their fear of roller coasters. Very interesting! I have a funny fear of heights. Only when im suspended in the air is when I don't like it. I don't enjoy Eifel Tower or Drop Tower. Although I have been on both numerous times. But I will ride any roller coaster no matter the height.
  17. By camping, do you mean pitching a tent? Or bringing an RV? Just curious as I was looking to camp out sometime this summer when I go to Cedar Point.
  18. You are a really good photographer. Great pictures. Some of the best i've seen on these here forums. What camera were you using, if you don't mind me asking?
  19. Something else I've thought about is, Cedar Fair wanted the height that they chose because they wouldn't want to pull too many visitors from their flagship park, Cedar Point. My logic may be flawed because I know a guest at any Cedar Fair park is money in the same pockets. Same logic applies to future rides, do you honestly think we will get a TTD type ride that will be as tall if not taller? Doubtful, but anything can happen. IMO they don't want Kings Island to overshadow Cedar Point and will prevent that by throwing in smaller rides then what they have CP.
  20. Not if we BUMP it! Looking forward to all the exclusive ride time! Its going to be one unforgettable weekend!
  21. Nice, I like all top 3 designs! I wish we had a choice of the top 3 shirts to choose from instead of having one. But, I won't complain since we have something rather then nothing like before. Good job everyone, looks great.
  22. I know, I checked out the webcam around 4:55 and saw no line I was like !! I hope ERT tomorrow will be similiar because I will be there!
  23. Haha, I have that exact same shirt as I love Tommy Boy too(and Chris Farley for that matter)! I usually wear that shirt when I'm up visiting Cedar Point. Usually get some good reactions while I'm up there too!
