  1. Ki Man, I totally agree. I love the front row views on those coasters and you get great airtime getting pushed over those hills. Maverick especially gives very different ride experiences in the front car. But front row on Dragster at night can be disgusting at best! Terpy and I got covered in Mufflehead massacre recently. I've had my run-ins before but this was ridiculous and I'm not exaggerating at all when I say we were totally in covered bug guts.
  2. Sooo, what if there was a ride intended for CP before the idea of Gatekeeper? Remember all those markings from the Calypso area to Thunder Canyon and all the debate about another B&M going next to Raptor? What if someone told you the ride originally intended for CP was going to get sent to KI instead? Of course, even if it was these things can change but... Then, keeping in mind that Ouimet said there were no other winged coasters on the CF menu. Of course things can change. I would be wondering, what could CP have been getting that is not a winged coaster, would likely be B&M and would not be a repeat.
  3. I was taking prescription pain killers and can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure it was with and keep in mind it was 2 years ago. By the way, who are we to call them dummies. They get to mini-marathon for a living
  4. Thanks you jcgoble3. We should definitely meet up at Coastermania! Especially since I'm a 5th wheel in my group No trucker joke intended ON the Timberliners topic, I learned from Giga2K that anti rollbacks were added, to The Voyage, on the hill leading up to the final break run during Timberliner testing because they kept not making it up that final hill. She had noticed that they had been added and asked the manufacturer rep who was there for HoliWood nights 2011(?). He was the one who told her the Timberliners weren't completing the circuit and it sounded to her like it happened a lot. If I remember right, they are lighter than the PTC's and that was causing problems. If that's the case, there may be no easy fix and possibly no fix at all.
  5. Terpy, While I definitely appreciate your reply, I already knew your opinion. Enjoy your evening my friend! Edit to add: Anyone else glad you can't smell trolls through the internet?
  6. Now that's hitting below the belt
  7. I hate to say this, I really don't want to make a big deal out of the situation but I can't help it. Holiday World has lost charm for me. Of all the time I've spent there, the thing that really sold me on HW is Pat and the Koch family (and some KIC buddies). I've spent some time talking with Pat on multiple occasions, gotten help from her when we had some stroller problems, seen her sweeping the midway and realized that, on those occasions, I was seeing examples of what made HW so great. Don't get me wrong, I adore the place but this legal battle sickens me and hurts my desire to make the large commitment of time to go there. We cancelled our family trip to HoliWood nights to reschedule for a more convenient time and because I was loosing heart for the place and now I'm not that motivated to go back. On the other hand, HW is a very special place and I feel like I should support them/it through this and honor the Koch legacy for all it's beauty and the joy it brings to this world. With this legal battle though, I'm just not as motivated to go. What do you think? Am I overreacting? Should I support the park through this? Wanna talk it over at Coastermania next weekend?
  8. Which would be the truth. Another similarity with what he said about your track sighting report
  9. I agree with Terpy 100%. I absolutely adore Magnum and it often gets a really short line especially later in the day. It's great for rerides but rough if your not in a center of car seat. My personal favorite seat is 3-2 third car center seat. Night rides are great too. Skyhawk should not be missed either. It always delivers... Even when I rode 10+ times in a row Have a blast and don't sweat missing a ride. I missed TTD the first time I went since it's install and it made an awesome cookie to save for later.
  10. I'm working and already taking this Fri and Sat off for Coastermania! Have fun folks!
  11. Sometimes Freud was full of crap. I have much respect for some of his work but...
  12. I've been wondering about that too. I actually posted about it, in this thread, on May 8th.
  13. I don't really get embarrassed easily but, we went this Sun and my nearly 5 yr old daughter said to my mother-in-law, "It's called boob blasters." Knowing that it's Boo Blasters. Nice Nigella. That's classy!
  14. For what it's worth. Awhile ago Screamscape was reporting that Knott's was getting a Giga and then it got delayed. The final rumor was a Leviathon type B&M. Perhaps when a decision was made to remove SOB, KI got bumped up in priority for the next big thing. Of course, Knott's got a new area and that could be the reason for the delay but, a contract for a coaster may have been made and the location changed to KI. Just thinking.
  15. I'm very excited. The dines are a big hit with my family and I don't mind the up charge. We can't afford it every time but my 4 yr old simply loves those dinos.
  16. This is just sad. What a tough time they've had the past couple years. My heart goes out to the family and I wish them all the best.
  17. Also keep in mind the building wash't structurally designed for such a use. Having catwalks with a few people occasionally on it is totally different than enclosed rooms with props and crowds.
  18. RZ, I'm curious about the Pasteur reference. Sorry if it's something from the podcast, I'm just checking this thread on a break at work and can't listen it.
  19. I was wondering the same thing. I assume it has it own drive/power source. My concern is the whole process seems half @$$ed. It seems odd to picture them getting that thing out, assembling it, and sending it up and down the tower while riders are stranded. Then there's questions of how long do they wait until they decide to get it out?
  20. I didn't notice. Must have been distracted by the gorgeous B&M
  21. Sorry to those who are bitter about the circumstances around it closing but it is nice to see CF getting some increased revenue out of the site. I'm also glad to see some movement toward getting that site cleaned up and looking less like a graveyard of good times past.
  22. I didn't see Fun Spot Park on there. It was in Angola, IN and closed in 2008.
  23. Totally agree. Love the fresh new look. Thanks Dane!
  24. The link to view it online is in the original post.
  25. Kat, you have always done such great trip reports! Thanks so much for your time and effort! Your last photo of Cheetah Hunt is the best I've seen. NIce work!
