Ryan & Ronny's Nice Sit Down Restaurant: The Show to Debut
74Gibson replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Grr. Just like last week I'm editing interviews for my site and have to finish tonight. I was trying to get done in time but... Please keep posting cuz I'd love to listen and would be glad to give you some feedback. Congrats. I may barely know ya but I'm still proud! -
^yes. They are leaning toward a B&M over in the Calypso area (last I read) and a kiddie coaster (I forget where). Just go to the site and search for CP This is a "just for fun thread." No one is speculating that these things would happen.

Oldiesmann, I forgot all about that. Thanks for reminding me. That was just...well, epic.

Have some respect people (half joking). Raptor's place at CP is iconic and... as much as I miss Demon Drop, removing Raptor may jut break my heart.

Biggest Mental Thrill
74Gibson replied to countess_of_tuscany's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I really lost the thrill factor cuz I really seem to have no fear left. The first time I rode TTD the intensity of the launch kinda got me but the 2nd time was much more tame Other than that, Terpy is right on with Demon Drop. It was kinda rickety and old seeming and that little bump at the top just felt...wrong. It really was the most thrilling ride I can think of and I miss it! Oh yeah, a sunny day on Maverick where you get blinded going up the first hill and the beyond vertical drop kinda get me if I'm in the front. Titan at SFoT did freak me out. I had no idea how big it was until we crested the hill. Unfortunately, you just can't re-create that. -
Paul, That shot of the Eiffel Tower is so amazing for so many reasons! You have a remarkable eye for angles and catching intriguing action. Thanks again for sharing!

I can't help but say it because it's such a perfect match for me but, on a CP note... 10 or a 2 Way by KORN is the perfect theme song for Maverick. Sorry, I return the floor to KI posts. EDIT to add: Overplayed Kings of Leon in the DB line put a nail in that coffin for me... too bad!

What are you looking forward to the most this 40th anniversary season?
74Gibson replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Honestly, I look most forward to taking my 3 1/2 yr old daughter to Dinos Alive. She talks about it all the time... like any time I ask where she wants to go today. Aside from that, I just can't for that "in the park" feeling ad the mood that comes with it. Gotta say my first time over those glorious first 2 hills on DB! -

Massive INDOOR Amusement Park in Ohio
74Gibson replied to McSalsa's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Just watched the video and showed my wife and 3 yr old. Looks like we're going Wed... Thanks McSalsa! Anyone have any words of advice... and no a Terpy "yes" doesn't really work here I'm off to consult Google -
My daughter's Abuelos feed us for free LOL!

Ruby Tuesdays won me and my whole crew over and this meal deal would not be enough to get us back. CF really looses a lot of in park dollars from my crew but I wonder if that will change over the next couple seasons...

As long as Lance doesn't link them on Screamscape again!

Holiday World Timberliners
74Gibson replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I would think so too. Just wonder how much it will effect the way the new tracks "takes" the Timberliners. Meaning, how much it will settle into the wear patterns of the PTC trains and how much that will change the way it settles into the wear patterns of the Timberliners. That said. I'm pretty glad it will still have PTC's this year. The ride is amazing, rough, but amazing with them. I can't wait to ride that new wood. It should be mentioned (as I was told by our own Giga2K) antirollbacks were added before the break run because the Timberliners were having trouble clearing it. In the end, I bet it's a better overall ride but I worry it will loose to much of it's edge. It has such an amazing out of control feeling! -

This is a bit out of character for me to say but, I do go to CP for amazing coasters. I love that they're making the park nicer but do hope they keep wowing me with new coasters!- 26 replies

^ the feeling is a form of fear response so... if you ride a lot the body kinda figures it out and calls your bluff. People who have genuine fear of heights never seem to loose that unless they have some trick or something.

I guess we need a working definition of leak... I was referring to finding out things earlier than the park had intended to allow us, which (in all fairness) is probably a misuse of the term.

I'm constantly amazed that people seem to think that nothing ever leaks out, especially now that enthusiasts are on to finding capital improvement applications that parks are required to make to local zoning admin or whoever deals with that stuff. Just saying, because I don't really have a point
