I too went to Cedar Point and none of my friends or I had any issues with our Platinum Passes. It seems like the issues have been hit or miss. If there are issues with my PP not scanning, I would think it's a little inconvenient, but things do happen unfortunately, and life's too short to get mad and stay mad about things likes this. Just my opinion.

"The Cincinnati Kids" will be on TV Land May 20th
frisbeefan replied to Diamondback96's topic in Kings Island
The Brady Bunch was always a cheesy show. This episode does show some of the nice landscaping and charm of the park though. -
I would call the park before you leave to make sure they got it worked out, especially if that is the attraction you really wanted to ride! If you did call the park, I highly doubt they would be able to give you a definitive answer.

Are they telling you where to sit on Diamondback still?
frisbeefan replied to coasterfan85's topic in Kings Island
I think one of the issues continues to be the fact that groups enter the SRL making it longer than it should be. It would seem to be a difficult thing to patrol, with it being easy for people to go from the main que to the SRL. With that being said, I think the crew does a great job getting through the line as best as they can, espcially with everything they deal with. -
Best Experience ever on one of KI's coasters?
frisbeefan replied to israel09's topic in Kings Island
I remember my first big rollercoaster: Vortex. I was very nervous because I thought I might fall out. I really don't recall too much other than the fact that it was such a disorienting expeirence, and the fact my legs hurt during the ride from all the force. That was most likely because I had never experienced any thing like that before. -
I agree Oldiesmann. I can't think if it's the same series or not, but I think there is a book(s) out about Coney Island. I could be wrong, but I may have seen this somewhere.

There is an Image of America Series book about Six Flags Great Adventure that I stumbled upon from Barnes and Noble. This is a brief synopsis of what this book covers: KI's book could cover so much and I think it would be a great addition for the park, either being sold online and/or at the park. What does everyone think?

From my experience when I've gone with my cousins who are younger, around 4 or 5, they have a great time. There are many small rides in Planet Snoopy that are really great for younger kids. A list of rides in Planet Snoopy can be found here. There are some rides in which you can ride with her, but many smaller rides can only accomodate small kids. Other rides that my young cousins enjoyed outside of the smaller rides were Scrambler and Monster. Hope this helps a little and hope you have fun!

It sounds like you had a good time at all three parks with short wait times!

I too lost some time playing that game, I would always try to recreate King Cobra despite the game not having a stand up coaster design. I also remember the guests that would rate the coaster especially the older lady, and the test dummies who would fall out of the coaster if the ride wasn't safe. Memories! Here are a few pictures from the game:

That's true isn't it?

Trip Report - Kings Island - Sunday, May 9th
frisbeefan replied to selective's topic in Trip Reports
First of all, do you think the reason they didn't have full capacity on each train was becasue something wasn't working correcty with those particular seats?? Having worked at the park, and I would think not much has changed, one of the last things the park wants is for capacity to be low. I don't think the crew were leaving seats open for the fun of it, becasue the less people that are able to ride equates to longer lines, which adds to poor guest satisfaction and complaints, and also the time they have to be there to close. There are many thoughts on the complexity of the ride and other factors which could lead to Firehawk's lengthy line, which is located in the thread here. As for your comment about the safety of Firehawk. Unfortunately downtime is part of any amusement ride, especially one as complex as Firehawk. You may not think the "reliability" of the ride is good, but I would bet that the ride is extremely safe. I find amusment park attractions, especially attractions at a park such as Kings Island are extremely safe. The countless number of inspections, sensors, and computer systems which monitor each ride to ensure safety are enormous. EDIT: I do apoligize if my comments came off to be demeaning, but I do respect his opinions, I just disagree whole heartidly that because a ride has some downtime and a few seats were not in use that a ride is not safe. -
I know the bins slow down the loading process on Delirium, but that is the only way to really secure loose articles on that ride.

On Friday night a father and his daughter were looking at Vortex: Daugther: Do you think it's true that Vortex is sinking? Father: I don't know maybe.

Looks like Diamondback is down. I'm planning on going up after 5 today, hopefully it will be operating.

*emphasis added* When i see this i don't see complaining at all... well i do see it, but only by those complaining about complaining.... *cough* What i see here is a simple help at editing. No one stated anything about commas or crap being missing. People were SIMPLY STATING things that could be changed to help better the legitimacy of KI's Site. Like the YouTube link... seems like a pretty big error to me. For all we know there's only 1 or 2 ppl keeping the site up. And maybe they have to do their own editing. Ever tried to edit your own paper? Did you find every mistake every time? I doubt it. Do you know how to legitimately build a website? at least of KI's size? From code? (not like simple premade myspace/geocities setups). I doubt that too, b/c if you did, you'd understand exactly how hard and time consuming it is to go and make sure every single little tiny bit of coding is 100% correct/accurate. They may not have the time/funds to look at every single little bit of whatever. but obviously they have looked at this post and have fixed those mistakes. and if able to post i'm sure there would be a big "thank you so much i can't believe i missed that" post. So seriously if you're gonna whine and complain about whining and complaining... then just don't look at this page? simple really. you kinda gave yourself advice now lets go play practice what you preach Well said!

There is an app called Ride Hopper which provides ride wait times for hundreds of parks including Kings Island. This is free and is available for IPod as well as Android phones. For all those who use Blackberry, unfortunately it's not offered yet. I wish it was available for BB users I sent an e-mail to the developers a few days ago to see if it would be available on BB. I wonder if they will get back to me.

I remember this song from Final Destination 3

Most of the time all of the rides run in a sprinkle. When I've been at the park during a heavy downpour it has caused the rides to stop operating or run limited operation (i.e. 2 trains running on Diamondback instead of 3). I for one am not a fan of riding many rides in rain regardless of it being a sprinkle or not. During heavy rain you can still ride Flight of Fear and The Crypt, or go to the Festhaus for some food or to get out of the rain.

When I was there this morning the trains were on the transfer track and the ride was closed. From what I could see, they looked the same.

Are There FREE Handouts For Season Pass Holders Opening Day?
frisbeefan replied to PKISecurity's topic in Kings Island
I also remember they gave out free posters for SOB. I still have mine. -
I went last year on a Friday in May around 6 or so and didn't realize it was Math and Science Day. The crowds weren't terrible, but I mainly rode Diamondback as a single rider, so take that for what it's worth. Firehawk and FOF didn't produce but about 15-20 minute wait, so considering how crowded those can be, that wasn't bad. If the crowds were like last year, it shouldn't be enough to not go.
