I wouldn't count on that. I know when working during the Paramount years, our crew would check both height requirements daily for accuracy before the park opened. I remember several times measuring taller guests just before getting on the ride and having to turn them away.

I heard the first 30 seconds or so before it was too windy to hear any music.
-
The only music I heard last night was the theme for "2001 A Space Odyssey". It was neat hearing it as we ascended the tower.

Friday was the first time I had been on FOF this season so I'm not sure if they are new since Opening Day. There were two managers adding/replacing those lights in the spaceship in the morning. I think they add a little more to the queue and it was nice to see some details being worked on. At the time they were working, two people, on seperate occasions, were line jumping in an attempt to get with their friends. Of course the managers stopped them which was nice to see.

I had some vacation left so I decided to spend the day at KI. I got to the park around 9 and the gates opened around 9:30 in time for ERT. I started off at Diamondack without much of a wait. I sat in row 2 which is one of my favorite places to sit because you get the nice view in front without the wait for the front seat. I then rode The Beast, again without much of a wait. I rode in the second to last row and it provided a very nice ride. At this point the park was ready to open and I met up with some friends who have younger kids. We split up so the older of the two kids could ride some of the bigger rides with me. We started off at Firehawk but soon found out it wasn't open just yet because it was finishing it's morning tests, so we rode Flight of Fear. Since this was the first time Joey had been on FOF I thought he would enjoy it more in the front seat and he was not disappointed. After FOF, Firehawk opened and we waited about 15 minutes. Again this was a first ride for him and he enjoyed it, although not as much as FOF. We rode FOF again since we were so close and the lines were still short. We then proceeded to Vortex, The Beast, and then met up for lunch at the Rivertown Junction. This was my first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised by the food and how nice the staff was. I would definitely go there again with it's nice selection of food and desserts. The kids wanted to see Boomerang Bay and with just eating lunch decided that wasn't a bad idea and took the train over. It was my first time on the train in years and loved the views of Diamondback. We weren't prepared to swim, so we just spent time looking around at the different slides and shops. It was definitely more crowded over there then on the dry side. I couldn't get many pictures with the DB train though. After the train we split up again. We rode Diamondback, Adventure Express, Viking Fury, and Racer. At this point they had to leave, but I think we were able to do quite a bit in 3 1/2 hours. I decided to spend some more time and rode Diamondback this time in row 14 which is another great place to ride. I love the air time the back provides and again without the longer wait for row 16. It was off to Drop Tower next where the itch to ride Skyflyer got me. It had been around 6 years since I rode Skyflyer and it's definitely one of the scariest rides for me with Skyscraper at Cedar Point being another. I decided to ride Invertigo before leaving since that's one of my favorites in the park. Overall it was great way to spend my birthday. I did not see WindSeeker cycle at all when I was there. Hopefully it will be open soon. Thanks for reading and hope i didn't put anyone to sleep, but this was my first trip report. Below are some more pictures: Slinghot: I enjoy Slingshot but not for $20-25: The picture didn't come out the greatest, but here it is anyway: Here are some of WindSeeker: I'm such a nerd: The shades have not been placed for the queue yet: Have to get a couple some pictures of Invertigo : And of course Delirium:

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

This was posted by goodyellowkorn awhile ago. I would think since people were on the ride, these hydraulic pieces would have been in place. I would think if these were in place though, that the arms shouldn't move that much, but I don't know anything about engineering so I'm sure there's a good reason. -

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

I saw this video posted showing Cedar Point's WindSeeker. If you notice a little over a minute in how close it appears the seats get to one another, which get progressively closer. Also, I'm suprised how much the arms move, it must have been very windy. EDIT: Sorry the link didn't work for some reason. -
I was excited to ride Shockwave last year because I remember liking King Cobra too, but once the train completed the loop the fun ended. The hill before the helix, for me at least. was one of the most painful experiences on a roller coaster. I could only ride once, which was more than enough for me. I've heard Wonderland is very nice though. How does it compare to KI?

I would think KI is getting close. I just checked the webcam and the seats were away from the tower more than when they raise it up and down. It was only a 1/4 up the tower and came down, but definately the speed is increasing. -
It does sound good. For now here you go:

I saw this article linked on Screamscape and thought it was interesting. According to the article: While I understand and agree park rules need to be followed and enforced, ride associates can only do so much. People disobey rules all the time and it's difficult to prevent people from having head on collissions. Of all the times I've been on Dodgems I've always seen or been apart of someone driving into someone head-on. Any thoughts? Bumper Car Lawsuit

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
frisbeefan replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
From what I remember reading, the ride will take 1 minute to ascend, 1 minute spinning on top, and 1 descending. I'm not sure if this is will remain true though. -
I am planning a 1 day trip to Holiday World at the end of June. For those who have been, how busy are Fridays? I've heard Splashin' Safari can get very busy, but most likely won't be spending much time there. I'm more interested in riding Legend, Raven, and Voyage. Thanks for any input.

Some of us don't have to imagine. Some of us remember quite well when OL:FoF had OTSRs. OUCH! That made for a painful ride, and now it's much more enjoyable.

That's a very smart idea. Thanks for sharing her paragraph!

Thanks, I will try that next time. I've had it work before using the 'Insert Media' button, but I obviously did something different this time. -

Hopefully they will test at full speed soon, but my guess is that won't be for a little while. -

I wouldn't think it would be open this weekend, but I'm just speculating. I would think they have quite a bit of testing to do to ensure all aspects of the ride work properly. -
