I want to see Drum & Imagine myself. This is why I am not to worried if it rains. Yes we are going to do CW on Saturday. -

I can't see why not. I purchased mine last week. It says that you can use the voucher one time for entry before you have to process. -

Thanks Terp, we will consider getting a Q2Q if it is looking crowded. The cost for the 5 of us is less then a SF Q-bot for 1. When we were there last year, the park was so empty that I probably have a less then realistic impression of the park. We went on a Monday after their local schools were back in session. gad, how many are in your group? It looks like Sevierville Tenn schools will be in session on Friday. Their spring break is the week after Easter. -

This looks pretty cool. I wonder if I can get Nancy to do this. -

I can't imagine them getting busy on Friday. There is nothing on the website about it and to get the newsletter, you had to have already purchased or renewed your season passes. How many people besides enthusiast purchase season passes before the season. Now the weekend I can see being busy. My understanding is that Dolly is in the park opening weekend. On another note, the weather is calling for rain. -

Quite. If Kinzel finds out he will try to charge you for the free meal. -
Kings Dominion Best Western Deal
DaveStroem replied to DaveStroem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I know you mentioned this last year. I just checked there reviews on trip advisor and for the price, it doesn't sound too bad, Since we will only be there a few hours, it really doesn't make much of a difference. I was impressed that the management replied to the the trip advisor reviews. -
I just saw that Best Western is running a special for season pass holders of 30% off. I just booked a room there for 4/1 at a rate of $48.99 + tax. I was also told that you can just walk over to the park. My thought is to head over before the parking lot opens. This way we will be behind the tail-gaiters but before everyone else.

Will Intimidator 305 open on time?
DaveStroem replied to DaveStroem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I too noticed that KDfansite was locked. I have a feeling that the whole campout will fall apart very quickly. Even if it doesn't I now see it being pretty small. I doubt they will get more then a hundred people for it. So they might get to ride a few trains before everyone else but who cares. The more I read the RULES the less I wanted to attend. So here is to hoping that I305 passes it's tests, opens on time and the rain stays away. -
Most all of their events listed were park sponsored events. Most coaster clubs would get you in.

Will Intimidator 305 open on time?
DaveStroem replied to DaveStroem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My understanding is that the cars were being sent out to be refurbed into one usable car. While I AM a Jeff Gordon fan, I think the car will come back in a #3 paint job. So what would the purest think about that. -

Just watched it. WOW that first drop is steep. -
There was even talk and plans drawn up to take a monorail to MCO. I don't foresee any additional monorails ever being installed.

Darien Lake: Tax Incentive Packages
DaveStroem replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Darien Lake was an interesting park. It has a decent base of attractions that are poorly run. They could easily up per cap spending if they would take credit cards at their food stands. In the past we had coaster wars, now it is almost like these guys were trying to see how much in debt they could get themselves. What does the winner get? -

If you look at the bottom of the intimidator website it list the following So yes they have an agreement to use the names & likenesses. I don't think they are mentioning Nascar at all in association with the ride. They have mentioned it in the bio page of Dale Earnhardt. My guess is this is to avoid paying Nascar. -

I read this on ThemeParkInsider. It is pure rumor so take it only as that. Here are some great shots take last week by a friend of mine that is in the area. As you can see these were taken from on site. He says that he has been told that things are on track for opening day. This was as of last week though. -
Nice I really like these. It is too bad that you can no longer ride with the pilot. Last year we were the first one up to an empty station and asked if we could ride up front. The answer was yes. Shortly after I noticed a family with a little boy that was celebrating his birthday. I asked if he would like to ride up front. His parents had no idea that they could. We switched and when we got off they made a point to find me and thank me. It feels so good to spread some magic when your at Disney.

Six Flags over Georgia PTR Sunday March 7th 2010
DaveStroem replied to pkiboy's topic in Trip Reports
Here are some of the reasons we went to GR while non of them is a major, when you have driven 9 hours each one piles on the other. Coasters Opening late Forcing people to use lockers for coasters that were not open Parking issue Long waits for the amount of people in the station Long load times (this is excusable due to training) GASM closed to the public for a radio contest. They could have at least added a second train for the public instead of closing the ride. Acrophobia closed Acme Canyon Blaster closed We did also complement many of the employees by name. This were not employee issues. These were park operation issues. Adam, how are we doing with those photos? -

This is a quote from a friend that is at BGW almost every week if not several times each week. His wife is a suit for the park. -
Disney Announces "Premier Passport"

The only down side is many if not most of the resort offers require at least a one day park ticket purchase.
