  1. One tip I have for you is to join a coaster club that is partnered with HW. The club price is $28.95. I know that ACE, & CoasterBuzz get this price for card carrying members.
  2. Which one do you like more? Kings Dominion or Kings Island The relocated coasters from Geagua Lake: Dominator or Firehawk Inverted: Volcano or Invertigo Family: Avalanche or Adventure Express Ricochet or Flying Ace (Runaway Reptar) Backlot Stunt Coaster: Neither Arrow Megalooper: Anaconda or Vortex Flight of Fear: Jokers Jinx as SFA Racing Woodies Rebel Yell or The Racer Paramount's attempt at a Woodie: Hurler or Son of Beast Woodie in the Woods: Grizzly or The Beast The "Others": Shockwave or Flight Deck Drop Zone: Theirs or Ours The Crypt: Theirs or Ours Swinging Ship: Beserker or Viking Fury White Water Canyon: I don't like walking around with wet underwear so I don't ride these Log Flume: Same as above New Coaster: Intimidator 305 or Diamondback & yes I have ridden both. Themed Area: The Grove or Coney Mall Old Virginia or Rivertown Congo or Action Zone KD International Street or KI International Street Former Coasters: Hypersonic XLC or King Cobra. Never rode XLC so I can't compare Waterpark: Waterworks or Boomerang Bay You don't want to see my big pasty white belly so I will stick with the dry side of the park Hotels: Kings Quarters or Great Wolf Lodge. I have not stayed at GWL, but I would stay at Kings Quarters again.
  3. Yep, I am pretty much done with opening days unless it is for a new ride. IMO KD's problems came from the terrible weather delaying much of the work on I305 which then diverted staff to get it open which in turn hampered off season work done on other rides. The worst indignity were the naked eagles.
  4. Kerry, we just got back from KD. First off, I was not impressed with I305. While it ranks a 10 on the intensity scale, it comes in at closer to a 5 on the fun scale. KD had such issues getting this ride open that IMO the rest of the park suffered greatly. Volcano was only running 1 train with looooonnnnggg waits. The second train was not to be found. My guess is that it is still in the maintenance shop delayed by the big turd next to it. There were many coasters that were not open that we knew about (Hurler & Shockwave) but there were others that were closed everytime we went by (Flight of Fear & Grizzly). I don't see a date for your trip, but I would suggest waiting several weeks if not a month or 2 before heading to Doswell. Kings Dominion was not ready to open this last weekend IMO. Now as to inside scoop. KD lists opening time at 10:30 but they really open the front of the park at 10:00 am. You can head over to Dominator first and get a quick lap or 2 on this before the back of the park opens. I would go to Volcano next as it seems to be a much slower load then I305.
  5. In the 3rd video she is talking to Ken. I meet him last year and he gave us a great tour of BGW. What an ambassador for the parks and for coaster enthusiasts. It looks like they have a ton of landscaping that needs to be done, but the ride is running with passengers. Cant wait for tomorrow.
  6. They just need to sell the coasters to Holiday World. If you combined the 2 parks collection you would have a powerful line up. Everything from Howler and Hang Ten to Time Machine and Voyage. Throw in Iron Horse and Round a bout for the more family friendly coasters and Soaked for Splashin Safari. I am betting that the price would be right too.
  7. We rode Boo Blasters at CW twice. I felt it was well done with a few new twists.
  8. Same issue here. It worked fine on Saturday but red X on Sunday. I understand that there can be issues, but the attendant didn't chose her words carefully and torqued me off.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/user/KingsDominionTV This was released on KD facebook page. The last few seconds of the video have me more then a bit worried about our trip down this weekend.
  10. Great TR Rachel. We loved hanging with you and Jack this past weekend. Just a few days left till KD.
  11. I agree that not having shirts available was an EPIC fail. They could have made a limited number of shirts and sold them with the proceeds going to the Dale Earnhardt foundation. I bet they could have made more money from first rider shirt sales then what the first rider auction made.
  12. Sunday on I232 was incredible compared to our Saturday rides. It didn't hurt that they were allowing re-rides on Timmy. I doubt there were 300 cars in the parking lot.
  13. The ride is amazing. Not as much air as or beloved Diamondback but has some great elements. The 2nd hill delivers just as I thought it would. The 3rd hill was the only one that gave me the prolonged floater air that I get on just about every hill on DB. The turnaround is wicked. You twist to the right before turning hard to the left. The helix is much better then DB but not quite as good as SFOG Goliath IMO. This coaster will do great things for the park. The weather is supposed to hold out for another few hours so we will be heading back across the street in about an hour for a few more laps.
  14. Last year we noticed more then a usual amount of yellow jackets in the line up to AE. One in our group was highly allergic to bees so he took off quickly and did not ride.
  15. Keith and others. I would love nothing more then to see your onride photos with your kids. Isn't this what it really is all about. Hi-Jack away.
  16. I'll be there on Saturday along with a bunch of other KICers.
  17. During ERT Sundays (yes I know they don't start till after opening day) we do 2-3 laps on DB then a couple on Beast (with out leaving the station) before heading over to FOF and FH. We have found that FH is often not running when the park opens to the GP but it most often is by the time we get off FOF. Next we head to Racer and AE before getting to the Action Zone area for a trip on Delirium, FD & DZ. About this time we hit the parking lot for lunch.
  18. He is not alone, he is my best friend and was the best man at my wedding. The 3 of use wouldn't fit in one row. For that matter He & I wouldn't fit in one row
  19. Just found this old photo of Elizabeth & I riding Beastie way back when. This was her first real roller coaster and as you can tell her hands have been up from the beginning. She has now ridden over 200 different coasters sitting beside me.
  20. I have not been to the park myself but from what I understand you are correct about going to X2 first then getting your GFP before you head to your next ride unless your mom is not a rider, then she could pick it up while you hit X2. Last year, I believe that Terminator was not included in the GFP listing and was an up charge. I don't think that is the case this year though. I have also been told to allow plenty of time to get to the park. This is LA and traffic is nothing like what we have in Ohio. Have fun and take lots of pictures.
  21. Just as long as they don't put it as the MCBR. If they do that all they will get is disappointed looking people.
  22. Hey they answered my question Looks like DB is keeping it's SRL. http://www.facebook....id=378978496948
  23. True that they do move a ton of people. One issue that I have it is the way that WDW packs their buses. It is no wonder that there were 7 injuries with all the people standing in the aisles.
