When we were at BGW last year they opened up LNM well before the posted opening times. I was told they open the park is stages. We got 3 rides on LNM before the rest of the park opened. We then just went in a counter clockwise direction hitting up Griffon, Alpengiest, DarKastle & Apollo's Chariot since Big Bad Wolf was down. Now that BBW is gone, allowing for that is irrelevant. We purchased a meal deal that was around $20 which gave us 2 meals with drink and dessert + 2 extra drinks. The meals were huge and tasty. I just checked and I don't see that offered on the site anymore just individual meal certificates. We really enjoyed SFA both times we have gone. The coasters are just as Terpy described above. I don't know if it is worth an entire day, but it makes a good park to hit on the day you head back home.

RD, surprise here and bring your own sprinkles for her. That way if they don't you will make tons of points with her.

I am glad that I232 is getting more air as it works in. When we rode it on opening day (3rd public train) it had little very little air. By the next time it was much better. Adam (PKIBOY) reported that the next week it was still better then our rides the week before. So I guess what I am saying is that the early reports were not wrong, but that the ride very well could have improved with actual loaded trains. Did Diamondback change from week 1 to 2?

So where does one find a coupon for "ice cream" at KI?

Tom, as much as issues as I have with I305 the night ride was pretty amazing. I agree that Dominator is a fun ride, I wouldn't put it in my top 10 but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Remember that when riding early in the season you are comparing to memories from past rides. These often are not fair comparisons as we can either inflate our memory of a past ride or let the enthusiasm of a new ride over rate the true experience. I can't wait for Saturday so I can compare all these new rides to Diamondback and not just my memory of Diamondback.

I happen to agree that Intimidator at Carowinds is similar to Nitro. IMO the stand out feature on both is the second hill knife over. SFGAdv Nitro

I hope to get down there this year. Might just add it on to a Dollywood trip or another SFOG one. -
Another trim on I305?

http://coasterbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/57204.aspx Angie, I totally believe you that you grayed out on MF, I have too. While I feel that graying out is not a good thing on any ride on I305 is seems to be happening to more people then on MF. On KDFansite they ran a poll where 65% of respondents say the grayed out and 13% say they blacked out. That is 78% that had a G-force effected lose of function. My real concern is not the gray out but the blackouts combined with the aggressive transitions. Many have said to just ride them defensively to avoid head banging, that is impossible to do if your unconscious. -
Another trim on I305?

I just read another report about a girl that completely blacked out and slumped over on the first turn. Her dad was riding with her and had to shake her awake after the air hill. I love intense rides as much as the next coaster nut, but I don't think this ride is safe. -
I remember that too. Of course when they were here before the enclosure was much more like an out door prison cell.

Wildebeest Testing

I was getting a bit worried there till the end. They only have a little over a month to get all the bugs worked out. Just a reminder for all those going on opening day that the water park will not be open yet. -
Great PTR. I love going to the Zoo. It did seem like the animals were more active then normal. Might just have to head over tomorrow for a quick trip. We are members so going to the zoo for an hour or so is an easy thing to do. I can't wait for the polar bear exhibit to open. They were my favorite at the Cincy Zoo

I saw the mention of Bay Harbor too. KI getting Lobster and Crab legs WOOT. But then I read your post and now I am all deflated.

Nice pics but your comment about the flying eagles couldn't be more wrong. The KI now CW eagles are some of the best ones out there. Strickers Grove has another great set.

Nancy took most of them. I however did the post processing and cropping. Like from this To this

Another trim on I305?
DaveStroem replied to gigacoaster2k's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I predicted on opening day that they would neuter I305 with in a month. The fact that a majority of people experience some form of blackout/grayout on this ride coupled with the intense transitions is a sure recipe for injury. I read a report that someone blacked out to the point where they were still out when he passed by the on-ride photo location. He ended up with at the least a bloody nose. -
Kings Dominion ... What To Expect?
DaveStroem replied to kerry1150's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If the Flying Eagles were back at Kings Island, I couldn't care less if they were chartreuse or fuchsia, flat black or silver. It matters not. Well I want OUR Flying Eagles back from Carowinds not Kings Dominions set that don't snap worth a darn in comparison. -
I will keep the text light on this and just post the photos.

I can't wait for your PTR. Glad you had a great time. -
Nick, I am glad you enjoyed I305 but I still wonder how anyone can think that a coaster that causes most people to blackout/grayout is a good thing. Friseefan, we stayed at the Best Western Kings Quarters and would stay there again. Our room was clean and had no smell of mold like some mentioned that stayed there years ago. The only knock is that the bathroom was pretty small. They have a pretty substantial season pass discount too.
