  1. Saturday afternoon I started to feel a little depressed. Many of my friends were were filling up facebook with reports from Holiday World and how empty the park was. I was stuck at work and longing for a ride on Voyage. During the evening I kept checking the forecast for Sunday. It did not look good with weather.com predicting 80-100% chance of rain for most of the day. Looking at the radar though showed that the storms were going to pass just to the east of the park. So we got up at 4:30am and hit the road by 5:30am. After a short 5 hour drive though the heart of the storm we pulled into the empty Raven lot 10 minutes before the park opened. We checked our dogs in to the Holidog Inn and headed in to the park. First up was Raven in the back rows. Since the rain had stopped shortly before we got there the wood was still wet and we flew around the course. We followed up with our first re-ride of the day before heading for Legend. We climbed the stairs to the Legend station to completely empty of guests. Elizabeth grabbed the back row while Katy & I took the front. The train pulled into the station and those few that were on the train shuffled to other seats while we took our first legendary lap of the day. We followed this up with another re-ride. It was now time to take a Voyage for our first incredible trip in the woods. By the time we went down the exit ramp for the first time we had logged 9 laps. The park had only been open 2 hours and it was time for lunch at Plymouth Rock Cafe for a hearty meal. After lunch we did a few walk on trips to rescue some Turkeys and let our lunch digest before doing some more power riding. In the afternoon we did see an hour or so of light rain that stung on your face but made our earlier rides on Voyage pail. While I missed HWN last year, I now have a bit of a feeling what you all have been talking about for the last year. Total ride count for the day Raven 7 Legend 6 Voyage 37 Gobblers Getaway 3 Raging Rapids 1 (we were already wet so why not) Eagles 1 Antique Cars 1 Trips to the Oasis ??? Trips to the mens room The girls also did a few other spiny rides that I passed on. This was an incredible day at the park but now as I right this I am feeling a little bit of a Coaster Hangover. I think I will go take a nap now.
  2. I have gotten over 1800 several times with out stops and 2220 with a short stop.
  3. Todd, I don't think anyone is saying that Lakemont is ripping anyone off. I fear that they will take a financial hit because of this. Lakemont reminds me a lot of Strickers. Some fun flats and a few coasters but not much more.
  4. They claim that the reason is to lesson the crowds on LTD. IIRC LTD only has one car that holds 4 people. It would have to be the worst ride on the planet for capacity. I think they should sell the wristband and give you one ticket to ride LTD if you want more, then pay for them.
  5. I think this will shoot them in the foot. Many people come to the park especially for LTD. Since it is a free park that you can either buy tickets or a wristband for I see people skipping the flats and the wristband.
  6. http://www.teaconnec...9ThemeIndex.pdf I find it interesting that KI is ahead of CP
  7. I think these are done on their own time after work. If you had a hard day you might not always be able to give that sharp reply and stay with in what can be said. I think it is great that they are doing this too. Even with a few softball answers.

  9. Yep, HWN and 4 other times you came out ahead by having the pass. But if your counting HWN as 2 of those not so much.
  10. I despise Sponge Bob so much that I have never been to action theater since he showed up.
  11. Glad you had a great time. As to The Beast, I love the ride in 1-2 but got really jolted around in 1-3. On 3 row PTC trains you will almost always get a smoother ride in the middle bench. Your not over the wheels there. I completely agree about Firehawk. Flight of Fear is still pretty fun, but would be sooo much better with out the stop on the mid-course. I remember the first time I ordered a Skyline chilli dog I thought the same thing as you did. I love them but can't afford to get them inside the park. When I do get them I always order 3 of them. Can you ever have too much cheese?
  12. We have Platinum Passes this year too. I have already been to 3 different CF parks. Also have SF & DW passes. I was thinking of getting HW passes, but they are pretty expensive even with the ACE discount. Compared to the discounted single day tickets and the cost for Holiwood nights I figured I would have to go to the park 4 other times to break even. Being in the Columbus area, I just don't think that is going to happen.
  13. My version of ejector vs floater air. Ejector air would cause you to be thrown out of the train if you didn't have restraints. Floater air causes you to leave your seat, but not so much that you wouldn't land back down in it if you didn't have restraints. We had a great day in the park today too. Got there just before 10:00 and left after the 6:00 Too Much TV show. AE 2 Backlot 1 Beast 2 Boo 2 Carousel 1 Delirium 1 Diamondback 3 Drop Tower 1 Flight Deck 1 FOF 1 Invertigo 1 Race for your life 1 Racer 2 Shake Rattle & Roll 1 Too Much TV 1 Train 1 Vortex 1 Woodstock 1
  14. It was great meeting you last night. It was a great night to be at the park.

  16. YMBAKIAIY drop everything and decide to drive 1 1/2 hours south because the rain storms that were predicted all week never showed up.
  17. What a great night at the park. Only sprinkled a couple of times but enough that it kept the hoards away. Diamondback was at worst a 2 train wait and often walk on. The only negative to the night was that I lost my phone on Firehawk. It was in a buttoned pocket. I still can't figure how it escaped.
  18. Well trains are moving on Diamondback.
  19. Six Flags has had a habit of taking apart coasters and leaving them spread around. There was a SLC from Astroworld that was laying in a field next to Great Escape before recently being moved and assembled at LaRonde. SFA has a coaster in a field that can be seen from Superman.
  20. On all the rides where you might have problems, yes. As with fitting on DB, that depends, MF, and TTD have smaller waist size requirements due to their belts, and on Raptor and WT its the chest size that will cause you problems. I think I'll be fine, I'm probably more average than exceptional anyway, though could stand to lose some weight. I don't have any issues with any of the rides at KI, though for whatever reason being in the "back seat" on Stunt Coaster the restraint doesn't fit comfortably but have no problem in the front seat of the ride. Had no issues on any other ride. Waist is 42" so I'm not morbidly obese just could stand to lose a few pounds. A couple of years ago though while waiting to get on Vortex there was a dude so fat that it took two of the employees to get his restraint to fasten with the seatbelt deal. The biggest issues I see are on rides like Beast & Racer that have the divider on the cars where it used to be one seat. I know that was done for safety reasons but still seems unnecessary (other than to make it more idiot proof) I am a 40 waist and MF, TTD & WT were tight, but I was still able to ride. One thing I found on both MF & TTD that the belt would fit, but I couldn't get it to buckle myself. When I twisted to get the buckle fastened, it made me too tight. Someone else could buckle it just fine though.
  21. I don't think there is much risk for GG's reputation. This is a troubled coaster if after the work it is still a troubled ride most would still blame the original design. On the flip side, if GG could tame SOB either by track work, Timberliners or both, they would gain quite a bit by being the company to fix one of the worlds worst coasters. I would love to see what a set of Timberliners would do on SOB. I think that the steering trains would make a huge difference.
  22. I am surprised that you didn't get more in with your flash pass. What day were you at the park?
  23. 1560 The guns still didn't feel like they were working correctly. I wish they had a red laser to help aim. I know that several other of these shooting dark rides have them.
  24. Go Browns, I completely respect your opinion even though it differs from mine. As to Diamondback, I have read many comments that it is a boring and uninspired layout too. One thing though, BGTguide.com requested that you not redistribute their images.
