  1. Well, other people on here take everything as a hint.
  2. An ark in that location is a little ironic, don't you think?
  3. Probably like 2 days. 41 hours stuck in DC traffic, and then 7 hours to KI.
  4. Maybe Vortex could be next (with a paint job in the same colors and the same name)?
  5. In-queue usage isn't that bad honestly. As long as you are still conversing with your group if you're in one. You could figure out where you are going after that ride, or checking up on friends across the park. That said, once you get to the station, you should put your phone in a secure pocket or in a bin (excluding FoF, Banshee, and Firehawk), or give it to someone who can put it in a secure pocket. Also, leave your phone in a locker or car if you're in the waterpark. That should be common sense, but you never know.
  6. Well, you weren't wrong about Winterfest returning!
  7. Smartphones are extremely useful in parks now. You can use them as a map, to find wait times, to look for food/merchandise locations, for special deals, to take photos, and to find out where your friends are if they aren't with you. That said, a ride is not a place to use anything. Not even a paper map.
  8. Are the Muppets staying in DHS? I was under the impression Muppetvision was going to close.
  9. My college actually had a fair this past Friday and they had a similar ride (also called Sizzler, it's exactly like the one in the video). There were no seatbelts, just the large lap restraints. No one was flung from the ride. So there's a few possibilities here: The people who were ejected were very lightweight (not likely, as the girls were 15 and 16) Riders can be ejected from any ride without seatbelts (also not likely, as numerous rides have operated without seatbelts for many years but had them added as a redundant safety feature, while others operate to this day without seatbelts) The ride is a different model of ride than the one I rode that has a seatbelt rather than a lap bar, and the seatbelt happened to be broken. The cabin had a broken restraint latch and needs to be repaired. The ride has a design flaw. 3 and 4 are the most likely, followed by 5, then followed distantly by 1 and 2. With 1, add weight requirements. Height requirements are hopefully already a thing here, but maybe they need to be heightened. 2 probably doesn't need to be considered (although adding seatbelts to rides that don't have them isn't a bad thing!) With both 3 or 4, the cabin should have been taken out of service and blocked by yellow tape. With 4, I assume that seatbelts were definitely on the ride as well, as it's weird to refer to a lap bar as a seatbelt. If just the seatbelt was broken, I don't think anything would have happened, but I would take the cabin out of service anyway just as a precaution. With 5, obviously the whole ride should be taken out of service. In any case, this is definitely operator error, and I'd even call it criminal negligence.
  10. Eh, Google is kinda guilty of that, to some extent. Just as an example....they acquired Songza (a great free, ad-free music steaming site that I really enjoyed) and crappily integrated it with Play Music and started injecting ads every few songs. I prefer my music grilled.
  11. I believe so. I also remember HW saying that someone found out Thunderbird a few weeks before the announcement, told them, and kept their mouth shut.
  12. Raven gets torn down for a new gigacoaster?
  13. Wow, it's clear they neutered it even with the photos being taken at different angles.
  14. Clearly it means the Eiffel Tower will be replaced with a 1969-foot-tall tower with a gigacoaster going through it! The contents of this post are purely satirical and should not be taken at face value.
  15. It was an exaggeration. It's still less than a mile away.
  16. Regarding the UofL talk, their football stadium is basically in Kentucky Kingdom's parking lot.
