Student ID Discounts to HAUNT this Thursday (10/15/09)

i wouldnt mind if they closed a few mazes down early. if it is to open, i would expect it to be incredibly empty, which is exactly how i like it and we should be able to do everything that we want before then. the only ride i care about riding is The Beast, but i will be watching, its pretty obvious when rides are down as it gets eerily quiet. -

yeah, and thats if they don't pull a fast one and close the park again... ill be there, if it is open... -
i would call the park on that one, but im pretty sure that you can buy tickets a while before the park actually opens like maybe at 6? id call the park on that one for the exact timing as well.

it honestly depends on the weather, but overall fridays are not near as crowded as any saturday is. you wouldnt find the near walkons like you did opening friday, but it would be a lot better than saturday period. the best days however to go would be this coming thursday and sunday. those two days are only this coming weekend though...
-
and i bet next year they wont have such a news preview.. ugh. super lame.
-
saturday afternoons in nick u are far worse than sunday afternoons in nick u.

New Ride Next Year might be a King Cobra or Screamin' Demon. They are wanting to turn Kings Island back to the past. haha right because we need a coaster that you have to walk up flights of stairs to just do one loop, or a coaster in which the general public doesnt generally find appealing (or even worth riding).... im sure that would drum up business... and allow more than a few disability advocates to hang around.... lol!

So, I noticed an interesting KI shirt...
TheSonofBeast replied to CedarPointer's topic in Kings Island
yeah, in fact they have a maverick outfit with those shorts in the queline that you see through glass while waiting in line... -
they have a radar service that they use. its normally when rain becomes so heavy they shut rides down. or if thunder and lightning are within x many miles then they get a call and the rides go down. There is a little discretion, but not much...

they canceled the flood warning for today already, which is at least a sign of hope for tonight...

When was the last time for Scooby-Doo bucks?
TheSonofBeast replied to josh4958's topic in Kings Island
no i thought they switched over to dora bucks? they may still have some old scooby ones around though... -
yeah. i in fact plan to go on rainy off days, for that reason. its my favorite time to visit the park.

flood watches are all the way up here in dayton, and pretty much anywhere from here to cinci and others outside of that even are affected.
-
that flood watch doesn't end until LATE friday night. i guess they are just hoping for some freak change of weather before then and arent calling it until they have to...

oh i am ticked. this is not cool. tonight at least theres a chance of getting some things in. tomorrow is looking disastrous.
-
the gum was cleaned off late august, they probably just got any new gum that accumulated then painted it. thats a good thing though.

people should seriously look up their facts. The Beast has always had trims since its opening year. how much trim however, has changed. also the type of trims.

i stand corrected on the paramount/ Cedar Fair things. i thought that paramount management ran the park until the 2006 season, then it was switched completely over to Cedar Fair for 2007. and i said i wouldnt expect them to open it for last rides if they were to close it. the point is, it would be a terrible way or the ride to go down, just closing one random day with a phone call.
-
you guys got me all wrong. im not pointing the finger at Cedar Fair for Son of Beasts problems. i am however pointing out the serious lapses in judgment Cedar Fair has had with dealing with the Son of Beast situation. The only thing they did right was to tell the pres the real story before it became too much of a huge disaster. Then it just went downhill. They had guest relations constantly lie about why it was down saying it was down for maintenance. Then the state of ohio released its findings on the Son of Beast incident which was picked up by quite a few news places and then just nothing. The park didnt say anything for about a month until finally they said Son of Beast will not be opening for the rest of the season. They have done nothing other than quietly remove things from the park slowly throughout the season. If it is to not reopen, that would mean that there would be NO chance of last rides, on a ride that could be simply opened with a few inspections from the state of Ohio. It would just have closed June 16th, and never have reopened. When paramount dealt with the 2006 issue, it battled it head on with questions and answers instead of complete silence. The silence is what has driven this thread and will continue to drive this thread. the moment Kings Island says we will close Son of Beast for good, or will try and reopen it for 2010 this thread will be pointless.

very light crowds. the only downside is that its closes at midnight... i will definitely be there!
-
it should also be mentioned that it was beyond freezing that night (about 38 degrees) and that it had been a lot busier earlier in the day. and im pretty sure it was 11:22. (and im not kidding, or am i?) my point being, dont take that as an excuse to wait to go till haunt as it will only get busier each week, weather permitting. id imagine with halloween on a saturday this year it will be way beyond rediculous that day and not recommended for anyone.

from what i saw last saturday, the lines continued to be about 30-1hr until 10ish then they slowly diminished. it did rain a little after that, however.... my suggestion is that now matter what, make you last ride a night ride on The Beast with the fog at just before 1 am....
