  1. i love that the link takes you to a page that tells you every councilmans address and phone number! lol they must really not worry about privacy in Mason... see also: Council Bios
  2. on opening weekend that saturday i remember fireworks. me and my dad looked at each other and were like what these are pointless as it doenst close till 1am. that being said i love the closing fireworks at ten and if they were to scrap those more than a few people would be ****ed.
  3. i think he meant Werner Stengel, the designer who has yet to ride Son of Beast...
  4. I found this on screamscape Here, and thought it was interesting... Also, see this excerpt from ACE. Big Dipper is already and Roller Coaster Classic, and to keep that you would have to not change the lapbar systems... But this doesnt apply to Landmark status either... I wonder if this really is a ploy to get a buyer?
  5. i remember reading a post shaggy did a long time ago mentioning that Diamondback (or the plan for the ride Diamondback) has been proposed countless times and paramount parks simply didnt want to do it. That would explain why it got going right off The Bat, and why i think Cedar Fair is solely responsible for Diamondback as a ride.
  6. Little Bills Giggle Coaster!
  7. yeah, i saw them last time i rode drop zone just sitting there. seems like a waste. they have been out in the open for a long time....
  8. i think the accuracy goes down when you do that though... i learned that if you shoot less you would end up with more hits.
  9. it was pretty insanely loud, but not as bad as the loudspeaker for when people are standing up or touching props. that thing is beyond rediculously loud!!!
  10. now that is great! lol
  11. That is a great article by the way. Thanks for posting that. your welcome. it really is...
  12. even though it is a little late, while looking up something else i found more than a few nice beast logos embedded in a history piece on The Beast. Part 1 Part 2
  13. Part 1 Part 2 From part 1 of this very reliable source...
  14. i dont know what it is either. but im pretty sure it wasnt you. simply because there are many days where there is no line, and its open 10-10. you simply didnt have the time of day to do so...
  15. they do very slowly degrade over time, but the point is they just dont work one day and then fail the next. they can almost definitely monitor how strong the magnets are and when they need if they ever need to replace them. its not like an on and off power switch. magnets are just magnets...
  16. its magnetic i believe. they dont just stop working one day...
  17. yeah, i rode it twice with no wait around 3pm!
  18. it is recommended and ohio states you must follow the guidelines. it closes down before everything else when lightning is coming, as well because of its extreme height. the point is, they finally got whatever part and it is now operating!!!!
  19. No? Then what did you mean by this: Added BOLD emphasis: Eiffel Tower is about 350' Drop Tower is 315' SoB is 218' How do you possibly believe that SoB is the tallest ride? I meant to say coaster. It was the tallest coaster at Kings Island. I Honestly think the top 3 things in Kings Islands skyline are The Eiffel Tower, drop zone, and Son of Beast. it is a beauty to look at. and i didnt say that i believe a small coaster cant be good or shouldnt be good, im saying for that piece of land it should be big or Kings Island will have the public ticked off that they lost a giant ride to receive a small one. It has nothing to do with whether or not i would like the coaster. Diamondback is one of my least favorite at ki and it is quite tall, and Maverick is my absolute favorite at Cedar Point. This is not what i want to be there, its what i feel should be there on that piece of land.
  20. so you are saying that Adventure Express is more popular than Firehawk because it has at least twice the amount of people riding it each year? and it isnt really fair to judge popularity of a ride till it is not the new ride that is advertised on park maps etc. let us wait until Cedar Point has another big coaster to do that. ANY ride will have a big rediculous line the opening year if advertised at all...
  21. why dont you just bring both just in case?
  22. i would call both parks to get confirmation on those, but im guessing for the second question i would say no.
  23. its a prefab. i dont understand maybe you havent read all my posts. I refuse to ride a prefab based on the principles i typed earlier. it has nothing to do with that particular ride, or downtime or anything of that sort.
  24. downtime and smoothness are not the issue. i do agree that its agreed among pretty much everyone that rides el toro that it is smooth. Downtime, i don't know and i don't really care too much about the lines. the fact is the reason they are built is because of decreased maintenance cost, not because of their uniqueness. It takes the designers thrill of creating a effective wooden coaster, because even if they dont do it as interesting as the others it will always be smooth... you lose the innovation The only way i would ever even consider riding a prefab is if it were in its own category completely. not wooden, nor steel. As of right now, its included in all the wooden categories and that just simply isn't a fair comparison. it doesnt matter though, as i highly doubt that they will be...
