My girlfriend and I went down to the park at around 4 yesterday and stayed until close. We spent a majority of the time in Soak City. Nothing exciting... My only question is, because there were storms and we were out in the rain, how come the umbrellas at Soak City aren't waterproof? I understand that they are for blocking the sun, but they are a mesh-like material, and when it rained, a mist still came through the umbrella. We still got wet, while trying to avoid rain. I didn't know they did that? Also, Delirium was running last night towards closing, but without people on it. And Adventure Express is awesome after dark. Thanks for reading!

Wait until October But seriously, it may be because of the heat recent heat wave/drought. I don't go on Saturdays because I don't want to deal with crowds, but I know several people who didn't want to go because it was so hot out. There are plenty of potential reasons, this may be one?

I once had my stuff on a chair and came back to find my stuff on the ground, and the chair was no where to be found. Nothing was stolen, so I didn't mind too much...

I vote there should be a mega-topic about downtime and which rides are having issues...

Ok I hear good things about it everywhere I look, but TC made it look unimpressive...

So how late does it have to be in order to be considered late?

My family went to Kings Island and the Reds game today! The rain stayed away all day, but so did the crowds. I enjoyed watching my 8 year old sister really experience roller coasters for the first time today! Her favorite was Vortex, which surprised me. Oh, and the Reds played well and won (again)! Overall, it was a great day, and I loved spending it with my family, which is honestly what it's all about.

Is it just me, or did they make Thunderhead look kind of lame. I have never ridden it, and because I don't have the experience, I was going based simply off of what they said. From what I saw, it did not look like it compared to the other three in the contest. I do not know what the ride is actually like, but I have heard good things about it. I just wasn't sure it compared to the others... thoughts?

I voted for the Maverick-style one as well. Since it is my favorite ride...

Does that mean they won't relocate it anywhere else in the park, or not relocate it to another park either?

On top of Festhaus But seriously, I can't think of a unique place. I think it is just accepted that the next big attraction will be expanded into the woods somewhere.

As a Cedar Point guy, I will say that it feels like forever since there has been a new ride. I know, STR is newish, and I'm glad they are making all of these cosmetic upgrades, but it feels like forever. This may also be because of the coaster-every-other-year deal I grew up with... I am excited

Diamondback and Boo Blasters

I was told by a supervisor (sketchy, I know) that the reason they do this is so that employees can more easily monitor the guests. She said that there were too many disturbances (fights, line-jumping, etc...) inside of the building, and it was difficult to handle the situations well because there were so many people in such a compacted area. They have an employee sitting outside, and they can monitor more people if they are outdoors.

Diamondback won't win because it is up against rides that are much better. I'm hoping Vortex will win but I don't see that either. I still love my rides though

I have trouble seeing it beat Voyage... but there's always hope

They don't need to try to beat Firehawk because they already have many rides that are better... and even if they were, it's not hard to do. (I don't like Firehawk, if you couldn't tell)

I always thought Maxair was bigger than Delirium. It sits more people, therefore the disk is larger. I might be wrong though?
