Should Kings Island Change Their 2013 Season Pass Prices?
coasterfanatic83 replied to Joncars05's topic in KI Polls
I said no because college is expensive, and I need to scrap a dime wherever I can get one. That being said, I would love to see an increase in prices. I believe that they would make more money (obviously) and thin out the crowd. I find, like many have said, that there are too many 12 year olds running around and acting like fools, and if prices are increased, I believe that parents would be a lot less likely to buy their beloved little delinquent a pass. -
I prefer Rivertown because of the western/wooded-area feel. I like frontier town at CP too, so my preferences are consistent

I think they could add a few more elements to it (waterfalls, more rapids, etc...)

I'm going to just make the two reports into one big one, so here goes I went to KI on the 4th with my cousin and our girlfriends, and we used the VIP passes I won from the countdown to 40 contest. It was so nice being able to just jump in front of lines and sit where we wanted, but we got several dirty looks and comments (oh well ). We rode everything multiple times, and the free drinks were nice because it was unbearably hot. It was also my first time eating at the Rivertown Buffet, and I enjoyed it. Our passes expired at 7 pm, so at around 6:15 we decided to go to Diamondback and marathon that for a half hour (it surprised me how exhilarating 10 consecutive laps are). We then went over to look at Soak City for a bit, and it was my first time in the new wave pool, which was nice. The fireworks show was phenomenal that night. I went to CP on the 7th with my cousin again and it was ridiculously hot. We got there at around 11:30 and sat in the waterpark until 4ish. After that we went and rode a few rides, and the waits weren't too bad for a Saturday. At about 6:15 we went over to the Luminosity stage to get our spots for the Carly Rae Jepsen concert. She was supposed to start at 7 but didn't come out until around 8:30, which did not make anybody too happy. By showtime, the crowd stretched from Mantis to the Dodgems. Her show was incredible, and she sounded good live, which surprised me. I am a fan now . After the concert we went over to TGI Fridays and ate, then went back to the park around 10. We rode a lot of the major rides without waiting hardly at all because the crowds seemed to thin out once the concert ended. I watched Luminosity at the ended of the night (my first time) and I thought it was impressive. Overall, it was a great couple of trips to my two favorite places in Ohio

Welcome to the shark tank that is KIC!

On Monday I saw some woman running around screaming her kids name and not finding him... I don't understand why it is so hard to keep an eye on a child, especially in a public place.

The Beast, but only because I don't get around much and haven't experienced very many.

Windseeker still down at CP?
coasterfanatic83 replied to jzarley's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Or just a "Which WindSeeker is Working?" topic... -
Today I overheard somebody describing Beast to one of his buddies. "The Beast is like a mix of Diamondback and Vortex."

This morning I took my little brother to the park to ride some rides and go see some of his favorite Cincinatti Reds players. He loved hearing them talk about all sorts of things! He said he had a great day, and that he loved going with me to Kings Island (which was my favorite part of the day). In terms of rides, Flight Deck was only running one train, and BLSC was only running two, which caused slower lines. I also noticed (and maybe I'm crazy) that there wasn't a hitch on Flight Deck's lift hill. WindSeeker also got stuck at the top of the tower for about 20 minutes, and didn't re-open while we were still there. My brother doesn't really like rides, but will do some of the smaller stuff, so I didn't do too many of the bigger rollercoasters, but it looked like mostly everything was less than a 5 minute wait. Overall, I had a great day at a mostly empty park, and spent some good time with my younger brother

^^ They just repainted Flight Deck recently. And how could you add a 3rd train to Firehawk?
-
Vortex- I know this is unrealistic, but I would like to see it low to the ground, not elevated. Fill it in? Racer- Let one of them go backwards again Invertigo- Scrap Metal Diamondback- More trees around the track area Beast- Nothing Flight Deck- More theming or foliage Adventure Express- Fog in the tunnels Firehawk- I'm not sure how to play with this... Flight of Fear- More strobes/lights, fog Son of Beast- Campfire? Just a few things I would like to see. Overall, the rides in our park are very nice (I'm not complaining at all) but some small improvements could be added.

I have slept on the train, in my car, at the former Boomerang Bay, and at the picnic tables between KIMV and Potato Works. All successful experiences

Kings Island-5/30/12 and Cedar Point-6/2/12
coasterfanatic83 replied to dudecoasterman's topic in Trip Reports
Glad you enjoyed the Cedar Point trip! -
Raptor at Cedar Point seems to always have a permanent power hour going, and I think its fun to watch. They go through people faster than a 5 layer burrito...

Why is Beast open for ERT? Has it been like that all year?

We rode PT once and tried to get on TTD but it shut down while we were in line around 7:00ish
