  1. Are we getting back our old fashioned spinny rides like The Screaming Eagle planes, Terpy?
  2. Thanks for the clarification.
  3. I recall the petting zoo at LeSourd's- there was a gum ball machine with corn in it that you got to feed the animals. A horse bit my pinky. I'm not fond of petting zoos. I don't think it's best for the animals. I'd prefer kids see the animals in their habitat at a farm.
  4. So it's one Haunt visit with the Gold Pass this year, and if I go again, as I do, I pay the entry fee?
  5. and who doesn't mourn the loss of Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer shouting at each other at the top of their lungs while walking the mile to Top Gun? Honestly, though, one thing I loved was the huge jet painting that was on the way to the ride.
  6. that would be fantastic if the kids could still interact with them. I suspect it could be done the same way Disney's Haunted Mansion or Boo Blasters are done.
  7. Well, what's a diversion? I'm hoping for entertainers and entertainment. (Does anyone remember "Talking Turkey"? He sat on a tower on a corner in Octoberfest. He was like Don Rickles with feathers. I knew the actor. He was behind this black veil, hidden from the crowd, and punk kids didn't know how Turkey could see them throw ice at him.) They just cleared away two piles of junk, SOB and TA, but when we speak of that area, Terpy keeps saying 'diversion'. Perhaps it's not where any new attractions are going to go, perhaps the space left is diverting us from seeing clearly. Ouimet keeps speaking about 'staycations' and in my mind, he's on the money. I don't see Wolf Lodge handing over the keys any time soon, but it would bring more money to the park if KI had their own lodge.
  8. I love dark rides. Lesourdesville had two, but KI only has Boo Blasters. It would be great to have different themes.
  9. I was expecting Pigpen to be part of the first line up. He's pretty popular, but I wonder how they would do the cloud around him, or would they even bother? The characters always look well cleaned, I wonder if they would just stitch some etch marks on his face and clothes to represent Schultz's inking of dirt?
  10. What's with all of the sour remarks concerning CF in the comments? KI has greatly improved, but Knott's goes downhill? Will someone explain this to me. There is a comment about Knott's getting rid of the horses. I've never been to Knott's, but isn't the cowboy shows part of the big thrill that is Knott's?
  11. Adventurous Octoberfest, the Viking zone?
  12. I feel so bad for her family, friends and associates. When I look at the ride associates, I think to myself how great their lives will be, they have this great experience, and are having fun at a hard working job at a young age. I'm sorry her time was cut short.
  13. I move really fast once I hit the park. Good luck with that.
  14. I want a fiesta. And a Jimmy John's.
  15. It looks like a fun ride on paper, but yeh, I agree, the "ow ow ow" factor of the POV makes me glad I took my cousin's advice and never rode it.
  16. When I proposed to my husband in the horrific "Days of Thunder"- (I was afraid of losing the ring on another ride.)
  17. For what he's done, and what he's bringing to the park, I've got no complaints. This isn't the best of time for the entertainment industry, and the parks are doing well. Do the commenters think his payroll was a million during his high school and college jobs? Starter wages are just that, for starters. one shouldn't be thirty five years old and still shoveling fries due to lack of ambition. It the complainers want better wages, perhaps they can try for jobs higher then minimum wage, or create their own niche.
  18. I'm just not hep on the big coaster idea. I know it sounds silly, because I don't have the proper words to express myself, but I'd like more 'social' rides- more of a joint experience. One of the things about the Haunt I like is the social interactions with family and friends. The reactions to frightening things are hilarious. In most rides, you face front, it's a singular experiences until the end of the ride, where you look at each other, and gauge what just happened. One of the fun things about having a friend across from you on Invertigo, is that you can see their faces, and laugh how goofy it is.
  19. Did you get my sister's permission to use her theme song?
  20. This sounds awful, and I'm sure it never happened at KI, but I'm always slightly horrified at go karts. There's a segment of the population that wear head scarves as their everyday dress, and I've read so many articles on scarves, as well as long hair, getting caught in go kart engines.
  21. I would want a FunHouse, but nowadays a walkthrough funhouse isn't feasible, even with closed circuit tvs. It could still be a fun bang up ride through.
  22. I think the souvenir selling was a nicety to diehard fans. Sometimes the good will is worth the money lost. Besides, it's better than having someone try to get a piece from a dangerous construction site.
  23. I like the tiered idea of a premium Halloween. You get what you pay for, and to have more elaborate monster designs and interactions would intrigue me. Of course I'm going to like the evening lighting and music, as I have a casual bet on Luminosity coming to KI (But the one in CP is sponsored by Pepsi- is the sponsor going to change now?) I'd like more venues that would bring my sister to the park. She's only three years older than me, and we keep inviting her, but she always backs out. I think she thinks she's too old, but as stated in the article, your childhood vacation somewhat determines your adult likes in vacationing, and I know she'd love it if we could just get her into the gate. Her kids come to the park with me all the time, and have a great experience. I'm hoping that perhaps there will be a vacation/hotel package worked out where there's a set price for an overnight stay and two days at the park. I think that would influence her to return to the park.
  24. I so much love Dark Rides. With the lights on, the props look so corny. Well, they looked kind of corny in the dark, too, to be honest. There's something about the way the carts just rammed into doors, and the way they turned so sharply that I loved.
  25. Would not the gun have been confiscated at the gate? They perused my things.
