My question is this: If they are advertising the demolition of their biggest wooden roller coaster via social media, why not have a webcam on their main site? Do you want I should ask the PR firm I keep tied in the utility room of my cottage?

KI PR posted photos of the demolition on Twitter, which, I think, is good PR. People will wonder what's going to take it's place. Everyone likes a good mystery.

To be honest, I'm very happy to see it go. When in line for AE, a kid was asking an adult about "That ride", pointing to SOB. Regular patrons know all the facts, but it looked like a dad and his kids on vacation. The adult says, no, that ride's not open, people got hurt, they shut it down. That's a bum deal for a kid to hear. Part of the thrill of KI is the safety. Once you've seen workmen walk The Beast, that reputation is cemented. Then to hear "People got hurt." That's not good. The look on that kid's face after hearing that wasn't something I'd like to see on a ride goer. The idea of rides not being safe is not an image the park wants to convey. I'll be very happy to see that blemish leave, and hopefully fun, safe things to take it's place. The park employees work to hard on KI's reputation to have that big old fat thing blotch it.

Agreed. Particularly in an election year, Cedar Fair should be more savvy than implying only Democrats are frightening. Pretty sure Reagan got me on Friday... I know they are only going by the calender, and they aren't trying to be political, but that's also a reason to have both sides. Who knows? George Washington with an ax could be lurking around. Last year Bill Clinton had the misfortune of leaping out right in front of my neice, the only thing I could think of was "Not her, you don't!" I hope he got the humor of that. If it were any other president, the thought wouldn't have entered my head. Bausch and Lombe used to have a good eyedrop solution, I don't know if they still make it, I no longer wear contacts. Fair warning, anytime you are in a situation where say, the residue of something like fog can get in your eyes, sometimes drops can only make it worse, it a gross way.

I have issues with fear of heights, that's why it's a big win when I conquer a ride like that. Three hours, I don't know how I would reacted, but after my guts untwisted themselves, I would given myself a big huge Cowardly Lion sized medal, compensation or not. Funny that when my parachute strings got tangled, I was as calm as a cucumber, like I was changing a lightbulb, but that was me saving myself- not me waiting for someone else to fix the situation. I hate relying on others to fix things, I have superiority issues that way.

Obama and Clinton? I love that they had Presidents from both main parties last year. I hope the GOP gets equal representation when it comes to the Haunt. When it comes to scaring me, it's a bipartisan issue.

Shoot, Foghorn, I was hoping for genuine deli sandwiches.

I can watch YouTube on iPad. Do you have ios6? There's a downloadable YouTube app for ios6.

Latkes? Like Wertheim's in Covington?

I don't know if I wanna go there. It was a party.... The fog used at KI doesn't bother me in the least, though I'm sure it's an irritant to other park goers. The fog used on the "Not to touch the Earth" segment in the film was oil based, as I was told so. I was having real problems with my contacts, and was told by a stagehand to take them out NOW. When I pulled them out, they were melted and perforated. He had said they were using an oil based fog. I don't think any park would take the risk of using such a product at Halloween.

Don't be. I found myself going the wrong way down a LA highway with a Lakota tribal chief at the wheel. In a Nissan. With ten other people.

I think I would somewhat enjoy dinners going on all through the Haunt. Imagine being an average joe and having a troupe of me's walk through screaming at you as you eat crab legs.
-
Yah.

I'm gonna name drop a bit. I was on the set of the Doors, and lost my contacts to the fog, so it is corrosive. No one I know that wears contacts have had the same problem with KI fog, which makes me glad.

New Servatti Pastry and Deli shop at International Street Kings Island
Tanna replied to BB1's topic in Kings Island
Pastry AND Deli. If it replaces Cinnabon, there's a possibility of it selling rolls that would surplant the Cinnabon rolls, as well as having a good deli sandwich. Some people don't like to eat heavy at the park. Are the sandwiches going to be pretzel sandwiches? It looks like KI is going more upscale in it's choices, with more selective chains. -
I like DaveWorldEmporer's idea. With the water running, the trees, and the pathways, it would be better to have a restuarant there. It's actually really pretty. It's large enough. It's close enough to the Funnel Cake shop on International that I sometimes grab a cake, some coffee, and take a break, so I guess it's my resturarant already. It's too large to be used for what it's being used for now, and a waste. I accidently called it Story Area because the Paramount Story used to be there.
-
I see that a lot of parents take small children into the Story area for a rest. Sometimes little kids just get tired. I'll get a coffee and funnel cake and sit there for a break. I wish the water worked, but it doesn't. I like that area, it's a small respite away from everything, smack in the middle of the park.

I love the slow reveal of the Wall of Monsters. I love the Wall of Monsters.

Though it's economically a waste for someone my size to go to the feast, I think it's great. People in the forums had been speaking of a sit down dining experience, and there you go. It ups the anti for a good night out. It will also bring in a different caliber of customer, the kind that doesn't want to see a midget bleed. I was married on Halloween, and I'm sure, especially as Ohio is a very Halloween state, there's tons of couples that also share the same wedding anniversary. This would be great date night to celebrate- a dinner, than some fun scares. It does look like it's going to be a Chamber of Horrors style wax museum. I think this is a great addition. KI has really added a lot to the Haunt this year. (I've been dying to have a birthday party at the Dinosaur Party Pavilion, but my bday comes to late in the year for that, ... and besides, I'm 48.)

I saw a phone theft once, It occurred way over by the Beer Garden. This guy ran past us, someone yelled, "Stop him! He has my phone!" All I could think of at the time was, "Buddy, you have to run all the way down International Street, through a crowd, through a passel of monsters, and out of a gate that has a constant flow of patrons, also while being spotted by an army of personnel and security during your sprint. Was there any thinking on your part?" He was stopped.

I get a little wordy, don't I?

When I went through Death Row, it was a Home for Wayward Surly Girls. I heard later that they used Club Blood dancers as prisoners, and it did Not work. Those girls were hired to be sultry and smoldering dangerous, not play a game of "Scared Straight". It was just awful. Soured my haunting experience for the rest of the night.

Everything coastermike listed and The Bat. And the fun theming throughout the park. (Planet Snoopy looks spanky, though.)

I'd prefer it to wait until after Haunt, to insure no citizens could be hurt by a weird, freakish piece of flying debris.
-
One Haunt I saw a few skirmishes. One was in the line at DB, I can't recall where the other one was right off the top of my head, but it, too, was in a place where there was no way to back away from it. I think it's a valid topic, problems are not solved by letting them stay invisible.
