I like the Congo/Lost World theme that's being discussed in threads above. Get back some of the look that was around the Cobra for a while.

That may not be a bad thing. I think the crowds might cause some of the rowdiness I've been witnessing at Haunts.

It's been there a while, I recall seeing it many times before, but my husband just noticed it last trip. There's an exit opposite the entry from the round section in the middle of the queue that I seems to be the handicapped entrance/exit. I never could figure out why the stairlift was there when there was an easier means via the alternate entry.

Totally hookied today and went to the park. 45 minute wait was the most for a ride. WindSeeker, and Drop Zone are working, I didn't get over to Action Zone to see about Delirium, but I could easily see Invertigo was. The changes to The Racer are great, the divider being gone really opens up the place and gets people out of the way faster. I rode The Beast without having to claw onto anything to keep from being rattled. The ride was magnificent. The new track made the ride so much better, I could really enjoy it. All of the ride attendants- well, all of the workers- were amazing with their attitudes. They all had great smiles, greeted us, and looked like they really enjoyed being there. It really perked up the whole park. I love the actual ride of FOF, but the warehouse is starting to look peaked and tired. "I've opened the hangar up the public!" "Oh, no!" The camera switches to- empty queues and crickets. There was a small problem, on International Street. They had no coffee started at 6pm at the Funnel Cake shop (We said we'd just run across to Starbucks), and the making of funnel cakes were slowed down to a crawl, though I don't know why. The workers were working, so I don't know if they had run out of batter, or what, but they were trying to remedy the situation. The worst part of waiting for the cake were the patrons. What horrible people. Being snide and rude and demanding things for free, which, from my experience, does not make oil heat up faster, or pour batter faster. After cake, we went to Starbucks across the way, to get coffee. Again, it was not the workers holding up the line, but five cast members of the show that evidently features "Rock the Boat", as two of the five members were singing and dancing in the line, taking their time ordering coffee and chatting with the Starbuck's workers. As one of the many persons behind them, they didn't represent the park well to me, as it was obvious they were park employees by their performances and demeanor. The funnel cake was good enough even cold, to make up for it. It took thirty minutes for cake, thirty minutes for coffee. The personal high light to me, however, was AE. We boarded AE for a quick ride before leaving, and in the cave, everyone was spontaneously doing the tiki dance! I have minions.

Haha! Days of Thunder. I proposed to my husband on that ride, because I was afraid of losing the ring on a better one! Good Riddance to that Tom Cruise fiasco, and this is from someone who has a sentimental attachment.

On the Haunt the year it was built. I'd seen it being built the Haunt before, and due to a dream that my riding friends laughed at me about, had to ride it. It was cold, the fog was great, the turnaround felt like glass, this was the first time I'd been on a ride where there was nothing around me, it was like flying. It was a dream come true. I think for the most part, we keep riding the same rides because it invokes in part the first time we rode it. I've ridden The Beast I don't know how many times, but there's still that "Oh sh-t" moment that I had with my sister on looking down the first hill.

To be honest, on my one visit last year, I got out of the water because a woman started taking off her bandaids in the very shallow of the wave pool, and the pus from her wounds was flowing into the water. Just do us all a favor, KI, rename Soak City "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" and put some honesty in that advertising.

I like the train for nostalgic reasons. They had one at LeSourdsville, and also, they used to have the western show during the ride of the KI train. I'll go for a break, to get a nice breeze. The cowboys during the Haunt were great. I fooled my young cousin by telling her stories of the old Indian/cowboy show they used to have, how fun they were, then bam! Ghost Cowboys.

I think your story is interesting. The cracking sound was that loud? Was it from the Rose Bowl? I hear conflicting stories about where the damage to the passengers actually occurred. I do recall reading somewhere of an architect watching the structure sway laterally as the cars made the round. The roughness increased after the crack? I wish of the riders of your car were available to add to this. According to the investigation done by the state, a cracked vertical timber in the "Rose Bowl" caused a deviation between two track joints which created a "bump." As the train navigated the course and came into contact with that bump, it injured the riders, but the ride was able to complete its course. When those riders returned to the station with visible injuries, the ride crew took action and stopped operation - stopping one train on the lift hill so that it would not encounter the problem in the Rose Bowl as well. Those riders on the lift hill were evacuated and the ride then shut down. As for the ride swaying, if you stood in Top Gun's line and looked at the right angle you could se the lift hill sway. This wasn't a flaw, it was supposed to have some give as most tall structures do. Thank you. So the noted sway was the same as what I see on the lift supports of DB, which is oddly comforting to me, for some reason. I guess I'm reminded of Bruce Lee's quote, "Be like water."

It's not the price in some cases, it's the availability of lockers.
-
You weren't even the slightest perplexed by it?

I doubt it will sour him on thrill rides. I've broken my nose twice, once on Vortex, another time on White Water Canyon. I wonder if it wasn't so much his height, as his weight.

Don't wear a yellow rain slicker to Haunt, either. I was not confronted or tailed, but got stopped a few times by people wanting things.
-
And quickly, too. Since I had no clothes, I was a little embarrassed to make a report in my bathing suit, but was told to get my new pass as soon as possible.

I have memories of my first trip to KI, and the HB kiddy part. The street lights were flowers, and the benches had the characters faces on them, the rides were geared to the characters. That was great theming. I still have the mental picture of my visit.

The new lockers were sold out? Ptoo. I thought they added more.
-
Lack of money. Last year I had a small emergency that cost me my vacation dough. I used whatever oppurtunity I could to get to Ki. This year, a client gifted me two passes, and barring another money drain, I'm going to use them enough to make up for last year.
-
Well, I ain't gonna play Soak City, that's for sure. If even a pair of sandals gets swiped, it's not worth my time to go, even with all the fancy new expensive lockers.
-
I'm not anything to squeal and tweet home about, believe me.
-
I'm so sorry. I know you feel gutted. There are some miserable people in the world. The security had me go over to the main gate straight away and get a replacement for my season pass after my things were stolen, hopefully they did the same for you.

I wouldn't think about wearing just a bikini top. One weird whip of the wind and one is undone.

This is a great question! My first thought was the Eiffel Tower, too, but too be honest, I would be too spooked. I think I'd go with the party pavilion they have set up for Dino Birthday parties, covered in case of rain, but I could still see all around me.

About a year back, the Haunt had some fights break out, I wrote about it in a post. It was a slow night, only one ghoul, and I'm talking fights where one girl repeatedly smacked her phone against another girl's head. I'd say about three fights broke out, I chalked it up to being during the Haunt, but this year, I saw no such problems.
