King Cobra but longer than it was... it's just a classic ride and worth the wait in the line!

I never would have told you to do anything with your shirt... it doesn't sound like it would be a problem at all! *sigh* We can't catch everything, but we do our best... of course it almost sounds anal that we made you turn your shirt inside out (or change into another one).

I'm not really a shooter, Dane, but I have been wanting to get into it. One of these days I will make my way to a shooting range.

Pretty hard to do for must people, interesting to see though!

DZ is awsome! The first time I rode it was at night and the fireworks were going off as we reached the top. I was watching the fireworks when we dropped, what a feeling! The ride up is the hardest part for me, and staying up there for any length of time... I HATE heights! The drop down is the best though!

I was in the park today for just a few minutes to change some of my shifts and decided to ride SDATHC! I loved it! I got a score of 2010 on my first ride!!!! The ride line was very short... and it only took 10 minutes to get on, if even that! I jumped once in the ride too, when it looked like a bookcase was going to fall on me...

Schools will probably not be there next week, but the public will be. Most of the area schools don't get out for the summer till the first week of June, or the second, and I'm sure we will see our fair share of those kids. Of course, a lot of vacations and parties and things happen in those first two weeks as well...

There is another thread about this topic, go find it! The big thing this year is that FF is included with a season pass, no extra charge. The times are set, look at the calendar for the park, I belive it is on this site, but you can get it from pki.com.

oops! I work all weekend, so it all runs together! Then switch what I said around about Sunday, if the weather is good then we will have normal crowds... also on Saturday we are starting early by about an hour! I think there is something going on Saturday morning... breakfast with the Characters I think for the first 1000 GP holders? Can anyone confirm that?
-
I feel so left out! I won't get a chance to ride anything till June 10th!
-
You want to go this weekend? The 1st and 2nd of June? The 1st is sold out, not open to the public. I belive that Wright Patterson AFB is going to be in the park that day... as of the 2nd, it would be a normal Sunday, meaning if there is no rain we will have a decent crowd and lines about 1 to 1.5 hours long.

I could have sworn I saw some in the paint shop over the winter... oh well, I could be mistaken.

It could have been a modified carriage for the commercial so that you could see the people's faces better. We do have some of those carriages.

Hey Dane, do me a favor and let the ride op know about that stuff if you see it again... guests are not allowed to have any beer away from a patio where they bought it! Security makes them throw it away, walk them to the closest patio with beer or chug it in front of them. Not only was he not allowed to have the beer, but he was line jumping getting back in line after leaving. I finally got some feedback on what we would do about recording while on the rides: No cameras/camcorders or other recording devices are allowed on any of the rides at PKI unless the guest has express permission from the marketing department and is escourted by either Security, marketing or both. If a guest is caught with a camera/camcorder or other recording device on a ride, they will recieve a verbal warning. If caught again, different measures will be taken.

I always wondered about the beer in WW. All they need is a drunk guy drowning to get rid of it!

Someone mentioned the bikini tops... the park rule states that shoes, shirts and shorts are required in the park at all times. I asked about enforcing this rule with girls wearing bikini tops and I was told that they are okay. I don't consider a bikin top a shirt, but I guess the park does. If anyone agrees that the binkini tops should not be worn in the theme park, my suggestion is to go to GR under the front gate and make it a suggestion, and put it writing as well. The more complaints they get about it, maybe they will actually enforce that rule. We do have signs up in most of the lines for no smoking, and it is a written rule. I also try to remind people at the morning ropes that they are not allowed to smoke in the lines. I will ask when Delrium is getting its no smoking signs... If I remember correctly it took almost half the season last year before TR:TR got its signs. Smoking in Waterworks is a huge NO. This is because guests can walk around without shoes and if they step on a cigarette it would cause a lot of problems. IMO they should make HB/Nick a no smoking area... at least Nick b/c of the water maze and the kids not wearing shoes. Guests aren't allowed to smoke in the Nick theater either and I'm sure the charaters hate it when a parent is smoking and comes up to them, not only would it hurt the person inside, but also the outfit. I'm not saying make the entire park no smoking, but just HB/Nick.

Ahhh! We need to talk with Jeff about the TR:TR footage! He should know when it is going to air!

I hope I didn't miss a post about that metal detection! I will talk with the sups about that very serious issue. I'm glad that you talked with one of the people at the metal detetors about it and I am sorry that we missed them. Just FYI: if something like that happens again, try to get a hold of Security in the yellow jackets or white shirts, they are the sups. If the Park Police or even Mason are up there, let them know. Sometimes we use other park employees from games, rides, resale, who are trained in the detetors but I don't know if they would be willing to chase after a gust for that like a Security officer would. Again, I will let the sups know about it.

coasterdime, I guess I sounded more agressive than I thought. Some guests need the obvious pointed out, some don't. In your last post you said that you "wished PKI would train some of the people that can commit more time to the park to actually run the rides". The problem with that is that the park needs people willing to work the rides. They recurite and they do their best to put people in all departments, but the people applying have to be willing to work rides. Seriously, If you have some spare time, you can work part time at the park in rides... just go apply! The park is always looking for good people to work!
-
The problem with the rides is that the employees have to be trained for the rides rather extensivly. You can't just take a game person and have them check the lap bars. It might seem like an easy job, but that would be a very risky move by the park to do so. That is why our volunteers are not allowed to help with the rides.

It was a boring day that day... everyone behaved! THANKS! It's a good thing when I get bored, it means everyone is doing what they are supposed to do and not causing problems. Keep it up!

I did post this somewhere else, but here's a shorter version: Smoking is not allowed in the lines and Security tries to walk the exits (or the new fast pass lines) to check them ques for smokers. We do ask that they put it out, but we can not do much more than that unless the guests gives us problems. Ejection is not something we do lightly at the park, and a smoker would not get ejection. As of the shirts, anything that the park deems obsene, like some words and pictures, we will ask the guests to turn their shirts inside out. Also, if a guest complains about someone's shrit, we will ask that person to turn their shirt inside out. Failure to comply and the guest can be asked to leave, but not ejected. There is a big difference between being asked to leave and being ejected.

The 23rd was a bad time for the rides b/c most of the employees are still in school and can not work. It was advertised (as much as people say it wasn't) that we would have limited rides open that day. GR was flooded with complaints, even from pass holders. I found that odd b/c a pass holder can just come back another day. Oh well. The rides that were closed did open by 6pm, leaving a good 4 hours to ride them. The "big kids", 54" and up, should have had a good time b/c they can ride everything in the park and all the major coasters were opened. The small flat rides were closed and so was most of HB/Nick. Parents with little kids really got bad and let GR have it.

We'll see what happens on my birthday, if you remember I was the one that wanted PKI to be dry! It's going to be a long weekend, and I will be off work that entire weekend, so lots of time to recover! I have heard that the hype dies down after a while... I mean after 21 you really have nothing to look forward to till 30... then 40... God, I'm getting old!

Sounds like fun, hopefully I will be able to make it over... I turn 21 ( ) on the 6th and I have two cousins graduating HS on the 7th, it'll be a busy day, not to mention a busy weekend!
