Let me clerify something: In park security will be just as tight as it has been in the past. The article is talking about Mason police, not the Park Police or security.

I have a tendency to hang on to my glasses in my hand or put them in a pocket (gotta love the flex frames!) or wear them. I haven't had them fall off once on TR. Then again, I would hate to lose them but I still don't think I would trust the pouch... I tend to kick at it when dangling upside down.

If you listen to the commercials for Grad Night it says that it's for grads and their guests. I will have to double check if you have to have a valid school ID to get a ticket or not at the door. Employees don't have to have a ticket, they can get in through Post 3 (Grad or no Grad).

Thank God they put those pouches in last year! We had so many people lose things on that ride that fell out of the old pouches. Why in the world they didn't start out with a zipper pouch is beyond me and why people would need to use them is also a mystery b/c they aren't supposed to bring things on the ride to begin with!

Actually, a person that defaces park property can be ejected from the park for the rest of that day to forever and could be charged with vandalism. It depends on witnesses, and type of destruction. I try to walk through FoF when I am around it...I even go into space ship to check things out (if the line is that long). I always try to keep my eyes opened at FoF and everywhere else in the park.

Good luck Mr. Mandt! Maybe he can tell me if our employee IDs will work at ST:TE? I have heard that they won't, and if that is the case why not?!
-
I'm sure it's been known on the inside, it's just that the park itself has never officially announced it.

Kings Island is not mentioning anything official about Weird Al. However, I did hear some managment people talking about how they wanted to get tickets for it when he came. When I asked some people about Weird Al's concert (guest relations, marketing, entertainment) no one knew anything about it. Some people did say that it would be strange if he came back b/c he only sold like 300 tickets the last time he was at the park. I wasn't there so I can't be sure on that. Like I said before, if he is coming to the park, I will do my best to work that day (b/c I can get backstage if I do!) so I can enjoy the concert! If you do go I should be in the pit somewhere, or on one of the sides watching the gates to backstage.

Actually I belive that the dorms are used only for International students and no one else. I could be wrong though. It's not that great actually, the dorms at UC really suck (excpet for the new hall) and you have to ride metro to and from the park, so you better not miss the bus. Oh, and as for Oscars... the food is the same as the park, nothing really exciting about it. We don't get it dirt cheap either, just at-cost.

PKI_Rulz is right about security, it will be pretty tight at Grad Night. What helps this year is the metal detectors, we used to do that under the front gate after the guests had entered the park. Hopefully having the metal dectors will cut down on some problems, but if everyone behaves themselves we can all have an enjoyable evening!

Weird Al has already played at the park... I think. If he does come back I will make sure to work Timberwolf that day. I heard that Spears was really nasty when she was there and won't be asked back... I don't think she would be interested in coming to something as small as Timberwolf anyway.

All the new cakes and pies at the French Bakery are wonderful! They are well worth the lines (if any) and the price isn't that bad.

Like I said in the Giga forum, KI should build one. Of course, they also need to expand on the child rides and create more shows. I think guests would love to relax in the air conditioning of PT if they have a great show worth watching. Maybe more shows than just Slime Time Live? I mean, Nick has a great selection of shows geared to the family, why not bring some to the park? Something like Double Dare (I know, a little old but still fun!) would work great, it gets not only the kids but also the parents involved. Heck, the park could video tape it and sell the tape! I LOVE Star Trek and would love to see a ST themed ride. Anything would be great, even if it would be something in FXT. A coaster would be hard to theme unless it was something inside like FoF (they could retheme FoF of course! )

A little off topic but someone asked about the price of water... water glass of ice water (or just water) is free in the park if you ask for it. Why pay for a bottled water (somewhere around 2.50 I think) when you can have water for free?

I want to know when they will take over Oscars!

I think this has gone on long enough and the topic should be closed.

Timberwolf does need some repair. New benches would be great. It couldn't hurt to help the stage out a little either. You would think that Paramount (owned by Viacom, which owns MTV, VH1, CMT, ext) would have some great acts coming in. The only act I know of this year is Spirit Song. I haven't seen or heard of anyone else. Oh, my one complaint about Sprit Song is that the fine "Christian" people that were there really had bad mouths. I do my job by asking people not to video tape the concerts, not to use professional cameras and to not stand on the benches and I got nothing but cursed out and called a Nazis my about 90% of the people I had to approach.

Skion, I will check tomorrow to see if any of the security people told guests to leave. We can't do anything about it now, but they should not have told you to leave the park. During the incident the front gate was shut down and guests were told to leave through the employee entrance/exit (not HBL to the best of my knowledge). They can't let any one into the park through the employee entrance/exit because there is just no way to check for hand stamps, scan tickets, etc. They were holding people back from getting into the park until the incident at the front gate was finished for the guest's safety. Like beastfreak said, I am sorry for the inconvience and any miscommunication. The rest of the season is in front of us and I hope you come back and enjoy the park.

There really aren't any good "sit down" dinning areas in the park for kids. Wings and Festahus are as close as you are going to get. Subway is now in the park, next to Racer in Coney Mall. You can sit out on the patio and eat. It is supposed to rain this weekend, though... so Wings or Festahus might be best.

Saturday and Sunday will probably not be busy. Friday will be busy. It's supposed to be great weather on Friday but rain all day Saturday and Sunday. The rides will still operate during rain as long as it's not very heavy and there is no lightning in the area. I don't think they are expecting sever weather. Cincy Weather for this weekend June 6th is my (21st!) birthday. I am glad I won't be working that day... or that weekend for that matter...

BAFFDs are NOT GOOD DAYS TO BE IN THE PARK! Man, last year was a nightmare! Traffic was backed up 741 and 71! It was nasty. You couldn't wiggle in the park, lines were 3 hours long or more. The food lines were always packed, it was just a bad day (from a customer point of view at least). Like teenageninja said, weekdays in the summer are the best times to go. Weekends and Friday nights are always busy... well, except for opening weekend... what a disapointment!

There was a death at the tower. The story of how he died changes a lot and I am still not sure what the true story is. Browse the rumors for ghost stories about the park.
-
The lion tammer guy, the kid at the Tower, the two guys in Oktoberfest lake, the lady from Flight Commander. That's five and that's it. Like Tanner said, how many don't die?

Alright, time for my two cents... The park was anticipating high attendance, although I don't think anyone expected as many as we got. There aren't that many "free" tickets out in the world like some people are trying to make it sound. Yes, employees did get 4 free tickets to give out, however, not all employees got them. Radio stations did not receive hundreds of tickets. only a few stations received a hand full of tickets to give out. The majority of the people in the park on Friday were pass holders. If you guys have a complaint that is what Guest Relations is for. No one here wants to hear you complain about how busy the park is. If your complaining now, then have the common sense to not stop by the park on Bring a Friend Free Day, big concert days, holiday weekends, or any weekend for that matter. The lines might be too long for you. Oh, and those with a Gold Pass let me remind you: YOU DON'T OWN THE PARK.

Where are you at while Sharky's is closed?
