  1. Um... lockout areas are surrounded by fences and have signs posted all over them. No wonder we kick them out of the park for a year or more and can prosecute them.
  2. I'm not sure what they will charge for admission to Fear Fest, odds are it will be the same as last year, which if I remember correctly was a cheaper price than normal admission.
  3. I would HATE Jackass to be filmed at PKI! Man, we have enough Jackasses around the park... I mean, who really dives into Rivertown's lake after a basketball only to get soaked from the neck down? Who is dumb enough to go into a lockout area of a ride to get a hate? Man... people are stupid enough, I don't need to deal with people getting more ideas from Jackass!
  4. Fear Fest is NOT an extra charge this year, season passes will work to get into Fear Fest.
  5. I'm sure one of the employees will ask tomorrow what is going on with the Free Fearfest admission. It sounds like it will just be a normal day where you can show your pass and get in without buying an extra ticket. FF in the past few years has been very dead and not worth the time open, so they might have changed the days and times around a little. I'll try to post late tomorrow afternoon or early evening with an update.
  6. I tell you what, I hate it when it is humid in the park. Not only is it very uncomfortable to breath, but our uniforms are 100% polyester! Now THAT is uncomfortable! Hopefully it won't rain this weekend, we'll see. They have been saying it will, and then saying it won't till Monday. Aren't we opened Monday anyway? Oh well, I'm only working weekends till June anyway! I hope all the employees know what to do in really bad weather. Ask a sup if you don't know where to go or where to direct guests.
  7. Hmm... for some reason I can't see PKI selling thongs... they aren't allowed to wear them in WW, and it's really not the right thing to be selling to young girls (the major buyers from Girl Space).
  8. I like the idea of a cartoon PKI, that would be great! The Rugrats would be awsome in it... and the Thornberrys would be pretty cool too for it, since we have The Beast! Of course, they could just make a live action film for the R.L. Stein books about The Beast. Has anyone read them? I really do need to go buy them and read them, just for the heck of it. We have plenty of things that could be filmed at PKI, I mean Paramount itself owns a lot of things, but so does Viacom, our parent company. All it would take is some persuasive letter writing to a producer of a show to see what happens. Maybe even Jeff involved?
  9. I guess you wouldn't call the spitting rain that we did have rain... just sprinkles.
  10. Now how cool is that? Glad you like the forums and the site. I read part of the book in the Rock Shop while I was working (shh... don't tell anyone!) and decided I had to buy it. Hopefully I will get a chance to do that soon. You do need to do another signing... I missed the first one, I wanted to meet you!
  11. Geezs... we had complaints from parents that rides weren't open that their kids could ride (most of the small flats in Coney and HB/Nick) b/c of the limited rides open that day for the Math and Science stuff. The schools got a list of rides that would be open, and I belive it was posted on the site and they got a list of open rides at the gate. Why bring a little kid there anyway on math and science day unless they were with a school? You really can't complain if all you were doing is getting your pass b/c it was advertised and on the marque outside. Besides, if you got a pass you can always come back another day. I think people just like to complain b/c they think they will get something free from the park. Tough luck, the park rarely gives anything away. Other than that, it was a very long day and at least nothing happened... everyone behaved themselves for the most part.
  12. Not that I want to get into a race issue, but here is something I found interesting written by John Wayne: The Hyphen, Webster's Dictionary defines, Is a symbol used to divide a compound word or a single word. So it seems to me that when a man calls himself An "Afro-American," a "Mexican-American," "Italian-American," An "Irish-American," "Jewish-American," What he's sayin' is, "I'm a divided American." That is only part of the poem, go to this site to read the rest of it. It's really good.
  13. Good idea, you missed a great opertunity to do that though... they finished their training today. You'll have to wait till we open WW next week.
  14. Well, as for Delirium, from what I understand, the 6'4" limit is b/c of the lights that they put up over the sign and the tree in front of the ride. Heck, if that was the case, get rid of them and your fine. I highly doubt that someone that tall would be able to hit the legs of the rides, they are extended too far out of the gondola that you wouldn't hit them. I'm glad you guys are pleased about Security we do our best! I left that night at 6:30 (yeah!) so I wasn't there. Line jumping is a really big thing in the park and we do our best to handle it. Sometimes it can get out of hand, with people not cooperating, and other times it can be pointless to try and do anything b/c no guests can not point to a person and say "they did it". I take it very seriously, I don't care if they left the line to get a drink, go to the bathroom, smoke or anything else, I will not let them back in. I also don't let people jump in line to get with their group... if they wanted to ride a ride with them that much, they would have waited in line with them.
  15. Okay, how 'bout PKI's bloopers? That would be interesting... starting off with RoY's footage!
  16. Hmm... any good artist will compromise dance to really sing. Too many people and artists are worried about image and show, all the dazle, and not to the art of singing itself.
  17. Here's a project for you... create a commercial for PKI and see if they will buy it from you! Well, at least we could post them on the site or something.
  18. I just think that the lights have a more romantic feel and really added something to the park overall. Maybe one day they will bring them back? It would be nice if they could do a Winterfest as well, as least for a week or two, with ice skating, Santa, the works. Then again, which of the seasonal employees would want to work during their time off? Would anyone actually go to Winterfest if they brought it back? I mean, it would have to compete against the Zoo, the malls...
  19. watch out for moonbeam... trying to throw us off by saying something about games in another forum! Maybe this forum would get more interest back to Jessica Simpson if she releases another album... or plays in Timberwolf!
  20. I can imagine... they do keep the A.C. people entertained when they are slow.
  21. Now, it's just an idea, but I think moonbeam is Murphy
  22. Hmm... one more thought... There are thousands of Gold Passes out in the public right now. Even a night for just Gold Pass holders can be very, very busy with long lines. Now, like I said before, they might close part of the park down, or they will just keep it all open and the kids leave at 6. Edit: No need to shout.
  23. I don't think some of the goings ons in the PT ride was "romantic". "Dirty" would be a good word for some of it. People love the dark rides... I really don't miss PT... but I never really rode it that much anyway. It was a ride I would ride to get out of the sun and relax a little on. In fact, I remember falling asleep in it once. I still haven't riden SDATHC, I haven't ridden anything this year, so maybe I will have a different opinion about that.
  24. Belive me, RiotGrl, it's not a hassle to close and reopen the park. We have done it before and it's a way to keep the two events seperate. As of Gold Pass... it's bull that you paided a premium last fall, it's the same price then as it is now till the 18th - and the Gold pass upgrade was FREE! I am sick and tired of Gold Pass holders thinking that they own the park. That's bull. The park owes you nothing. There are perks in the gold pass to get people to buy it, it's a big marketing scheme that seems to work pretty darned well. It gets people into the park and it makes them spend money in the park. Geezs. It's A PRIVLAGE TO HAVE A GOLD PASS. ALL THE PERKS ARE PRIVLAGES THAT CAN BE TAKEN AWAY, RESCHEDULED, REMOVED, REPLACED OR WHATEVER. Read the fine print on all of the paper work.
  25. Well, he's just an overall nice guy, moonbeam
