wow..... thanks for the Root Beer info. hahaha I guess SOMEONE has been slipping me some caffeine. hahaha Bargs has about 23% Mug has 0% A&W has 0% If I drink any at home it's usually Mug or A&W, but I haven't had any Root Beer for over 6 months now so I'm good. I'll make sure to stay away from Bargs I'll just settle for a cup of water.
-
Thanks for the correction... Jello has been removed from the menu Sprite is also caffeine free and widely available - as is the fruit punch if you don't mind the sugar high. I forgot to mention I can't stand the taste of Sprite. It's like drinking carbonated water. Also, I don't like to drink the fruit punch drinks cause of the artificial coloring. Root Beer even is very nasty if you let it get warm, but as long as it's cold with ice it's sufficient. My first options would be fruit juices like orange juice or apple juice, but I don't like getting those tiny little juice boxes and paying a high price for them.

I know it's not a coaster, but that's what the media called it. I guess when they realized the 4th coaster comment was a typo, that's what they went with. I'm guessing the real 4th coaster was Scooby's Ghoster Coaster that was removed in 2005 see all coasters Kings Island ever had here http://www.rcdb.com/4540.htm

yeah I know... Food Items are listed under "Rides & Attractions" Well, I guess people are attracted to food, but still I wouldn't refer to food as an attraction.
-
On the news about a week ago or so... they announced the 4th coaster in Planet Snoopy. They said it was the water log ride! "Run For Your Life Charlie Brown"
-
I never felt like Paramount did anything. They just bought the park and then ran around putting movie names on stuff. They did get that cool theater between The Racers, and Flight of Fear, but other than this they didn't do anything great. CedarFair on the other hand has delivered. We got Firehawk and Diamondback

I can do it.... cause I think different than most people... Everyone that says it can't be done already has a picture in their mind of what they THINK is needed, and this is where everyone goes wrong. OK.... plain and simple the cost is $1.00 a watt the rest of the cost would be for building them and installing them. Which is not much. Space could be over the entire parking lot which would offer shade for vehicles from the sun, and on the frames of the coasters, and roof tops of all the buildings. It doesn't have to be sunny all the time. The solar systems collect electricity and store it, so figuring out the most time needed between power storage is the first step. The technology now is very advanced. They even discovered how to make plastic and paints that collect solar power. Solar Panels now make twice as much power in half the size they used to in 2008.
-
True.... and especially not on a weekend when they are crowded. I guess I would have to wait till during the week when they aren't busy so I could reason with them and pay a dollar for their trouble. After all, veggies are costly and if everyone did this without paying anything then they would be out of veggies.
-
yeah, that 50's Diner is still there across from Shake Rattle And Roll and Vortex. I just didn't list it cause they only had all meat products on their menu, and none of the condiments were specified. When I visit the park, I'll be sure to check them out in person and see what I can list from them though. With them being themed as a 50's Diner, I was very disappointed they never had any milk shakes.
-
ok, this is sad.... The cheapest and best place I knew of was torn down a few years ago to build a storage rental business. Well, I hope the storage rental business goes out of business. They destroyed a place for travelers to sleep. I'll keep looking

no no no no noooooooooooooooooooooooooo Don't search for Hotel Search For Motel Motels are built like the building in the movie Psycho. When I travel I always stay in these and they are dirt cheap. Usually $20 - $35 dollars a night and includes full kitchen, full restroom, t.v. and one or two beds. Also, they don't mind how many people are staying, so they just charge for the room. I'll do some searching for you and see what I can find.

I gave up caffeine about two years ago. Doesn't leave much for me to drink but I know all Root Beer is caffeine free. They do serve Root Beer in the park, but only at about half the places they sell drinks at. There's always something to eat or drink no matter what it is you need, you just have to know what you are looking for and where to look. Let's take their pizza for example. Just because they only serve Cheese for us Vegetarians doesn't mean this is how I have to eat it. I could very easily walk on over to Rivertown Junction Dining Hall located in Rivertown and snag some "Green Peppers, and Banana Peppers" from their salad bar. Then walk over to Larosa's Pizzeria located in Rivertown and ask they make me a whole Cheese Pizza with the "Green Peppers, and Banana Peppers" added (at no extra charge)! Just think of reality as a game, it's a puzzle waiting to be figured out. All you have to do is put all the pieces together.
-
No Same with their Subway in the park, no Veggie Garden Patties either. As for the Candy Apples, I remember them in the park also, but they were not on the menu anywhere. Perhaps they were only during The Haunt.
-
No... it wasn't a joke. Actually I know how to build and install solar systems, and the idea it costs too much is just from fear of not knowing anything about it. If I knew how much power they used on a daily basis, and on a weekly basis, and then on a monthly basis, I could even give an exact estimate of what it would cost because then I would know how much electricity they need to produce and how much they need to use. I can already tell you it would be less than one million to convert the entire park to free electricity, and a new ride each year usually costs about 20 million, so yes it can and should be done.
-
I should let you all know something..... When I put this list together I found many typos on the visitkingsisland web site for their food listings, and seeing how Nickelodeon was still listed, and the new pretzel shop on International Street is still not listed, I don't know how accurate any of this is. CoastersRZ may be right, this whole menu may change after April. If anyone notices any changes to the food options before I do, post here and I'll update the menu when I can. oh, I know this food isn't healthy, I know it's expensive, I know most will be eating in their cars, but it's just so nice to know what all the options are and where they are without running all over the park asking everyone. I used to complain about all the high prices in the park, and the cost for admission, but after knowing how much Diamondback cost, and all the other rides. I don't mind any more because I know where the money is going and I want more rides and if more rides means higher prices then so be it, it's worth it to me and I love to show my support. My advice, buy a whole pizza cause it's cheaper than buying by the slice.
-
Going Solar and converting the whole park to free electricity is another option.

Not what I was thinking though. Imagine riding Kings Island's Vortex... you get pulled up the first hill, then the cart does a roll at the top of the hill, then you are riding it under the track instead of on top of it, and you are seated so you're completely upside-down. I only used Vortex as an example because this is the seating position I'm thinking of, only upside-down. Never Done Before, EVER!!! The biggest problems I would see with doing something like this is the head would be hanging and exposed so the cart design would have to be made extra safe to protect the head in the rare case it came off the track and landed on the ground below. Another concern I would see is all the weight being put on the restraints (more than other coasters) because of the shoulders. My biggest fear is being upside-down, but I would probably ride it if it was built! One advantage to a ride like this is it wouldn't have to be very high off the ground to scare the **** out of people.
-
I have another idea.......... What about a roller coaster you ride upside-down, then when you go through a loop you are right-side-up for only a second. This would have to turn right-side-up for the break areas though, cause if it ever broke down there's no way I want to be stuck upside-down. Being upside-down gives the illusion you are billions of feet high or suspended over a bottomless pit of nothingness! And no one will pass out cause all the blood will rush to their heads. Talk about FEAR, this Would BE IT!!! The only questions are... Can it be done and would it be safe?

I really like everyone's ideas. So far the best idea I think would be cartoon characters from cereal boxes I would soooooo love to see a Captain Crunch ride The haunted castle could then be Count Chocula themed and even better, they would all be General Mills, which has a production plant not far from Kings Island. Since Kings Island already sells White Milk in most places, they could then sell the little boxes of cereal also. This would also help the milk sales. And General Mills also makes the Veggie Garden Patties for Subway, and there is a Subway in the park also! So this means the Subway in the park would possibly add the veggie Garden Pattie to their menu. ------------------------------------- But like I said, everyone's ideas here are good. I like the video game idea! Possibly have a "Sony Playstation" for the kids area. I would also like to add (Cartoon Network) Power Puff Girls, Dexter's Labratory, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Cow And Chicken, and many of their other famous cartoons. As much as people love the "Peanut Characters", they simply no longer appeal to children and every time I see Snoopy I feel like someone is trying to sell me insurance. The only thing worse than Snoopy would be rides themed to the "Michelin, Tire Guy", "Mr Clean, Floor Cleaner", "The General, Car Insurance" and other unappealing cartoons in commercials that appeal to only adults. but an entire year has already been sacrificed for Planet Snoopy so I say we keep Planet Snoopy at least till 2012. hmmm *thinks to self* Why do I get the feeling someone is going to be walking around the park in a Snoopy Outfit telling park guests "Get Met, It Pays"?
-
In the 90's someone at KI told me Skylab was removed from the park because it came off it's axis and rolled through Oktoberfest and hit the Eiffel Tower. This could have been true, but most likely not. I heard this a few years before internet was invented.

(Rice Krispie Treats are made with Marshmallows) ---------------- REMINDER: Everything in the world is done in baby steps. The first step is just to simply stop eating meat. Regardless of what happens to cows during or after milk and cheese production, they simply would never be killed if no one ate meat. Some will say that if no one ate meat at all and people consumed more milk and cheese then this would enslave the animals, but that's another story for another generation. Right now our only concern should be to stop the slaughter houses, because we shouldn't argue over spilt milk until we first stop all the spilt blood! Animals Lay eggs and give milk without dying! Once again I'll emphasize everything is done in baby steps. Just as you would not skip to the last page of a book before reading it, you should have a list of priorities of which order can obtain a goal, else the order, direction, and focus is broken and all you'll be left with is chaos!

Yeah, I think so.... I was just looking at that info...... I hope it's better, but hard to say till I give it a try.

Phantom Theater Here's the ride! Before it was closed 2 years later, they tried to deny adults on the ride unless they had kids with them. Sad, I remember when it first opened it was all adults standing in like an hour long line just to ride it. Why should only kids have all the fun? The Scooby-Doo Haunted Castle sucks! This is why the wait for it is always so short. Well, before these it was The Smurf Enchanted Voyage Ride with slowly floating water boats. Then even further back, just called Enchanted Voyage. I hope it goes back to Phantom Theater again! or something better than Scooby-Doo
-
I've been waiting for a coaster like "X" at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California to come to Kings Island. At the moment X is the only one and it's on the west coast. If Kings Island got one, it would be the only one on the east coast. Or maybe a coaster/water ride! I always thought it would be cool to get shot at with water while riding a coaster. Maybe even ride through walls of water! Just an idea. Sure water rides get you really wet, but what other than a coaster could do it at really high speeds so you feel the wind at the same time!
-
I voted yes they should add more modern effects and "better" new scenery! This is only because the only effect that really needs restored is the arrows moving back and forth in the first tunnel, and I feel this ride needs much more than what it had to begin with. I rode this many times the first year it opened so I remember. I agree this is the best mine cart ride ever cause it does have tunnels! This is a plus! However, you can see the tunnels are plywood before you go into them, so I would like: 1. the tunnels to be much longer, probably enclose the whole thing into a tunnel, especially the first lift hill so it feels like you are barreling down an old mine shaft. 2. The long turn section of track with the totem pillar beam things it goes through, this should be one giant room with some huge effects in the center that you can watch as you make your way around it. 3. When going into a tunnel, the plywood should be hidden by earth. Make a pile of dirt on both sides of the tunnel entrances to hide it's plywood. Seeing it's plywood somehow ruins it for me. When the ride first opened, it left me with a feeling the ride was never completed or only half the effort was put into making it. 4. The fog is great! So are the forest sounds! Keep these at the beginning for sure! When the ride was first made, it had a real forest feel to it, but after Flight of Fear was built and then Son of Beast, it took that feeling away from it because they are so close to it. So I think making it all enclosed would be best and make it better. The stone guys at the end, everyone I ever rode this ride with says they love them, but I feel it could be made much scarier if replaced with something else. This would be the last thing I would change though, and it's fine either way, changed or not. I loved the Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade music that used to play. If you can't play this music anymore, IDK. The music or sounds should be themed though, so no radio music. -------------- A REALLY FAR FETCHED IDEA..... for Adventure Express I had a cool idea back when this ride opened, that there should be two or three coasters in one. !!!AND THIS WOULD BE THE FIRST COASTER TO EVER DO THIS!!! After the train leaves the station it goes into a dark tunnel and stops, the track is switched then lets the train go on one track. Then the next train leaves the station and goes into a dark tunnel and stops, the track is switched again, then the train goes down another track. Since the ride is hidden, what better way to thrill people but to surprise them after riding it a few times that the ride changes sometimes! It would set another record as the first coaster to be two rides in one, never knowing which track the cart will take!!! This is just a wild far fetched idea. I would very much like to see it happen, but I realize it may not be possible with Adventure Express seeing how it's already built and has limited land space. -------------- Ok these were my thoughts..... I hope they help
