(btw, I was referring to the cams that take your picture while on a ride. I would not suggest it for any other cameras.) So....... by "Family Park" you mean sell Alcohol to parents in the park to support Child Abuse? Alcohol + Parents = Child Abuse but.... by societies terms, Alcohol is a family thing. We shouldn't argue our views, I was just making a point! Words such as "Obscene, Offending, and Indecent" are "Control Words". Words used to mean whatever the user of the words want them to mean at any given time when they want to suppress people according to their own personal feelings and views. Much like the Nazi Police of Germany or the Thought Police from the book "1984". The people and businesses spreading these kind of laws do so in chain reaction out of fear and hate while they help to create more hate and fear by placing laws against love and freedom, usually putting profit before people and making the people think and act like robots. Why is it America has Freedom of Religion which is based on ones right to personal beliefs, but then the second someone does not conform or fit in with the mold of society they are judged, tormented, and crucified for having feelings, being able to think, and doing something out side the norm to help break the mold of this endless chain reaction of fear and hate that everyone is trapped in? So the question is "What is really considered Family and would you choose which groups of people deserve to be in the park more than others?" If a stranger came up to you and wanted to give you a hug, would you let them? Most of us are so unaware of our mental defenses until we are caught off guard to give a spontaneous emotional response. Once you learn to see the truth in all things, your fear and hate will vanish. Then you will no longer reflect the fear and hate of others, but stand honest and true so they may know the way. Besides.... A first kiss in an amusement park is very common. Most dating sites rate amusement parks as one of the top ten places to take a date. I even heard someone later this year was going to be married at Kings Island.

This should have been said in the first reply post. Boo Blasters!!! YES!!!!! The idea of a kiss on a ride, is it must be a ride that does nothing while leaving you free to move around while giving you lots of privacy, and leave them trapped with you for a few minutes. Some advice about kissing.... Never ask if you can kiss them! Just remember the song from the "Little Mermaid" and go on and kiss her. You'll know if she wants to be kissed if you touch her hand, shoulder, arm, or leg, and she is comfortable with it. Don't worry about if the camera sees anything. The pictures they take and then post outside to the public are censored every time people flash the cameras. The people that do it never get in trouble. Last time I rode The Beast, a girl sitting a few seats from me lifted up her shirt with no bra on and flashed the camera. When I got off the ride, the monitor showing the picture of the seat where she was sitting was missing and instead was replaced by a big red X with the word "CENSORED" over it! Everyone getting off the coaster was laughing so hard when they saw it.

1. Watch how the coasters drop before getting on them. The front seat always has the shortest drop time and always has the least amount of force. 2. Ride coasters based on your least amount of fear. Coasters In Order By Height ----------------------------------------------------- 8 Feet High - The Great Pumpkin Coaster 38 Feet High - Woodstock Express 45 Feet High - Backlot Stunt Coaster 52 Feet High - Flying Ace 63 Feet High - Adventure Express 74 Feet High - Flight of Fear 88 Feet High - The Racer 98 Feet High - Flight Deck 110 Feet High - The Beast 115 Feet High - Firehawk 148 Feet High - Vortex 161 Feet High - Invertigo 230 Feet High - Diamondback ___________________________________ Coasters In Order By Speed ----------------------------------------------------- 5 mph - The Great Pumpkin Coaster 25 mph - Flying Ace 35 mph - Woodstock Express 35 mph - Adventure Express 40 mph - Backlot Stunt Coaster 51 mph - Flight Deck 51 mph - Firehawk 53 mph - The Racer 54 mph - Flight of Fear 55 mph - Vortex 55 mph - Invertigo 64 mph - The Beast 80 mph - Diamondback ___________________________________ Coasters In Order By Fear ----------------------------------------------------- For Toddlers - The Great Pumpkin Coaster As High As A House - Woodstock Express Suspended Seats - Flying Ace Tunnels - Adventure Express Fast - Backlot Stunt Coaster Suspended Carts - Flight Deck As High As Two Houses - The Racer As High As Three Houses - The Beast Goes Upside Down - Vortex Very High And Very Fast - Diamondback In Complete Dark - Flight of Fear Suspended By Harness - Firehawk Will Make You Pass Out - Invertigo when on a coaster........ 3. Relax all muscles in your body, take deep slow breathes in and out, and with eyes open, think of free falling from an airplane. Let your body fall, go with the feeling. 4. If you are afraid to look, look at your feet because closing your eyes will make it much worse. 5. Make sure the restraints are as tight as you can get them, the less you move in your seat, the better the experience. 6. Panic anxiety will get to you, but don't fight it or resist it, go with it! Instead of thinking "I don't want to go where the track is taking me", change your frame of mind so your imagination runs wild and you think "weeeeeeee, I'm flying in a space ship"! Of course this works best if in the front seat. 7. Though the park riding restrictions are based on height, if your shoulders do not reach the should restraints or can fit between them, you are in for the ultimate horror nightmare experience of your life, and for the lap bars, if your legs are small, you will feel partially pulled out of the seats, and weighing less than an adult, you will feel twice as much force as an adult would feel while riding. So if you are small, waiting a few years to grow more is not a bad idea. 8. Understand G-Forces. G stands for gravity. A positive G-Force will push you into the seat. A negative G-Force will pull you out of the seat. A positive G-Force would be a fast loop and a negative G-Force would be going up and over then down a steep hill. Positive G's = Good Experience! While heights and being upside down may seem really scary, the scariest feeling of all are the negative G's because you definitely don't want to feel like you are being pulled out of your seat. 9. Take it one ride at a time. If there's a coaster you rode that made you feel a little jumpy, keep riding it all year long till you feel comfortable with it. Then when you can ride it with little or no anxiety, you'll know you are ready to tackle something a little more daring. 10. Riding them at night will take away the fear of height, because there will be less to see and the ground won't be visible. However, I don't suggest this because you should only handle heights when you are ready to face them. I hope this helps a little.........................

I had no idea they changed the ticket prices. New Ticket Prices Last time I checked in April, the prices were much higher. If this is what they payed to get in, then it was dirt cheap.

I filmed this in May of 2010 Squirrel at Kings Island Friday, May 21st, 2010 A Squirrel runs through crowd and after pausing a few times to look around, seeks shelter under a table out side the Ice Cream Shop in Planet Snoopy where a guest feeds it a pretzel while it drys off and waits for the rain to stop. It was a very cold day and I was soaked so I tried my best to hold the camera still.

Actually, now that I think about it.... everyone on Monday appeared to be a season pass holder, and since I have a pass as well, I didn't notice the sign, but the people collecting money for parking never said anything. Since most buy their tickets at Kroger, they should of had the signs at every ticket taker, and all ticket takers should have looked every guest in the eye and named all the rides that were down and then asked them "Do you still want to enter the park or come back another day?".
-
I do find it odd that they would drain water from a ride only to refill it later, but if they have to put fresh water in daily then it would make sense not to have any water till it's power is restored again. Is there a reason they can't just put water in Congo Falls and leave it all summer long?
-
I went 7-5-2010 Monday and......... Adventure Express ...................... (was down all day) Flight Deck ................................... (was down all day) Invertigo ...................................... (was down all day) Congo Falls .................................. (was down all day) Delerium ...................................... (was down all day) because of this, other rides had longer lines than usual..... I over heard some of the ride employees talking about how every time the mechanics think they have the power restored, they lose it again. Also, it appears Delerium is having more than power issues and may be the last ride to be back in operation. So has anyone been at the park lately? What's the update? Is everything back to normal yet? And about the park not giving refunds, they should have at least handed out free tickets for the paying guests to come back. This way they don't lose any money and the guests are happy, everyone wins, but unfortunately they ****ed everyone off by not being prepared to deal with the situation professionally as they should have. ...and once again they sold tickets all day Monday (7-5-2010) without letting people know half the park was down, and then refused to offer another day to paying guests to come back. Since Kroger's sells 2 day tickets for the price Kings Island sells tickets for just one day, I don't think it would have hurt the park to offer a second day for those that payed for one day.

Friday September 10th, 6pm to Midnight Got It... I bookmarked the link....... I'll buy my ticket as soon as I have the money. I've been on Gay Day before a long time ago and just haven't been in the last ten years because I'm bad with dates. I love the idea it will be open till midnight, I hate the sunlight and I will enjoy this much more. Gay Day is the one day you can just be yourself, and find others that think the same way. Though I don't have anyone to go with, I'm sure I'll find people to talk to and ride rides with. If anyone wants to do a meet up, I'll attend. Even though Planet Snoopy will be closed, I think they should at least run The Flying Ace roller coaster. Many adults ride it and you don't have to have a kid with you to ride it. It can also be ridden without any shoes.

United Kingdom Day, this is Great! You know how HUGE that place is? Just joking... haha, but seriously I always think of United Kingdom first when I see UK. The prices are really good, I'll see if I know anyone going to UK. I was already planing on going this Saturday with a friend, so with it being UK day, I may find others to bring along.

Every restroom in the park (both male and female restrooms) have one stall that can accommodate a wheel chair. These are extra large stalls, made for a wheelchair to sit on one side of the stall and the toilet sits on the other side. Every ride in the park is also accessible by wheelchair. Usually from the exit ramps, but even where there are stairs, ask an employee and they have a way of getting around all of them.

Show off your landscape Diamondback pics.

I took this in April of 2010 -
This show ran May 29th, 30th and 31st only! I think the show times were only 3 times each day, not sure. Anyways, I got lucky and caught the last show on the last day. I didn't see any posts in the forum yet about this show so I put together the best pieces from the last show for those that might want to see what they missed. It was very impressive, and they knew I was filming video so perhaps I encouraged them to show off a bit for the camera. 2010 Memorial Day - Grab Some Air Tour - BMX - at Kings Island http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW-rCQVqyZI

"Click!" Let's Have Fun & See Those KI 2010 Pictures
selective replied to PKISecurity's topic in Kings Island
The Firehawk crew appear to be doing much better now! They are keeping the lines moving and filling almost every seat. They are also getting the trains out of the station quicker. However, I still suggest riding this ride first thing when the park opens so you won't be stuck in a line for it later. This is the only laying down coaster I ever road and when I road it, it was at night so I couldn't see the track layout completely. So the first time I road it, I was very scared and shook up by it, mostly for not knowing what it was going to do combined with looking straight down the whole time. Once I saw the track layout in the daylight and road it again, the second time wasn't so bad, and I started to enjoy it. I think the funnest part of the ride is the loop, and even during my first ride when I was scared, the loop was the only part that wasn't scary. -

I took this pic Sunday... -
Thanks for posting the show pics. I didn't have time to see this yesterday, but I will see it next time I go.

If KI Management is reading this... Make a red box icon for tornado shelters and add them to the park maps already! IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!

Rock Band Live Coming to Kings Island (Confirmed)
selective replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I saw Rock Band Live yesterday at the 4:30pm show I'm not a fan of the game but thought I would check the show out. The problem with most of KI's shows is how they are all based on singing song hook covers back to back with little or no script and acting dialog, and no interaction with the audience as a whole. Rock Band Live was far better than this! Unlike all of those singing shows where they jump from song hook to song hook till they are finished, this show was a real show and it had it all..... real scripts, real acting, and full audience interaction. Actors = Perfect Singers = Perfect Costumes = Perfect So what was the show about? Well, it's about a band that is fixated on their image more than their music. Then it becomes two bands competing. And... two members of the rival bands fall in love, but this is all I'll say because I don't want to spoil the details or how it ends. If you don't see this show before it leaves, you'll regret it, so go and see it NOW!!! It may be the best show at KI this summer! I didn't care about the game at all, but the game was set up outside the show away from the show for those wanting to play the game. They had a booth set up selling shirts and other stuff also. -
I'm still waiting to see it work also. Though I don't like the locations they chose for the other two cams. Racer and Dimondback? The views don't really show the people in the park and the images take too long to change to see any real activity. My cam suggestions: 1. On the web site the images should rez at smaller sizes so they load quicker, because I have a high speed internet connection and I shouldn't have to wait for a large picture to slowly load on the page every time it refreshes. 2. Find better places to put the cameras (and they don't have to be so high up). Example: White Water Canyon where people are getting wet. International street sounds like the best place, but still waiting to see it work.

I like the idea of what they do. I just think they can be done without stupid cables. And I never said no one likes going up and then down, that was just your failure to understand what I was saying. If you are going to go up that high and then all the way down, why not add more to it like some loops, corkscrews, or several more miles of track to keep it going? Take the ride "Oblivion" for example. All it did was drop straight down, but now other rides such as "Saw The Ride" do that same thing with actual track added to offer more of a ride and the cool part about "Saw The Ride" is it does a corkscrew as you leave the station before you get to the lift hill.

The head managers do have a tornado plan layout map in their offices. The funny thing about this is the employees do not know about it or what to do. Apparently some supervisors know but when asked they said when the time comes they will be told to get their employees and told where to take them. I guess with so many employees coming and going in the park, they might feel it's pointless to train everyone on emergency procedures. If this is the case, they should at least have the tornado plan layout maps included on all guest maps for the park so it becomes common knowledge. Before Phantom Theater existed, one location was a back (employee only) entrance to Enchanted Voyage. Since the building was changed, not sure if it is still used. Another location is The Festhaus. There were about 5 other locations also, but the others were also (employee only) areas, so without them being marked as where the park guests should go, and without the employees knowing themselves where they all are, the park needs to update this information and make it more widely known. When I asked one of the supervisors years ago why they are not better prepared for a tornado, they replied Kings Island never got hit by one yet.

The park says not to go barefoot, so this alone protects the park from anyone barefoot that gets hurt while barefoot. Sometimes it's safe, other times it isn't. Just think of all the twigs on the ground. Then again, shoes are unnatural and our entire human race has become like domestic house pets. Why would people go barefoot? Well, if you were caught in the rain and soaked before you could find shelter, your shoes will hold water ruining your shoes and keeping your feet wet even when on dry ground. So funny how a little weather changes everything. As for your thought of no performers during bad weather doesn't justify a refund or a free ticket, well, it has been Kings Island policy since it opened. Kings Island cannot predict the weather, and most plan a trip or travel very far to get there, so if bad weather prevents all the rides from operating, as long as they have shows going on, the park can say they still had something to do while they were there. This is how it was before and during Paramount owned the park, so it's probably still the same. Kings Island is Warren County. You work in the park, so you should already know. When your supervisor comes to get you, they will tell you they are waiting for the guests to leave. On a day with very bad weather this can take up to four hours after the last ride has closed early due to bad weather. They can announce the rides and park are closed over the speakers, but security doesn't round them up during bad weather, they just have to wait it out. On this Friday, the rides closed around six something but there were still a few hundred people still in the park around eight after most of the buses had already left.

When I first saw the one in CP, I was excited until I found out that was all it did. Up then Down? People want a ride that does more, so if it is done I would say have it shoot in a huge circle around the entire park. That would be super cool. To go up that high, then drop and zoom around the entire park in a huge circle passing all the sections of the park. I think it would set a record for most land used for one ride. Not sure if I would ride it though. I like roller coasters, not single carts pulled by a cable. If it could be made into a real rollercoaster, sure! I love coasters! CABLES ON LAUNCH COASTERS CAN BE DANGEROUS -------------------------------------------------------------------- (September 16, 2009) - At Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, a 12-year-old boy and his father were injured on the Xcelerator roller coaster when a cable that launches the ride's trains broke apart. The cable sliced through the calf of the boy's left leg. The boy's father was treated for back injuries. The ride has been shut down. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EGHHjN0bQs The accident on the ride, Xcelerator at Knotts Berry Farm, involved the cable from the ride's hydraulic launch mechanism snapping (or coming loose), sending debris into two rider's faces, causing cuts and lacerations, as well as sending hot hydraulic fluid and steam onto the riders. The two riders, one age 12, were sent to the hospital after the accident. The boy has been released from the hospital. Park officials said that the cables are replaced yearly according to specifications, and the cable that broke was installed in December. Investigators are inspecting the cable and working to determine what caused it to fail. In July 2004 a similar accident happened on Top Thrill Dragster, a roller coaster at Cedar Point Park in Sandusky, Ohio, leaving riders with cuts and minor injuries. Both Xcelerator and Top Thrill Dragster are manufactured by Intamin of Switzerland. Article reposted from rideaccidents.com and the videos youtube page.

I was there that Friday. I went cause I love being in the rain, and lets face it, if you are going to play in the rain, the funnest place to do it is at an amusement park. Also, when the rain dies down, the rides open with no wait time and there's no annoying sun to tan my precious pale skin I've been working on for so many years. I did hear the siren go off, but I thought it was just for sever thunder storms. I never knew there was a tornado till after I got home that night. So this might be where the confusion was with the employees and the park guests. If they would have replaced the siren with a voice saying something, I'm sure it would have had more of an effect on everyone. The biggest thing I noticed was there were no shows at all, not one show played all day! So KI should have refunded everyone or gave free tickets for another day. Does anyone know if they did or not? Also, how KI normally handles bad rainy days, when they do announce the park is closed, the guests are not forced to leave! If they were forced to leave, KI would have to refund them or give them a free ticket for another day for sure, but if they are just left to wonder the entire park for several hours with nothing to do, eventually they will leave on their own. However, the shows have to be going on in order to not refund anyone, or so I thought! In this case not one show ran all day! I went on another bad rainy day not long after this one if I remember correctly. On both days I went, I saw about 50 people walking through the park barefoot, and in a small way... POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!! It's a small example of how laws and rules can be broken when done in large groups.

Most Embarrasing Thing That Happened To You At KI
selective replied to KIMonster14's topic in Kings Island
The wooden benches built close to Adventure Express, (not sure if they are still there or have been replaced), about the time the ride had first opened, I wasn't looking, just talking and walking backwards to sit down and instead of sitting down on the bench, I smacked the tip of my tailbone directly onto one of the wooden posts that ran in between them. Everyone yelled seconds before I did it, trying to stop me, but it was too late and for several hours after I had a sharp stinging pain in my tailbone. I couldn't sit for the rest of the day anywhere after that, and it also hurt to walk. **** Wooden Posts!!! hahahahaha, they were about three feet high to so who knows how many this happened to on a daily basis. Next time I'm at the park, I'll look and see if they are still there. I know, that's not that embarrassing. There were a few times I saw others very embarrassed though. Once I walked into a restroom to find a trail of diarrhea from the entrance all the way to the toilet in the first stall. Oh wow, I tell yeah, I sure would hate to be that guy, and it was only a few hours after the park opened.
