^ Kinzel Cups are only 6 oz. (or ~6.7 if you fill it to the brim) -
KICentral, where we'll complain about absolutely anything.

New for 2014 at Holiday World...
malem replied to McSalsa's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think it's a good fit; the park needs more high thrill attractions that aren't as "scary". Not every addition has to be spectacular. That said, I can't imagine that this announcement is what management had in mind when releasing the "Dig" teaser to coaster enthusiasts last year. -
The Storm Chaser New for Adventureland Park
malem replied to Creed Bratton's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Perhaps Cedar Fair decided against relocating the Knott's WindSeeker to Worlds of Fun and sold it instead. -
^^ The requirement to RSVP is a username on this site. It doesn't matter whether he posts or not. If he doesn't have one and is allowed to create one, you would need to hurry. It can take awhile for new account e-mails to come through, and the deadline to RSVP is in 25 minutes. If for any reason he can't create a username here, then he would not be able to RSVP or attend, per the requirements in post #1 of this thread.

Color spaces used to model colors in computer images are only approximations. They cannot represent the entire range of colors visible to the human eye. Color profiles can be adjusted to be as accurate as possible for a given image on a professional display, but some error will always exist. The purpose of the renderings and video was to show the ride and how it fits into the park, not to achieve color profile perfection. Even if that had been the purpose, colors would still be noticeably off on your sub-$1000 computer monitor or on your smartphone screen.

^^ From what I understand, Panda Express is operated by an independent franchisee, not the park. Giving away free refills to souvenir cup guests probably doesn't make business sense, though I'd hope they would honor the deal for those purchasing their food. It would be very inconvenient to stand in two different lines for food and drink. I don't care what cuisine(s) they offer in the Festhaus, but I'd really prefer some unique choices. I can get Panda Express at airports, mall food courts, and street corners in any major city - without the ~30% premium.

^ Check your spam folder. If this is Gmail, check your non-"primary" category tabs. If it's not there, it could be a temporary failure. Try looking again in a few hours. If it still hasn't arrived, it could be that your e-mail provider is rejecting e-mail from KICentral's server. You might want to try registering with another e-mail address. If all else fails, an administrator on this forum could manually confirm the account(s). Send a private message to one (or more) of them. (The active administrators are Dane, BoddaH1994, CoastersRZ, and Avatar.) P.S. Anyone that still needs to register for an account should do so now. Waiting until the last minute may cause you to miss the 5:00pm Friday deadline, and there are no exceptions.

Why would they advertise Banshee to those driving into Cedar Point? (The main road to Cedar Point is called a causeway because it is one. There are no causeways anywhere near Kings Island.)

^^^ Thanks for providing the schedule in advance! Looks great! Just to note here, many of us are also interested in the Dollar Days lights-on tours of the Haunt mazes, Madam Fatale's Cavern of Terror and Wolf Pack. I'm guessing that many will head there after the Reds Q&A. EDIT: I see the Haunt tours got added to the schedule; thanks!

What if she finds and joins this site?

^ Ryan announced on Monday that only people with KICentral usernames may RSVP and attend. This includes people under 13. Those under 13 cannot create their own accounts, per this site's terms of service to comply with COPPA. A parent or legal guardian should create and maintain this account, until the child turns 13. You can include your children in your own RSVP e-mail, but the e-mail must include the first & last name and the KICentral username of each attendee, per the instructions in post #1. Remember that the cut-off is 5:00pm this Friday.

Photos Now UP! - Cedar Point Thursday/Friday 22nd/23rd
malem replied to Ki Man's topic in Trip Reports
You shouldn't have to train to ride a roller coaster. How were you holding onto the bar? Try wedging your hands between the bar and your thighs - you want to direct the force away from where it would hurt. I'll ride anywhere on Magnum, and I always bring the lap bar down until it rests on my lap. Some rows would be very painful if I didn't hold on. -
Are you participating in the KICentral event? It's free with park admission. Details: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27756-announcement-you-are-invited RSVP info (Fri 5pm deadline): http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28183-rsvp-for-kics-10th-birthday-now/

The park did a great job of keeping up with the demand. Pizza slices and hot dogs were being handed out at an impressive pace, and they even turned off receipt printing to save time. Some locations had pre-filled water cups ready to grab. On the other hand, Hank's Burrito Shack opened around 11:30 and was shut down by 12:45. It seemed that the only things selling there were drinks.

For guests of this event, it doesn't matter who collects the names or who disseminates the information.

It's extremely nice of the park to put this event on for us at no cost. Let's make sure they know how much we appreciate it on Sunday! This should go without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway: When you RSVP to an invitation, make sure you actually show up. If your plans change, let the event organizer know ASAP.

^ I saw thousands of people yesterday; my memory's not that good.

I was walking directly behind you, then. Don was just ahead of me when he walked behind the building facing International Street. By the way, when I read the title of this thread, I pictured someone nearly colliding with Don on the midway.

^ Do they even advertise Starlight Spectacular as an attraction anymore? I view it as decoration at this point.

^ I'd like to see Vortex where Vortex is located.

Knowing what other members look like helps a lot. (Study those group photos! ) Other than that, pay attention to meet-up threads. Perhaps propose a time and location to meet, to increase the odds of finding each other. I wore one around the park all day today, but only thedevariouseffect and an inactive member who didn't tell me his username found me. Thedevariouseffect and I also met up with Ryan and Dane, but we spotted them.

If you ate a $1 hot dog from Tower Drinks today, there's a good chance that Don grilled it for you! (He was manning the grill for a good portion of the day.)
