  1. I was looking forward to riding Sea Dragon, should have went to it first. The Mouse Coaster and Zero G were good rides as well. I'm just not a fan of Carnival Rides as most of them make me sick. I do give them kudos for not having the music on their Starship 4000 cranked to 15 like the Carnies do. You could actually stand near it and talk while waiting for the kids. Another positive is their 1/4 pound Hot Dog really is a 1/4 pound Hot Dog, made of Beef to boot.
  2. Never been on a ride that had parts fall of it before so yeah my report is skewed way against the park. The park is laid out well and the water park looked nice but was not open yet. I can and do appreciate small parks and care about more than B&M Coasters. I was hesitant to post this report as I figured big fans such as yourself would take offense to a negative review. Sorry you took pointing out things and relaying abad trip as complaining.
  3. Anyone here ever visited this place? If so, how was it? We visited the park today as Chaperone's for our Daughter's 5th grade class. Upon arriving at the park, I felt a little uneasy since it is basically a giant Midway packed full of Carnival rides. A small Wooden Coaster and a Drop Tower are the exceptions. This uneasiness grew when I took a ride on Zero G(The Drop Tower ride) the ride would not work because of a seat belt not being secure and he could not figure out which one. So he had to call for some help. This call was done by yelling for another person a couple rides away and waving his arms until he got noticed. The offending belt was found and off we went. The ride doesn't mess around like DT at KI, once it reaches the top, down you go. The next ride we went to was Power Surge. Halfway into this ride I notice an object coming at us from above and about crapped when it bounced off of our seats and hit the 10 year old I was riding with. It then smacked onto the platform below. Once the ride stopped the Op retrieved the object and didn't seem to care that it was actually a part of the ride. He walked the part a couple rides over to show someone. The ride was shut down for a few minutes and put back into operation. The part that fell off was a large Hatch Strut that I figure was from an Access Door on the rides arm. Thankfully the door didn't fall off with it. Thankfully the 10 year old was not hurt but the Teacher still went to talk with Management. After that I was done with the Carnival Rides and decided to try out the Woodie, Kentucky Rumbler. The coaster is small but has some good speed and banked turns. Hands down the only thing in the park worth riding. Of course it was stuck on the lift hill later on. Eventually it climbed the hill and made the trip. Then it left the station with a load of people. They closed the entrance but allowed those in line to ride before closing it for good. That was very odd to me. I spent the rest of the day watching the kids enjoy the Carnival Rides, with the exception of riding the Mouse Coaster with them. The food at the park is mostly your standard park food, Hot Dogs, Burgers, etc and not worth writing home about. Prices are high and gone are their Free Drinks. The ride ops are drones and obviously wish they were doing something else. Lots of the carnie rides would go down on a regular basis. Sadly, we will never again set foot in this "Park". I have never once before felt unsafe on a ride but Beech Bend has changed that. Sucks because I had heard so many nice things about the place in the past.
  4. Hard to believe it has been 25 years since this accident devastated our Community. Countless lives were and are still affected. Will be attending the first public screening of the documentary that Mr. Harold Dennis has been working so diligently on. On a positive note, the NTSB made it a point to announce a new push for lower drinking limits for drivers on the 25th anniversary. I think it should be zero myself, though I am a little biased.
  5. Yes, things got out of hand. Of course, if one has been here long enough they know that most every Thread that Selective starts, ends up that way. Lol
  6. Your coworkers should take a class in Reading Comprehension because the Ad clearly states " AS LOW AS $15 per month". That does not mean that every single purchase option is going to be at that price.
  7. You do realize that SFDK is in Vallejo, California, right? $36/hr is about $72k/yr, and in Cali that doesnt get you much of anything. I will make no further comment on my thoughts on this whole situation, as my Screen name will allude to which group I am in favor of. For those who dont know, IBEW stands for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. I am very familiar with IBEW, Father in Law is an Electrician. I thought about becoming one because he gets to spend a lot of time in Florida As for my comment on the pay, sorry to offend you and yes I realize where the park is. It was a joke based on the fact that I don't even make half that working on Semi Trucks.
  8. Take a behind the scenes tour of The Beast and you can ask him any question your heart desires. Of course judging by the stuff asked on the one I attended...he has been asked it all, lol.
  9. No sir. Almost 20 years of turning Wrenches and he is the best employer I have had.
  10. I'm sure that a knowledgeable Ride Tech is no different than a knowledgeable Truck Tech. If someone is certified for the job, they know what to look for whether they have seen a particular ride only once or a hundred times.
  11. I work on Semi Trucks in a large garage with no AC, many of those trucks come in straight off the interstate in August with 100% humidity and near 100 outside temps. My boss keeps a fridge in the office that is stocked full of Bottled Water because the shop is on an old well for it's water supply. Safe to say that I have drank a WHOLE LOT of Bottled Water over the last 2 years.
  12. The park states that the rides are still being properly maintained. Most likely that is being done by non union mechanics. $36 per hour to work on a Roller Coaster......I picked the wrong maintenance field, lol.
  13. The smaller bottles are so much easier to carry around the park. They are still big enough to share if need be. Just be careful when you order them online because we learned today that not all employees are aware of how that works. 30 minutes in Guest Relations later and we had cups. Not to mention the website boasts about getting your cup for 3 bucks cheaper than park price, yet there is a 6 dollar Service Charge when you order one. Well played Cedar Fair.
  14. He didn't win the Banana, they gave it to him when he went back to complain about the game. I thought everyone knew that Carnival games were rigged?
  15. Just noticed this morning that Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom sign on Northbound I65 is gone.
  16. Nice report, thanks for sharing. I liked seeing the pic of the Menu, the prices are a lot lower than I thought they would be.
  17. Well, you just up my mind about whether or not we were gonna make the 2+ hour drive to spend the afternoon at the park. Rain should be in the are by 7 so looks like I will be doing Laundry instead.
  18. I hear someone digging through the silverware drawer for a Fork.
  19. I'd rather they have that than be put on a chain. Nothing is more annoying than a neighbors chained up dog barking its fool head off at anything that moves.
  20. Not even in the Back Yard? That means no Dogs either, I assume? I prefer to not be connected to my neighbors, lol.
  21. I am online every day. I just tend to avoid the fads of the week like they are a deadly disease. Blissfully unaware.
  22. Sounds like a good time. How about wearing OLD clothes. People do still have these, right?
  23. Nice report, thanks for sharing. Excited that my family will soon get to experience the many great parks in Florida.
  24. Louisville is currently dealing with High Crime and rampant Heroin abuse. I highly doubt many will chose KK over HW or KI. At least he puts on a good front.
