  1. I understand the prices in the park are high, they suck, and really need to come down. That said.... Must every thread here have to mention them and complain about them? We KNOW they are high. It's not like the big wigs from CF are gonna read a thread here and lower the prices.
  2. 165 miles according to Google. Takes a little over 2 hours but is very much worth it.
  3. Waiting in the rear section line of Vortex (July 13th) a young girl in front of us passed out. Got herself worked up I suppose and down she went, thankfully someone caught her. Within 30 seconds of her dropping, a young boy waiting for the front seats hit the floor. Was very strange to see 2 people do that at almost the same time. I looked around to make sure we weren't being gassed or something, lol.
  4. Like Firehawk on Tuesday. We waited in that darn line for 45 minutes and were almost to the train. Felt bad for the people stuck on the trains in the laid back position
  5. Beast has always had great Ops on my visits. The best in the park in my experience. Keep updating, cause a live report is cool
  6. I believe they want facts that show the ride does not swing the same as it once did.
  7. I rode on 5-1 of Vortex this week and it was pure bliss. I normally sit in the middle, although my backseat ride on DB was better than anywhere else. Have only rode the 2 kid area coasters and Beast in the front so far and aside from Beast (which sucked) I enjoyed them.
  8. Nice report, good to see I'm not the only nutjob that buys food in the park, lol. On a side note though, I love riding Vortex and have yet to get bumped around on it. I especially liked my 5-1 ride last on my last visit. I did not like my front car ride on Beats at all however. Too many times I thought the train was gonna stop, especially on the hill after the first drop.
  9. They are moving the sinking Vortex over there.
  10. The email I received contained a link with the itinerary for each park. You will notice on it that Cedar Point is indeed picking 60 from a list of people registered for the coaster marathon. http://www.gktw.org/howToHelp.asp?a=3&page=c4k The emails I have came from this person Kara Dhuse Communications Representative Give Kids The World 407.396.1114 Ext. 4504 karad@gktw.org
  11. It says, "First 60" not the "60 that make the most money". Only thing it says about amounts is for the top 3 amounts from the 60 people. If they let 300 people register and assume they get in, only to tell 240 they are sorry, they will have a mess on their hands. Other parks only have 10 spots so those going to KI are lucky, though KI is one of the only ones NOT providing breakfast, lol.
  12. It is a fun ride but the sewage smells in the tunnels Monday made me wanna hurl.
  13. the prices are expensive, no doubt about it. We still buy some things at the park but try and be smart about it. We have the special cups and all that jazz. Even a couple pair of 3D glasses, lol. That said, LaRosas in Rivertown, made a KILLING yesterday. The place was lined out the door and you could not find a seat outside. That was even before the heavy downpour started.
  14. The one I got yesterday wiped right off with water.
  15. That is the reason I have given up on most all fast food. It all bland garbage and unless you get the drink yourself be prepared for a giant cup of ice with a couple shots of Coke in it. Sit down restaurants are slowly becoming worse as well. The pizza at the park is great and I haven't had a bad burger yet. That said, prices are having an effect as most everyone I saw at the park this afternoon had a hand stamp. I'm willing to bet most all of them have a cooler in the parking lot.
  16. There is a big crane beside the ride now. Appears that they are working on the top of it.
  17. I'm glad the park wasn't more damaged and was able to recover quickly. The floods in May were horrible and we lost a family friend to them. Gonna have to visit the park sometime since it is not far from me. My only thing is there are only so many flat rides that I can handle, lol. Do want to check out that coaster though.
  18. Well, I received an email yesterday wanting to know my shirt size. I assume that means I am one of the 60.
  19. Sad to see that roller coaster is being torn down. Wonder if someone will buy it or not? There are a lot of Parks in FL I am noticing. Maybe having to move down there won't be such a bad thing.
  20. HAHA. You mean they won't hear either of us scream like a little girl. We will be there all day Tuesday.
  21. I understand, sometimes looking up at stuff bothers me as well. As for DT, I'm scared of it but WILL ride it this coming week, maybe, lol. Just need someone to ride with me.
  22. I wonder what makes some scared and not others? Last time we were at KI we had 4 kids with us. My daughter (7) freaks out big time, but she will ride a couple of the small ones. Another child (9) would ride some but seemed scared of the big ones and didn't ride either. The youngest, my son (6) and a friends daughter (7 I think) have ZERO fear and will get on ANYTHING. The girl watched DB hit the water. Then she turned to me and said I WANT TO RIDE THAT, sadly she is too short. The first coaster I rode (Wabash Cannonball-85) I could not get myself to open my eyes on the first drop and we rode it like 5 times. I rode Vortex the next year and my eyes were closed the entire time, my eyes were closed on Beast's drops as well. Even riding DB and Woodstock lat year I could not open my eyes on the first drops, lol. I finally got over that this year at age 35, lol. Whatever the cause of your fear, if you remain calm and face it, you will eventually beat it.
