  1. If you don't make it, I have no idea where you might find the information about it! lol I know always more exciting to find out about it first hand. That way you don't have to sift though 59000 post about SoB and why something on it should have been announced! 59,000?!!! If there were that many posts, my eyes would bleed. In all honesty, I've enjoyed reading this thread, even with the bickering and the SOBbing (see what I did there?) and the numerous examples of Poe's Law. It's been enough to turn me from a long-time lurker to a poster! I think I'm up to 20 posts, gasp!
  2. 4 hours to go! Had to work last night. Hope I'll be awake for the news!
  3. Edit: nevermind. completely irrelevant. sorry
  4. I'm thinking that maybe the area they're putting this into could be used as a multipurpose area. Say the dinosaurs leave at the end of the year. Next year they can pull in another attraction, maybe something to do with space exploration or American history or even the history of the park as a salute to the 40th anniversary. This could be an exciting opportunity for the park to create a variety of intellectually stimulating attractions for guests young and old. I think I'll rank this as the 2nd thing I do the first time I make it to the park this year, right after checking it out from atop WindSeeker.
  5. Great Great Great Grandfather Of Beast or GGGGOB for short.
  6. Off topic, but your comment makes me wonder how many accidents have been caused by people gazing in awe at the magnificence of the KI skyline.
  7. Who knows? They might have a bigger T-Rex to put behind The Racer. That'd be one big dinosaur.
  8. I chose Firehawk. The first few times I rode, my legs were very sore from trying to keep myself from falling. Being that high up and looking directly at the ground had put my whole body on red alert. After a while, I got over it.
  9. No change. Blue Racer all the way! Provided it's open, it has the better looking trains, IMHO.
  10. Remind me not to park next to the T-Rex this year.
  11. We have a speed reader on our hands! *Preemptive edit to point out that I'm not trying to mock the previous poster, just making a comment
  12. My, this topic has gotten chippy. Whining and taking cheap shots at other people: the real reason the internet was invented! To look on the bright side of things, 44 days to opening. If you haven't checked out the awesome photo countdown thread yet, go do it now: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23316&st=0. Another positive, we're getting "301 Feet of Vertical OMG's" this year, anything else is just bonus. That out of the way, I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid on Dinosaurs Unleashed yet. I'm not proposing we'll be getting Dinosaur: The Epic Gigacoaster, and the idea of this being a SOB job is laughable. That said, I still see reasons to doubt the walkthrough hypothesis. The outline shown in the photos seems too long for such an event given the size and laziness of the modern park guest ("What do you mean you're out of the souvenir cups with the handles? You mean I have to carry my drink all day?"). Also, earlier in this thread, the picture where the guy is holding the map was enhanced and the word "plaza" was visible in a position that suggests it was a header of some sort. See posts 451, 454, 456, and 458. I've never known "plaza" to be synonymous with "walkthrough." It could be a similar type deal, however. The Dinosaurs Unearthed T-Rex appears to have a longer and thinner snout than the one in the KI parking lot and a thinner neck. Also, IMHO, the eye photo looks more like a small piece of a potential logo for the attraction. http://www.dinosaursunearthed.com/exhibitions/outdoor/ http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/park/mud/index.cfm While I will grant that a walkthrough exhibit seems to be the most likely scenario, I still see reasons to question the hypothesis until further evidence is granted. This took a long time to post to a fast-moving thread. Apologies in advance if any of my questions have already been addressed before posting.
  13. The Wooly Mammoth clone is going to be born early at King's Island! Either that, or we're going to get midget dinosaur wrestling.
  14. No Problem. Aren't we all?
  15. That is the puppet theater that was located in Hanna Barbara Land. It was added in the mid-80's I believe. Where was it located at in HB-Land? I can't remember that either. If you look at the 1989 map and index, it's #160, Woodlands Ampitheatre. 16. Nice find. It does look different. But it does match the original red outline posted on facebook back in Jan... Yes. See the part that juts out to the far right of the FB image. Edited to clarify description
  17. I don't know. Depends on whether or not I get moved to working Saturdays by then.
  18. "Evolution: The Ride." Oh, it's turn the clock back on thrill. "Devolution: The Ride."
  19. This is KI's warning that the pavers aren't going to be done in time because of all the rain, so we'll have to walk in the mud to reach WindSeeker.
  20. I always wondered what that was there for. I just figured it was ether an employees only area or a haunt building for Halloween Haunt. This used to be a funnel cake stand. The area to the right is where my 2nd girlfriend dumped me years ago. (TMI?) Earlier this season, if you looked closely over the fence on the left-hand side of the building, you could see the ambulance used for the hospital-themed haunt. It's been awhile since I've been, so I don't know if it's still visible or if it's been moved in preparation for HH. That said, I'm totally excited for WindSeeker. It will make a great addition to the park.
  21. Every ride. Just started putting my hands up on FH recently. I do pull my hands down a little bit when I'm approaching The Beast tunnels though.
  22. Always bring a chicken with you to the park so they can hold your stuff while you ride. That's why I bring my wife with me!
  23. Just rode front seat on DB for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago. Totally new experience! The way all of Rivertown spreads out in front of you as you're looking down the first drop is amazing!
  24. ^Great points. The fact that you have 2 of the parks major attractions that far away from a bathroom is something that should be addressed. I also like the idea of a sign indicating when FH is down, to keep guests from putting $2 in one of those lockers for no reason. Of course, if members read signs, they wouldn't put quarters in there. A smoking area in one of the corners of XBase would be nice, for those who need it. Edit: was trying to respond to a post by GoodYellowKorn RE: XBase. Still getting used to the site. Bear with me, please.
  25. Regularly heard @FoF Ride Photo: "Are those real aliens?" 1st Post! Thanks for having me!
